Coming back for my yearly comment to say this is still the greatest cdrama ever and still remains in my number 1 spot despite seeing it for the first time 4 years ago!

I also just realized today as i’m about to do my rewatch that my all time favorite OST, which is the theme song for this show, WAS SUNG BY LIU YUNING???

Like you guys don’t get it, one of the biggest reasons i love this show is that the theme song is ENGRAINED in my brain and I never looked up who sung it but it’s literally my favorite OST ever. Now years later, I just realized it’s sung by yuning, aka one of my new favorite actors AND he’s the lead role in Prisoner of beauty which holds the second place on my greatest cdramas ever list. That’s so crazy!!! Fate is so cool!!

This is why every tiktok edit you see on that app is not 100% trustworthy. I started this because I saw an edit about how these 2 have such good chemistry and this is such an “amazing drama” but they really lied. Not only are the tags misleading because this is a “Female chases Male first” drama but the writing was horrible. This grown woman quit her job and moved back home and suddenly ran into this younger guy and was just obsessed with him out of nowhere! It was so strange like no matter what he was up to, she somehow had to insert herself into his life. Even after he literally told her “stop messing with me”, she still found a way to insert herself into his business. I hate FLs like this like… do you have no dignity? This man is telling you to go away and you’re just vying for his attention, even when he’s not interested in you. It’s sad. I was literally hoping she would take the hint and back off & then maybe he’d realize that he actually wants her or something and we’d get him chasing her but nope. She’s 2 years older than him, yet she’s following him around like a lost puppy. This was a mess, i’m so annoyed.

This show still gets a 9/10 from me because it was still really good even though i do agree that the murder plot was kinda wonky lol. The biggest part for me was at some point, they claimed that the stab wound was a clean stab straight to the heart, and said that Laik couldn’t do that because he was drunk at the time and wouldn’t have been able to stab him that cleanly while inebriated. So how the hell did the person who it ACTUALLY was, manage to perfectly stab him in one go right in the heart while they were falling? That didn’t make sense to me tbh. It would’ve made way more sense if the person who did it was professional or a hired hit. If it was an accident like they say it was, wouldn’t the stab wound be more sloppy? And it being sloppy would make it more likely that it would’ve been Laik because he was drunk.

But i guess it doesn’t really matter tbh, I enjoyed the romance way more than the other plot.

You don't have to accept her but there's no need to send hate to someone who's trying their best. And just like it took 200 episodes for you to get used to somin, im sure you can wait another 200 to get used to yeeun. Unless you just want to make up a reason to dislike her.

In no way is she an "F tier" member. Actually, she's right on par with all of the other members. Each member on that show has their own concept and she's right on par with everyone else. The only thing she isn't that great at is games but she's been improving. People forget that she isn't a variety show veteran like everyone else on that cast. All of them having been doing running man for 5+ years while she just started out. Criticize her all you want but saying she doesn't deserve to be on the show or "shoved down your throats" is a stretch because even if they decided to replace her with someone else, no one would be able to be good right away. She fits perfectly in the cast and y'all having a problem with her makes absolutely no sense. I get maybe thinking shes rude because of her gen z personality but she's literally the sweetest person ever and the entire cast loves her so there's no quarrels or awkward moments. Literally what is there to dislike about her besides the fact that she's not so good at the games (which she's actively trying to get better at)?

People hate on her because they still can’t get over somin and that’s so sad. I feel like we can all be sad that somin left and understand that she doesn’t want to come back because she’s focusing on acting while also uplifting the new member who’s doing her best. The whole cast adores her so much, idk why people can’t just accept that and accept her. She’s such a sweetheart.

calling her “rude and entitled” is such a stretch. The house episode was completely normal with her saying she just didn’t want gifts that she wasn’t going to use because then she would end up discarding them, which would defeat the purpose of the gift. It’s insane that you’re only calling her entitled when in the last episode, JaeSeok himself even said he worried that the Christmas gift would be things that they didn’t want. And all of them even clowned some of the gifts for being “useless”. Where is the outrage for the rest of the cast then? Or is that hate only towards ye eun because you simply don’t like her and want a reason to hate on her?

