you gave me the generic definition for pre-production but you should read up on what pre-production means in the context of drama filming. There's a clear difference between "live shooting" and "pre-production" which I don't think you quite understand. when you say the script reading process I'm assuming you mean the initial table read that gets highly publicized to kick off the start of filming. that's usually to get everyone in the same room to have a general understanding of the tone of the drama and character design to help the cast get a better idea of the characters they're about to undertake. by this time the cast might have scripts for a handful of episodes not the entire show.

Yes going through the plot -- every drama and show goes through a plot and clearly not every show does it well. I don't think it says much about the quality of a script just bc it's simply "going through the plot"

I don't get why you're trying to die on a hill for this writer. since it's a pre-produced show she actually had more time to develop her script compared to writers working on dramas that are shooting live (i.e. concurrent with airing). yes she doesn't need to be perfect but she should at least worked out a plot that makes sense without glaring plot holes.

you know you're contradicting yourself right? pre-produced means they're done filming in its entirety before airing occurs and there is a very low chance of anything changing based on the general public's opinion. the cast may know the general gist and theme of the show but having a good theme/overview doesn't mean execution will be good. you'd be crazy to assume that. the cast probably placed trust in the writer because she's had good works in the past (namely the giant that is CLOY) so I doubt they went into this assuming it would sink and what can they do when they're already knee deep in it than to do their best to salvage it.

do you think they got all 16 episodes worth of script in one go before signing on? and do you think there weren’t any changes to the script since production and filming started ?? are you dumb or what. it may be pre-produced but that doesn’t mean the writing was 100% finished and the cast knew what was gonna happen in its entirety. had they known how this was gonna go down I doubt they would’ve signed on

I’m sorry KSH and KJW and the entire cast crew and director. You all worked your absolute hardest to make a trash script watchable and I commend your efforts. I think for that I won’t even contest the record breaking viewership for this show bc I know everyone but the writer gave it their hearts. I hope we’ll get to meet again in a drama with quality writing bc you all deserved that 🫶🏻

I’m sorry but I’d have to disagree 😭. the writing was only good for maybe 4/16 episodes so far. there has been good parts sprinkled here and there but aside from that it’s been absolutely atrocious and only been getting worse. a weekend or 2 ago I’d still tell people this is worth the watch bc the acting is phenomenal but now I’d prob tell people to steer clear of this drama and just watch hae in x baek hyunwoo’s compilations online. probably the only thing worth watching at this point

I’m purely finishing this drama for KSH and KJW and they deserve a drama with quality writing bc this ain’t it. let’s see how this ship sinks in the last episode bc I’m ready for it to be over.

it’s been years and I still think of them 💕 Lovely Runner is an actual time travel kdrama that I would recommend to those who love SOOD. And definitely watch Shining for one thing. I’d say these 3 are my top picks for time travel romance

I’m 18 eps in and admittedly watching it in the background but I still can’t grasp the ML’s character. he’s flirting and ruffling her feathers one minute and is cold another minute. I thought they’d reveal why at this point but his actions just don’t make sense? and how he set up that wedding and insisted on it despite realizing his feelings just doesn’t make sense to me. unless I’m missing something then can someone pls explain bc I’m close to dropping

yes! but watch the drama first. the movie isn’t really a continuation per se but more of an alternative timeline. it does give closure to the drama tho but I won’t elaborate since it’ll be a spoiler.

Tbh I'm conflicted with QOT. I admit I still find myself looking forward to each episode because I'm invested but at the same time it has a lot of flaws in writing and pacing. I'd say the first 3 eps were quite weak. Then I got hooked up until ep 9(?) and now I feel like the pacing/writing is deteriorating . Hoping the last 4 episodes will end strong. I'd still recommend checking it out yourself since it's not a dumpster fire (yet and hopefully won't get to that point). The cast (esp the leads) are top tier and their chemistry is top notch

Oh I always assume there are more than 1 😅. a lot of dramas have multiple writers on board to keep up with the filming schedule bc they tend to film concurrently with the drama's airing. this drama could have just 1 since I think it's all pre-filmed.

I'm a long-time asian drama viewer so I think I've seen every plotline possible under the sun. I just find it frustrating when a drama gets this good of a cast with great budget but the writers squander its potential away. I'm just giving constructive criticisms not bashing so come for me I guess but I stand by my opinion. I think this drama could've been a lot better if the writers made better choices
