at least it shows soojin to be human to have been so hurt and angry that she choose to destroy what she cannot have. i feel for soojin in this moment, hopefully in later episodes she can be "rescued".

not sure with only 4 episodes left she will transfer to another school. likely she will brave it and resolve this issue. I am curious how it will end too for the drama.

the only people that would be saying true beauty comment section is a mess will likely come from the hornet nest in run on. any negative comments about run on there and the hornets comes out stinging.

Thats the thing, I enjoy this arc and understand why soojin's character changed. For me it adds depth to this drama.

This arc resulted in the actual betrayal of a friend is what jukyung is experiencing right now, so this is a bigger blow and something new to jukyung since she never had a friend before.

I am not saying that its fine to behave in this way. I am just stating that I can see why soojin became like that.

yes the writers made soojin into the villain here, but its not without reason. so from how this drama has developed it adds a certain depth to the drama.

if its all smooth sailing, it wouldnt be dramatic. the fact that we can have such a discussion here shows that theres always 2 side to a coin and i am just trying to put soojin's character into perspective.

from the start she was such a righteous person, helping jukyung and catching a pervert not because she is her friend but its the right thing to do. her helping jukyung when being bullied. her helping against the kidnappers.

if you look at the sufferings that she has had to endure, her only seeming happy moment was when she was with suho in camp while playing team building games.

making a chart of all the happy and unhappy moments for soojin, you will find more unhappy moments till episode 12.

her competitive nature was also made by her dad which constantly punishes her for coming in 2nd. so it is not out of character that she will want to win what she loves. even if ML doesnt choose her, making jukyung leave which means she might still get to stay next to ML.

Its not only that she is ugly and still chosen as school model but because she did not reveal the truth to her friends, this also made her seem 'fake' and hurt her friendships.

As for the plot its always about how society 'judges' people based on their looks. Dramas will always exaggerate the extend of agony and put the cast is drastically extreme situations to trigger emotional feelings.

Judging by your outburst, this drama has achieved that.

Cyberbullying is also a reality in this era, which has actually caused many suicides. I for one am glad that this drama choose to use this context for awareness.

Seems like theres a lot more soo jin dislike comments after episode 12. But from her character view it can be understood why she is like that.

Rushed to the hospital to see suho and jukyung kissing, reached home to get slapped by dad, 10 years next to suho and he picks jukyung, seeing jukyung being selected as class model while knowing how she looks, always punished by her dad for being second and to be suffering from anxiety /depression which made her constantly wash her hands.

Her ability to scheme is equal to when suho made that kidnapper apologize. I guess evil genius is the theme here.

Not all villains are born evil, some become villains not by the nature of their personality, they are made due to circumstances. I felt for her when she confessed to suho, yet for 10 years being next to suho, she is just being roughly brushed aside. Maybe if suho had been more considerate and let her down gently, she might not have made such moves in vengeance.

Lesson here, be kind and considerate to others, you never know what others had to go thru.

its 40 episodes, its going to be quite a ride for sure since its cdrama. What i am hoping to see is ML and FL working and growing together instead of being apart.

Episode 11 is such an emotional ride, likewise for that episode when Suho was crying on the roof before jugyung found him. The bromance is so sad and strong in this drama and bringing cyberbullying which is such a real issue in this era (especially when you read news of celebrities or reality stars that has committed suicide due to cyberbullying) into this drama just deserves recognition.

Cha eun woo has really improved in his acting abilities from the time I have been following his career since "hit the top" in 2017. Rookie historian was also such a great cast from him.

For me, I am secretly hoping that true beauty will have a season 2.

Hopefully Neo and chao yue's story can be a full fledged drama with them as ML and FL or even sign them up as a 40 episode romance drama pairing.

Seriously this variety show caught on fire and appeared on the top search engine in china because of Neo and Chaoyue CP.

Maybe this variety show will have Wang An Yu and Xiang Han Zhi for next season, love this couple in forever love.

Its a romantic cdrama, but you really got to like the ML and FL for it to work, because its quite slow paced. I mean for 1st episode FL is just going around being infatuated with ML while ML doesnt even know she exists.

Its quite hard to buy this especially when FL looks better than ML's gf, which broke off in episode 1 too .... Its going to be a roller coaster ride for sure with 38 episodes when 2019 version was only 24.

The hook was hard to get for me personally because how long can you just be infatuated with a guy while in university.