I hate that she’s the only member getting hate when the whole cast loves and adore her. People hating her because of her “mukbang” character when jaeseok was the one that started that with her. The cast or the writers usually coin these concepts for her and no one ever hates on them for it. She always takes the fall and it sucks. She’s such a sweet and likable person yet people love to say things like this about her. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I just hate to see such a good person get bashed like she has just because people like one person over the other. She’s trying her best and that’s all that matters.

It's super obvious that you're a zhao lusi fan just here to hate on esther and that's so sad bro. There are multiple tik toks of esther online right now, and this is coming from someone who's a casual fan of esther. I'm actually about to give this a shot BECAUSE of a tiktok I saw of esther speaking in english from this drama.

Yes, she does have her childish acting characters but i'm so tired of ya'll blaming that on her when thats how her roles are written. When she played a serious role in My Journey To You, ya'll also tried to say her acting was "too serious". She can never win with people like you around. So many actresses (INCLUDING LUSI) have roles where they've acted childish/used high pitched voice actors and ya'll applaud them but with esther, its always "ShE's sO AnNoYiNg" 🙄. Ya'll need to grow tf up and stop hating on random people that don't even know you. It's one thing to criticize her out of true constructive reasons but blatantly hating on someone is so pathetic and low & that says a lot about the kind of life you live and the type of person you are.

thinking about watching this but i have 2 questions, how long does the body switch last and does he get hung up on the fact that she looks like his dead princess? spoilers are okay!

Just started watching so i’m at episode 1 and the story isn’t bad so far but MY GOD is the lip syncing AWFUL!! It’s probably the worst lip syncing i’ve seen in a drama in a long time!! Literally the FL will say something but her lips don’t match up AT ALL. It’s so uncanny and I hate it so much! Hopefully it improves in further episodes but omg it’s ruining the quality of this show for me!

Since this show came out, i’ve tried to watch it 4 different times and each time ive dropped it. I can’t do it. Why is this rated so high? It really saddens me because Hidden Love is one of my top 10 cdramas of all time and the ML is one of my favorite actors but this show just doesn’t do it for me. It’s SO depressing. Like I feel like it’s a chore to watch almost. Then you have the fact that both the leads are so dull. I understand why the FL is dull because of everything she’s been though but this isn’t the Sang Yan i’m used to. The Sang Yan in Hidden Love was always so playful with his sister. Of course, he could’ve been hiding what he was going through but why was this Sang Yan so emo and broody. Idk. I just wish the characters had a bit more personality. That way, the depressing mood wouldn’t overpower everything. Anyways, im unfortunately just going to fully drop this. After 4 tries, maybe this super realistic and traumatizing/triggering drama just isn’t my cup of tea. 5/10.

yesss a season 2! they better keep the same FL or i will nawt be watching! The chemistry was off the charts in S1! That drunken kiss is for sure one of my top 5 cdrama kisses!

Yeeuni is confirmed to be on the show now (like i said before…) and i’m so exited!! I can’t wait to see what she’ll be like with the boys! I already know her chemistry with YJS from running man and it’s so cute how he treats her like a neice. I feel like with BWS, she’s gonna treat him like she did with Jin from BTS during Kians B&B. The one i’m most excited to see is her and Kwang soo!! I loved Kwang Soo on running man and all his other variety appearances are always so funny! I wonder if they’re going to give older brother/younger sibling vibes, especially since kwangsoos girlfriend is close with yeeun!! I’m so excited! What a great cast of people that YJS has assembled!

just started episode 1 and i’m just coming here to say, i have never recognized a voice from a drama OST before until today LOL. As soon as she started singing, I was like wait a minute… i recognize that voice from somewhere. Only to find out that it’s the same person that sung the OST for Moonlight Mystique & Starry Love, Sa DingDing!!! She eats so bad that I just couldn’t help but listen to the whole thing. Chefs Kiss!!!

It could’ve been the “meeting” part where all the members of the show meet up for a quick meal and discuss what they’re want to do this season. Either way, it came from BWS mouth not mine so i don’t think he’s lying

i still would like a season 2 to see more of the leads as a couple since that ending was disappointing but i think the story was solved by like episode 14/15.

i’m gonna be honest, idk why people are complaining about the ending. It’s been like 3 years since i last saw this but the show was so good that I still remember how the ending went and I think what needed to be wrapped up was wrapped up nicely!
