Couldn't agree more and I think that's what separates these 2 from a lot of actors within their age group. I think they've been making strides of improvement with their acting and it just shows that they can think critically about their performance and find nuances to make the characters feel as real as possible. CXX's crying scene was extremely impactful for me and LLD's responses and delivery in that same scene just made it such a bittersweet moment that throws a wrench in your heart. At the end when they were reviving the flowers, you can see YQ have happy and hopeful tears in his eyes while holding onto his excitement in a very child-like way. my 2nd watch really allowed me to closely monitor their performance and it blew me away even more. so happy I got introduced to CXX through this project bc I'm absolutely dying for more (and maybe even a 3rd collab between the two!!!)

The sad thing about the dubbing was it's her own voice 💀
Tbh I thought LBFAD was her first gig but it isn't ... which means she didn't make much of an improvement on her acting or it was even worse before. What I've noticed is that some actors/actresses will get really lucky with their breakthrough role bc the character might resemble them quite a bit which makes it easier to act the role. However the biggest test would be their subsequent roles (and how different they are from the last). I guess that's why a lot of actors still lack in diversity in roles bc they're afraid to branch out of their comfort zone and reveal their shortcomings in terms of acting.

This whole thread post of people who also couldn’t get through LBFAD makes me feel so heard 😂 I forced myself to get through 14 ish eps of it and that was me dropping it every few eps giving it a total of 3 tries bc of how many people were singing high praises for it. A big part of it was Esther for me. I didn’t think her performance was good and it was actually extremely annoying to watch. People were singing high praises for her acting and I couldn’t for the life of me understand but each to their own I guess. I’ve also tried watching some of her interviews to understand her draw as a person and couldn’t find any 🥲 maybe for me she has no sense of relatability. Really wanted to love LBFAD and hedi was doing a pretty good job and making some big improvements in his acting since MG days. But I can see major gaps between actresses like LLD, ZLS, and bailu vs Esther Yu, shen yue (who I loved after ALSB but girl is not making any improvements 😭). Other traffic stars like Yang zi is a bit of a hit or miss for me. Liked her in some stuff, hated her in others (like oath of love). But again always open to be proven wrong with their future works!

I honestly hated the character SZ from the beginning and felt no attachment point or even something for me to feel sorry for her. She was manipulative and selfish. I understood her grief and resentment towards the HE but she was way more cruel to the only people who showed her any kindness. There were so many ways to get revenge and she’s already many thousand years out what’s another couple of years gonna do? Really can’t stand people who use and hurt others just for their own self gain regardless of their reason

Kinda sad that the live will probably be the last time we see this cast interact in real time ): with HS being the last bit of content that’s prerecorded. I’m not ready to let them go 😭😭
Someone cast LLD and CXX in a modern drama already. They should’ve done something like One and Only + Forever and Ever 🥲

I would watch that drama but it just sounds so tragic and sad that I couldn’t get myself to watch it. I watched the 4 special eps instead and highlight clips instead. I was really impressed with his performance even in the few clips that I’ve seen!!

yess but I do like that he bulked up recently which helps with the manly charm. of all his outfits in TSL, my fav has to be when he's in the white armor with the pony tail ready for battle — 2nd fav is youqin 1.0 in dark outfit

This was me! I wasn't a big fan of his visuals at first but the more I watched him the more handsome and charismatic he got and now I'm obsessed.

omg !!! I'm legit screaming !! If he truly wants more people to check this drama out and not have everyone wreck the douban score (b/c last time I checked it dropped to like a 7.1), he better just guarantee the epilogue. I think most people rated it horribly bc of the ending. Plus idk what's with the obsession for a BE aesthetic bc given the way douban score dropped, a lot of cnetz don't love a BE/OE ...

Tbh I couldn't get myself to finish LBFAD. I think I dropped it after 2-3 eps, picked it back up until ep 8, dropped again. Then when it was finally released on netflix, I pushed myself to watch to ep 16 and I thought I had given it enough time to find it enjoyable :\ If that's the best xianxia of last year then Idk if there's anything else that can help me get through TSL withdrawal

I actually really enjoyed his socially awkward self bc it makes sense after being in isolation for 1500 years. I'd say at the beginning he tolerates her bc he can't be helped to have his emotions all riled up instead of being a pushover. he definitely reprimands her in his own ways but all with the intention of making her life easier in the immortal realm.

ah thank you for this. I was actually wondering the same thing — why the 2nd leads are getting magazine shoots and other materials while he leads aren't doing as much. makes sense now. I hope they remain as good friends and collaborate on a future project together bc their onscreen chemistry is sizzling.
