So, this was just OK. I really love the premise because we got to see her want to change herself for another guy but then find a guy who accepts her for who she is without having to change anything. I think that was beautiful. However, i feel like we spent way too long in the beginning on scenes of the FL and the SML. He never even really spoke to her either, he just said maybe 5 words to her then went back to mogging the camera LOL. Idk why they spent so long on that whole crush plot line in the beginning, just to give us literally 1 to 2 days of happiness with our main couple. I feel like they could’ve wrapped up the crush storyline in 20 minutes and then spent most of the movie showing the main couple fall in love & navigate HS. That would’ve made the angsty moment feel way more impactful because we would’ve been attached to their relationship. But since we barely had any of that, it fell flat for me when he left. Idk.

They were still a cute couple though, just wish we had less of that beginning plotline. 7.5/10!!

I hope if they do try a reincarnation trope at the end, then its the kind where the male lead remembers his past life. To me, even though it may be a different body, the soul is the same so I count it as the same person! And i feel the same about the softie thing! He was so scary around her in the beginning and now he's like a teddy bear 🥹

You know, I really wanted to like this drama because I like the FL in other shows but my god is this bad 😭 Like I keep trying to find ways to give it grace but it’s difficult! The only good thing I can say about this is that the leads are attractive and the little friend group she developed was cute. But everything else just made NO SENSE. I’m only at episode 7 and I can’t take any more i’m sorry.

The pacing was terrible, literally what was even the point of adding the “past” clips in the beginning 💀Then the FLs character just was so confusing. She was raised with a mask, and was put on the battlefield since she was a child. Her family was horrible to her and she was also bullied in school. So shouldn’t she be a bit more tsundere, kinda like the ML? Like I know that having 2 tsundere leads isn’t fun but then in those flashbacks they showed us in episode 1, they could’ve included some moments of her being “quirky” with her soldiers so we know that she’s always been that way. But since the flashback in episode 1 was so dark & serious, I expected a more “hard” character from her but instead we got someone who’s talkative & a bit whiny when it comes to the ML! How was she a general before this? It just didn’t make any sense to me 😭

Then the romance… omg. Like i’m a romance girly 1000% but the romance here was so confusing? Like why is she practicing with her commander and then all of a sudden, they’re embracing… in like episode 2 💀...... they JUST met??? Can we learn more about her/him and watch her progress first before we see them build their relationship? And the fight scenes were alright too i guess, if you look past the fact that there were obvious male stunt double scenes whenever the FL was supposed to be fighting.

Anyways, I guess if I were to give this SOME kind of grace, the cinematography was beautiful and so was the set design!! But that’s about it…

I’m just gonna go ahead and drop this here and then come back and leave a rating once the ending is out!!

i would say the SML was Sakamoto Kazushi since he spent more time with the FL.

I honestly don’t know what to say about this show. I watched it because i’m a sucker for shows about music, however, this was just… off. Firstly, it felt like the meat of the show was missing. Like I feel like it needed way more scenes for me to feel connected to the characters but instead it just kind of felt.. flat? The music was pretty good so that was a plus but the story?? It was not that great. Also, i’m a romance girly through and through PLUS a sucker for the main characters but something went wrong here. I feel like the FL fell for the ML but the ML was way too focused on music to truly like the FL. It’s so crazy to me that in the beginning, I was joking to myself about how she had more chemistry with the SML, just for him to end up liking her. I haven’t had SLS in such a long time but this did it! While I find the ML hot asf, his character just did not give love interest. It gave music prodigy that is so out of touch with reality, a relationship would just never work. However, somehow the show did it I guess.

I’m just gonna give this a 5/10 and move on. I’m giving it some grace because the cinematography was good but… that’s about it.

I don’t think the fact that she has a “fanclub” matters lol. The only guy she cared about (atleast in the beginning) was the ML. She quite literally risked her life for him over and over again just to be called nosy, annoying, etc by him. There was even a point in the show where the ML himself realized how much of a jerk he was being (which means the writers purposefully wrote him as a jerk) and I was hoping to see the both of them make up.

And “FL chases the cold ML first” is not my cup of tea, i’m sorry. For some reason, writers who write the ML as a “cold” ML, always make him degrade and treat the FL like a nuisance. That’s just my personal take on it. That trope is just not for me, sorry! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions!

You know, i NEVER believe comments when they say that the ending was horrible/confusing because 9 times out of 10, they’re usually wrong. But not this time. Omfg what was that ending????? I struggled in the beginning because this was another one of those dramas where the FL sacrifices everything for the ML, just for him to be a complete ahole to her and belittle her/treat her like dirt & then i thought maybe we’d get a redemption arc for him but we got… THAT instead??? And then the last few episodes just shifted into something entirely different! So upsetting. Idk how this is sitting at an 8.6 but i guess everyone has different tastes.

However, I will say that I did really like the ML’s acting even though i found his character annoying in the beginning so i’m gonna check out his other work!!

Well said! I honestly haven't been able to sit down and watch the episode because the hate comments on the preview clips were so bad! Ever since the 15th anniversary episode, people have just been dogpiling on her and analyzing every little thing she does! It gets so tiring because people forget that she's not a seasoned variety star like the rest of the cast is. She's going to make mistakes and because of her age gap, things may be different then what the OG cast is used to. I feel like viewers need to understand that if the cast is not bothered by it, why are watchers writing essays and getting angry for??? Refusing a gift that you wont use should be done more often, or else, don't be mad if you find out its in the trash!

