idk why everyone’s turning orbit into a villain but I thought he 100% made this show really enjoyable for me. That’s not to say I agreed with his decisions the entire time. imagine if his alliance never happened then this show would be so obvious as to who the handful of players that would quickly progress to the end. if they want to make this a brains game then they need to cast players who are more or less on the same playing field with slightly different strengths. but because there were players who were obviously not good, his alliance made more use of them by taking a different approach to playing. plus it gave these players a chance to *hopefully* show their strengths at a later game since the order of the games played were theoretically random. factoring in the prize money group games it makes sense to not eliminate people so quickly bc numbers can also be a benefit to these games.

I personally am surprised at how people thought dongjae was a good player. I thought he was good at being cunning but if we’re talking about pure smarts then he definitely wasn’t near the level of the final three.

Wow I absolutely loved every minute of this drama. The leads had such sizzling and mature chemistry with amazing banter and dialogue. The dialogues in this show were just phenomenal— quite relatable, witty and even hilarious. I zipped through all 14 episodes in a few days and I literally couldn’t stop myself devouring this drama whole. Highly highly recommend. I’m just so sad it’s over now.

Actually am looking forward to the Chinese remake bc they’re at least putting a spin on the story. Just hope they cast good people and have a good plot

Esp when the OG version isn’t even outdated. I’m starting to get pissed at everyone who justified only watching the remake bc they “couldn’t get into the original” when the remake is 90%+ like the OG, almost frame for frame …

The original ver spent a few episodes setting the emotions and how his death affected her even years after. You need give it a few episodes before the plot starts. I wonder what it is you didn’t enjoy bc this version ripped the plot from the original almost frame for frame ? As someone who has seen both in full I can tell you this version lacks the raw emotions the original ver delivered. Maybe if you can get yourself to push through the first few episodes and actually finish the drama then you’d know what I’m saying.

You do realize without the original there won’t even be this version? Aside from looking a little prettier it doesn’t exceed the original in any aspect.

If you think this version’s plot is amazing, it’s bc it is since it’s 90% like the original storyline. I think this version is not bad as a first pass to the story but once you see how the characters were intended to be like, it’s hard to rate this very highly since a lot of the charm of the original were lost. It’s like a watered down version so yea not bad but not great.

I was thinking Wi Ha joon might've been a better fit and prob couldn't delivered a much stronger performance than AHS

The entire drama isn't gloomy tho, the beginning if prob the gloomiest. There are plenty of hilarious and light moments, esp Li Zi Wei as a character is such a goofball I think you'll love him. The k-drama version isn't even close to what he's meant to be like.

Just curious but where did you see this? I don't see the score statistics being published yet for this drama. But actually this is the situation with the original bc I'm seeing 1% of voters straight voting 1's when this wasn't the case prior to this remake being released.

That's great that you like this ver! I was simply sharing thoughts on where this ver fell short for me given that it's almost frame for frame to the original. It's just a little sad that this will be the new face of the story esp since it's the ver that's on netflix so some people won't even bat an eye towards the original bc it's not a korean drama and not as accessible.

I think the rating is quite fair? There are some k-ver fans that straight up rated the original with 1's simply bc they're annoyed.

The first couple of episodes are meant to set up the story and show the emotional impact of his death. So yes it's supposed to be dark and gloomy, mysterious even. The true story starts with the first time travel. It's fine if the original is not for you. The story is really complex and there are true emotional highs and lows so I can see how not everyone can handle that.

I think every remake will face scrutiny. If you're following the story this closely, sometimes frame for frame, then execution needs to be spot on. Or you need to add something to the story bc if not what's the point of the remake. It's not like the original is super old that a modern remake feels necessary. I hope you see where I'm coming from. At least OG fans are watching this drama and giving criticisms where it's due. Fans of the k-drama ver are doing the true bashing making comments like the original actors/actress are ugly (which they're not?) all without watching the actual drama. If anything wouldn't you be irked if the comments here were "so and so are ugly, so I won't watch it".

I've seen almost every iteration of It started with a kiss and Hana Yori Dango/Boys over flowers so trust me, I'm not averse to remakes and not someone to criticize a remake simply bc it is one.

If you think this drama is a masterpiece and haven't seen the original then you're missing out on the true masterpiece. This drama for the most part follows the original plot pretty closely but misses the mark on emotional impact, endearing characters, and iconic ost. The murder mystery was also not as suspenseful. I can see how the average drama viewer (in particular people who only watch k-dramas) can enjoy this one bc the original story is just written so incredibly well and no other k-dramas have a plot remotely as close to it. However, in terms of overall execution, I can't say I'd recommend this version.

Jeon yeo bin was the standout in terms of performance between the 3. The 2 male leads unfortunately were forgettable and bland. Also the 90's settings also took me out bc it looked so modern. Did they really time traveled? lol

For those who are bashing on fans of the original show, have you seen the original show? If you have then you'd see how sound the criticisms for this adaptation are. Hope everyone gives the original a chance bc many will pass on it simply bc it's not a k-drama which is a shame (just as how many are only tuning in to this one bc it's a k-drama)

open ending (can interpret as happy). but they started filming the movie this month so I have high hopes it'll be a true happy ending
