Rumor has it they filmed a lot more episodes than the final cut — I think 48 vs the 40 that was aired. So I'm hopeful that they can at least release the original cut so we can all mend our wounds a little :')
I honestly don't know why they deleted so many amazing scenes.. were they anticipating viewers fatigue if it was longer or something?

I think I read another comment where someone said it was leaked on a tencent platform (kinda like equivalent of billibili if I'm not mistaken). so it's not tencent actually releasing the clips. I could be wrong tho. would be funny to see a whole new version if a new platform like tencent gets their hands on the drama

Can they hurry up with the special ep already? or at least say they're going to release a director's cut w/ everything put back to its rightful place... I don't even want to watch something else to move on from this drama. I'll just wallow in this place until we get the justice we deserve

I hope you’ll push through! At the beginning she’s playing an immature and headstrong girl bc of her rough upbringing. Almost as if it’s an armor to protect herself. But as the show progresses, you’ll see her mature beautifully while also retaining her playful nature. LLD’s acting has also blown me away with this project. I’ve felt every emotion YT was feeling throughout the show. I think she did a phenomenal job at portraying her character’s growth and it’s even more evident now that I’m on my 2nd watch.

I’ve been thinking about how amazing the acting has been in this drama. Especially the 2 leads. I’m rewatching the drama atm and I’ve caught a lot of amazing subtleties in their acting that conveyed the emotions beautifully

I liked that Ye Tan is flawed and doesn’t always make the right decision. Remember she’s only 18-19 at this point and lived most of her life in isolation. She’s not gonna make the most “mature” decisions all the time. Plus she finally found 3 people who gave her love unconditionally and in return she loved them back. For the time she’s with them she didn’t see them as a mere extension of YQ but rather full fleshed individuals who have their own sets of emotions to consider. And the fact that she was considerate of them and their feelings made it more endearing in my opinion. I think with the shards she was learning how to be loved and how to in turn love someone which gave her a lot of character development. I don’t think she figured everything out when she wanted to take the shards into hiding. it’s probably a figure it out as you go kind of situation so the possibilities are abundant in that sense. But at the end she realized that they’re all pieces of YQ and the fact that she loved them all meant she loved all of his “flaws” and YQ as his true self and not the perfect empyrean that he was groomed to be.
If they actually ran away together as shards, she most likely won’t be able to be with all of them as I don’t think they’ll be able to accept that. She’ll prob choose one and let the other 2 go. But at the very least they’ll be living their respective lives in freedom and unburdened by the duty that YQ once had to uphold with his own life.

I’m in a dark hole y’all’s. I can’t seem to move on and I keep checking the twitter hashtag every hour. I miss them 😭

How long does it usually take them to release special clips in other dramas that also had an open ending ?

wait they looked amazing tho ?! I'm so confused bc watching stick skinny actors and actresses is an uncomfortable time esp if I know that they had to starve themselves to achieve the look ....

I think my final rating for the show will remain as a 10/10. It's not perfect but I've felt so many emotions while watching this and became attached before I knew it. It's been a wonderfully beautiful ride and I'm so glad we got to meet TSL this year and resurrected my love for xianxias again. The ending is arguably not ideal but TSL gave us so many unforgettable and iconic moments that it shouldn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the drama. This comment section has garnered such a wonderful community. Happy to have gone through the rollercoaster of emotions with everyone !!

To anyone who's still on the fence about starting this drama — please don't hesitate because you will not regret it!! at the very least it's not a BE so please give this wonderful gem a shot.

I’m curious about this drama’s popularity on the domestic side. I know they’re hitting 10K heat index on youku which is big for the platform but does that translate to overall popularity? Like if we were to compare it to some virally popular shows from other platforms, how does TSL fare? I hope they gain a lot of popularity bc the cast and crew did such an amazing job and they deserve to have their hard work recognized 🥹

I hope he hops on their radar after TSL. I agree he fits the role of a young general (give him that ponytail look!)

CXX has been the surprise discovery for me w/ TSL. I wasn't expecting much from this pairing tbh — I've loved LLD since MHF but admittedly I don't think she's picked the best scripts since then. and I'm so glad I've been proven wrong and given so much more through TSL.

I'm all here for it !! I hope he gains respect for his acting abilities and get offered high quality roles