It's been feeling like people are just jumping on the opportunity to bandwagon hate her and its so annoying. I love running man a lot but hopefully in the future, they learn to protect their cast members better because I can't imagine how she'd feel reading all those comments telling her to leave the show just because she didn't accept a few of the gifts. (and from the clips, it looks like she rejected them in a kind way so I'm not sure what the problem is!) Ugh.

Omfg... I literally had to stop live watching the drama because these comments are so gross its crazy. I guess ill wait until it fully airs and then come back to it. I was hoping to watch and fangirl with a nice community but everyone is taking pride in bashing the FL and giving all the credit to the ML! I thought it had calmed down since I last commented here but nope! It's worse. I was super excited too like both the FL and ML are actors that I adore but this community is so toxic! People are acting like the ML can do no wrong. I get that the writers gave him a lot of growth but that doesn't mean that we should just forget what we originally saw in like the 1st 10 episodes lol.

Like the female lead is soo much better than me cause Idc how nice you've been to me or how much I've fallen for you, if there is even a slight chance I could lose my life because I fully put my trust in you, i'm going to put my guard up at all times. Like I get feeling bad for him because that's the point, the writers want the viewers to understand that everyone keeps misunderstanding him. But the hate aimed towards the FL is so weird and misplaced. SYM literally watched this man manipulate her character into falling in love with him (to the point of getting her pregnant like damn how hard did he manipulate her for it to get to that point!!) and then he married her sister/ got her sister pregnant and then brutally betrayed her even at her last breath. I will always bring that up because it seems like everyone in the comments are just like "well its a new script so she shouldn't use that against him." Hello? Just the fact that he manipulated her into falling for him the FIRST TIME in the original story makes it even more understandable that she wouldn't trust his advances/changes in the new story! In her mind, she'd probably think "what if he's just manipulating me again, and then i'd end up dying?" It makes so much sense that she'd still not fully trust him, not matter how much she feels for him! I dont get why yall are so hard on her!

I aslo feel like people are also forgetting that this is a 40 episode drama and cdrama couples do NOT get together that fast. I just think that ya'll need to trust the process and stop aiming your hate towards SYM. If you're so mad at how NH is getting treated, maybe blame the writer!

i’m actually kinda baffled at these comments rn. Yall need to STAND UP. There is no way yall are hating on the FL rn. “Why is she hurting our poor Nan Heng, he’s just misunderstood 🥺”. Bffr!! Did yall forget that he tried to KILL her multiple times to “shut her up”? Did yall forget that the FL has the original plot in her head, in which he married her, got her pregnant, HAD AN AFFAIR WITH HER SISTER, GOT HER SISTER PREGNANT & then chose her sister over her and WATCHED HER BLEED OUT AND DIE 💀 like, if i was her i’d also be thinking of ways to get rid of his ass. Even if she knows the script has changed, that makes it worse imo. Because that means the ending is unpredictable. People are saying she’s doing all this based on things that haven’t happened yet, but the keyword there is YET. She’s in an unfamiliar place with no idea of what’s going to happen. Ofc she needs to protect herself first.

I am enjoying watching Nan Hengs story unfold and enjoying watching them fall for each other. But I don’t think the FL is wrong for protecting herself. I also do think their relationship is toxic but that’s what happens when the writer starts us off with a man who tortures the woman he’ll end up with for an entire day 💀 they basically let us know at the beginning that this won’t be an easy relationship.

I agree w everything else but never that a woman who needs to protect herself is “wrong” or “pretending to be a victim” when she’s just trying to be one step ahead of a man who’s extremely smart and scheming & could change his mind at any moment.

Yeeun has added so much by being on the show already. The cast members love her a lot and so does korea! Imo, running man IS a game show but i feel like what makes it more special is the cast members having that tight knit family bond and Yeeun being the cute empty headed foodie maknae is such a perfect fit! Having someone who’s to competitive or too serious wouldn’t balance out the cast enough since most of the OG cast already has that character. A lot of people (me included) have said that they tune in to running man now just to see her. She adds her own personal flavor to the show and i feel like it’d be a little bland without her now.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion though so i’m not saying you’re wrong!

Okay so i’m enjoying this so far but i need to know something important before i decide to keep watching or not (please put it in a spoiler tag):

Does he get his revenge or does he leave it up in the air? because while i love the romance and all, im surprisingly more invested in seeing him get his revenge. I think it was after seeing how cruel they were to his little sister like that was a HARD watch. So please spoil it for me, does he get his revenge and also does he reveal himself to the man he’s getting his revenge on??

about to watch this for the first time so i haven’t seen it yet but i just came here to say that the FLs voice actor is LITERALLY in everything 😂 the way i immediately recognized her voice in the first few minutes of the show! I remember her the most from “The Blue Whisper”, “DC” & “Love and Redemption” 😂😂😂 Her voice is so recognizable to me now!!

i read your comment before watching this show and as i was watching, i figured it out. it seems like he learns the moves of his opponents as he’s fighting and uses it back on them. Like his first fight, he let himself get hit to watch his movements and then overpowered him from there. Then in his second fight, he used the fighting moves from his first opp to take down his second opp (you can see that when he shouts “you wanted to see seung-joons move? i’ll show you then.”) and then finally, his third fight in ep 4, his opp knew jujitsu and almost took him out but somehow during the fight, he started using his opps jujitsu moves against him. Plus he also saw how his friend fought the other guy and used his friends “fan service” move as a finishing move. I think that’s why he keeps getting better because he’s learning fast.
