@TianQi I just did not like the actors/characters. They felt flat/uninteresting and didn't seem to act very well (minus whoever played the Queen, she did a good job but her role was kind of minor). For something that takes up such a huge chunk of my time I tend to take the shows a bit more seriously--if I don't like the acting/story by episode 10 then I have learned to abandon it because I am always disappointed if I don't

sorry i was looking for the exact article--i am a fan of the show because i love periods and i enjoy the dialogue/plot even if it is fairly predictable (but thats almost every drama) I read that even though both song of phoenix and fighter of destiny have low reviews in China, everyone still watches them

By episode 20 things start to get more heavy

The only issue with dramafever is that it STRONGLY favors kdramas and they tend to favor modern dramas (in my opinion) I prefer Cdramas and historical dramas...

ok so I am 20 episodes in and stuff is starting to get real

.....at episode 19 and all i can say is that Qu Yuan is making SO MANY ENEMIES. He doesn't play the game of planning/manipulating/tricking

also, Zhang Viann hasn't appeared yet, I think, I am at episode 40 for Empress and it is nearing the end of her first 'romance' I think by episode 50 she will be in the 'new romance' because the emperor will die, historically, and then she marries his son and becomes empress

I think it is an amazing show, with beautiful costumes and sets (minus the annoying censoring they did with the strip) and stunning make up. Yes, a lot of characters will die. I was surprised in episode 1 that a seemingly important character died. Almost all the major characters die (it covers this woman's whole life by the way) and every 10 episodes, I do an 'in memoriam' listing everyone who has died in the past 10 episodes because I write episode summaries for each episode. if you are curious, you can read a couple and see if you will like the series but I think anyone who enjoys historicals and harem dramas will like this. the script is jam packed with information. it took them three years to write the script for the show!

If anyone has watched the trailer, does anyone notice that they throw things on the ground A LOT?

I can't compare it to eternal love. I think if you do you won't like the show because eternal love is on a whole different level of awesome nothing I have seen really compares to it yet

Also it is 96 episodes long and she has 2 different love stories
