Title The King's Woman Spoiler
I really love this show but it's gotten to the point where Im skipping some of the scenes with Senior Jing…
agree 100% i had a look of stunned WTF as she left the palace--and then that WTF turned into full blown intolerance because she knew she was going to go back so she left, just to advance a subplot of Jing hating her and more importantly the emperor beyond words, just to go back, endangering the lives of so many! earlier in the series she was much more intelligent and aware of the situation....maybe the shock of the palace has destroyed some of those smarts?

i actually really like Jing Ke because to me he balances out the equation---and I like how much she loved him--and I can handle a weak female lead, but not someone as inconsistent as her--is it just me or does she just change personalities constantly? she's supposed to be really awesome and then just to advance plot they dumb her down A LOT

i think this show was like written for Zheng vin because his character has so much more depth than hers and he is acting so well

Title The King's Woman Spoiler
Okay, so I finished episode 16. Does anyone think it is interesting that she is acting like the emperor? She decided,…
@saxonblues89 I agree with you 100% about her doing to him what his mom did but I still think it is interesting how she is in a lot of ways very similar to the emperor in that they both disregard the feelings of the one they love in order to obtain what they want; she thinks she is doing the right thing but really she is just exercising her own view of what justice is and love without asking Jing what he thinks about all of this--ultimately very selfish like what you said

Title The King's Woman Spoiler
Okay, so I finished episode 16. Does anyone think it is interesting that she is acting like the emperor? She decided, all on her own, to keep the news of her child from Jing and to have him hate her because she wants him to live a long life. She decided, and while selfless, it is also incredibly selfish. Jing gets no say in this. And it will likely make him act and do things he would regret if he knew the truth. The emperor forces her to stay with him because he loves her and believes that he can protect her and keep her safe and is the best partner for her. Is that not the same kind of mindset? I mean she isn't resorting to actions that humiliate people or deliberately try to hurt people like him, but his childhood and relationships are all leading to this. And her childhood has made her into this noble martyr but at the end of the day all they wind up doing is hurting the people they love!

Unpopular Opinion: Many of the scenes are a bit too slow paced for my liking. For example, the walking scenes…
I agree sometimes the dramatic effect they are going for is really over the top and unneeded, like an American Soap Opera

I have a TON of theories about the plot--and what will be the ultimate conclusion--but i have a feeling this is 1)a kind of full circle drama and 2)a show where everyone will eventually suffer the consequences of the choices they made early on (which describes a ton of shows I know)--updates through episode 16--

I don't like the things Zheng does but for the character he is portraying, the writing is consistent. OMG is it not the same for her. It's like she is a tool for the writers to bring out certain facets of his personality or plot points ; they need to deliver the same amount of depth to her that they have done for Zheng, otherwise she just falls flat. it isn't the actresses fault, it's the writing.

I am liking it a lot so far 8/10 but I just don't like how it promotes abuse as being normal and romantic.…
@Queen Cherry I really don't think they are trying to promote abuse being normal I think they are trying to develop his character so you can understand why he is the way he is--not in anyway making it okay but at the very least helping the audience to understand that there is a reason why he turned out the way he is--I think if she just kind of collapsed in his arms and didn't fight back or if she suddenly fell in love with him, that would be much more exploitative but she is clearly unhappy with him and she clearly thinks his actions are wrong and doesn't want to be there nor is she in love with him other than the fact that the actor is handsome i don't think anyone really wants to be in her shoes--if they do then it probably speaks more to other people's fantasies--the material is controversial but if she really falls in love with him i would write it off to stocholm syndrome

Nobody yell at me, but I really was not a fan of Dilmurat Dilraba in the other drama I've seen her in. (Peach…
I will be honest she is kind of like a supporting actor in her story--the emperor really is the most interesting person in the show. and the script writing is a big inconsistent with her character--she can be really smart and then they have her do things that I think are inconsistent with her character. she also doesn't have as much depth as him--and I think he gets all the depth because they really want the audience to understand why he is so paranoid and ruthless so you are less condemning of the things he does (I think) i just finished 14 and she did something super inconsistent with her character (and dumb) but overall the show is good---and the voice actress is not high pitched her voice is very even

Plot is similar to Empress Ki. I have a hard time shipping these forceful lover kings... Lets see if I warm up…
@KMR I agree completely I just finished episode 14 and the comments had me thinking that he was going to be like serial killer awful but he is just acting like how you might expect someone from history to act and I don't they they make it exploitative or anything

it's funny you say that because I kept thinking of empress of china during a lot of it...except instead of a woman it's a guy....and some of the harem stuff was similar just not as full blown messed up

I dunno why but I really like that so far, Li'er maintains her feelings for Jing Ke. It lends a certain air of credibility. But then I am only on episode 12 of 48. also, summaries up through episode 12. i like went all out cuz i am a nut
On The King's Woman Aug 28, 2017
alright just finished episode 7--I think that the emperor is extremely in love--and lust--with her but I don't think he knows how to love someone. He's never been loved, and if he has, it has only ever appeared in the worse ways--he is just a tool for others to use, everyone who has professed to love him only takes, or betrayed and abandoned him, so why wouldn't he express his own love in the same way? what makes the situation so sad is that he really does love her, and she not only doesn't love him, but has only been surrounded by good people her whole life. they are so different! and I feel so bad for Jing--I think they would have led a happy life if this never happened...but that would be less interesting to watch...

episode 4 summary a lot! i think this episode explains a lot about why Zheng basically is the way he is towards Li'Er in future episodes--
