you really got me at that soccer ball thing. I mean, I've never been hit before with it, so, does the hit really…
Maybe if you're 90 years old, have Parkinson' and serious heart disease, and you were standing on a banana peel and tripped and hit your head on an iron spike. Otherwise, no.
Have you noticed how infrquently soccer players suffer blunt trauma injuries? I mean in real life, not BL, where an uke will be knocked out by a soft ball if he even looks at a sports field.
Awful. This was really a comedy - it had to be or Haram's pursuit would be creepy. But for some reason they decided they had to go dark and the last few episodes were just dreary and boring, with one of the main characters just moping all the time.
And the cliches... Ugh. Seriously, the overheard phone call thing? That's the first refuge of a bad and lazy writer.
Anyway, I liked the first half, which was funny. The later eps were nearly unwatchable.
Happenstance's ending was so beautiful I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it. This ending was not that,…
A comedy BL would be wonderful - not just a drama with comedy in it, but a comedy. It would be fun to watch the main pair trying to out-badboy each other.
Well, 20 & 45 is possible, I guess, but that's a long time to carry a torch. Also, Couldn't they have just had Cooper play his older self? Just style him older and put some grey in his hair.
Well, 6 hours is a pretty long time. Slow burn is fine, but it's kind of going in circles. Ep 6 got them moving,…
I do like the main pair - I'm just getting to the point that I ff through a lot. I think Pat is cute, but his character is a little immature and bland. But I could stare at Jeng all day, and I like the complexity of his character, although lately it's been less complex.
Put made it clear why he went awol though. Unlike Phat who was always aware of his sexuality it wasn’t same…
Everyone can understand uncertainty - but Put's behavior was unacceptable. Not being ready for a relationship is one thing - understandable and if you're not ready, you're not ready. But he was cruel and left Pat with unresolved feelings and heartbreak, which is callous and selfish. Maybe he's clearer about his sexuality, but that doesn't mean he's a good bet for Pat.
okay people complaining about it being slow paced, bro its slow burn what do you expect also the series is literally…
Well, 6 hours is a pretty long time. Slow burn is fine, but it's kind of going in circles. Ep 6 got them moving, but the episode was weighed down by too many unnecessary characters and plotlines.
I really feel bad for Ben. Guys who are criticizing him for acting skills are free to do it. Im not addressing…
The problem with the pacing is the opposite. Pat suddenly decided to get together with Put which made no sense in the story.
As far as the main couple goes, the pace of their relationship development is fine - it's that everything else is dull as cardboard. We didn't need to spend 13 minutes on shrimp donuts - the point could be made in 1 minute. Or do we need to have characters sit around and talk about details of their work? If it's not relevant to the plot, it shouldn't be there. What could be a decent romance is weighed down by too many extraneous and pointless diversion. Like what was the point of Kong? It was just time wasted.
Yes that chair is romantic moment .Isn't that supposed to be the case for most of the romantic series? Many including…
I don't find that cute - it's a cliche and people don't act like that. The cooking was cute, because that is how people behave. Violating someone's personal space and staring at them from 6 inches distance is aggressive and would be frightening or at least confusing.
I don't undertstand your comment about criticising only this series, as in I don't know what you meant. The purpose of criticizing is that this is a discussion forum and the point of it is to share opinions. Not all of them will be positive.
This is incompetently written, not that this is unusual for a BL. The first 15 minutes was about nothing other than a "shirmp donut". And workplace intrigue can be interesting. but people just doing routine work isn't exactly riveting. And that moment where Jeng adjusted Pat's chair was ridiculous. Was that supposed to be a "moment"? It was weird and creepy - Jeng is way, way too takl to bend over like that ane stick his face in Pat's.
And the ending of the episode made no sense - there was no setup for that. Pat is so childish that it's really hard to understand what all these guys see in him. I mean, Put won him over by using a silly voice with a stuffed animal. Which apparently cancels out his having totally abandoned Pat last time around.
I do get Put needing time to accept being gay - i did too - but you can't just disappear on someone.
Anyway, poor Big gets another bit part as an annoying person. I wish someone would put him in a leading role.
Wait what? A little help from Put and Pat is considering going back with him when he had clearly shown no interest…
Anyone who would spit up food for trace amounts of celery is not an adult. Celery has to be the most mild taste - about as strong as water. I want to like Pat, but he's shallow and childish. Whenever anyone asks him anything, he looks like there's a bad smell in the room.
The character of Justin is as sexy as a potato and as charming as bed of nails. The actor who plays him however,…
I generally have similar tastes to you, but not for this one. Maybe it's because I like muscles and he has none whatsoever. Tommy was a gymnast, and Raynold... nothing lacking there.
The childhood connection has not born its relevance yet, but we're only 2 eps into an 8 ep show. Also, I checked…
To be fair, football requires 22 players whereas basketball has 10 and can look like a real game with 6, plus it's on a small court with a hard surface that's easier to mount cameras on rather than a 100-meter long often-muddy grass field.
I agree with the first part of what you said. I couldn't help but think--he threw up on Patt. Then, when they…
The reason I don't feel the chemistry is largely for the reasons you're describing. It's a string of cliches and unnatural occurrences - how could they stand the smell of vomit all over their clothes? How did Tai end up with changed clothes? Where was the natural progression of conversations? If it's all just artifice rather than authentic interaction, it's just two good-looking people staring at each other. Why do they like each other? Because they're soulmates? That's telling us, not showing us. What do they have in common in the way of interests or experiences? Being told they're soulmates is meaningless - I want to see it.
Both actors are very good, and they're both looking at each other like they're into each other, but they're not in a story that makes sense or has any realism. And I don't mean the fantasy schtick with the rain telepathy, (which is honestly random and silly), because that's the universe, and as long as they stick to clear "rules", I'm fine with it. But they still need to behave like real people, not just check boxes on a list of BL cliches.
sometimes I wonder if me and people watch the same series honestly. they don't have chemistry? what is your standard…
Well, wtf is your comment? At least I actually expressed something. But I'll answer you - chemistry is when there is heat between the characters that makes you believe they are into each other. Chemistry is not a bunch of cliched set-pieces that are basically signs reading "X likes Y" - like the lean-in to ask him to dinner. That isn't normal human beahvior, it's just a BL cliche, and so it's meaningless - sort of like If we're together and it's our anniversary, so I buy you a card instead of putting in any effort.
An example of chemistry would be Gemini & Fourth in My School President - there wasn't a moment where I didn't believe the characters were into each other - the way they interacted, leaned into each other when there were just sitting and talking, the way they'd find ways to touch - their dialogue, the situations they were in, and the way they interacted was natural and authentic, and fit into the plot.
They didn't just wear absurd expensive high-fashion clothing to operate on pets (I mean seriously - who would dress like that to work in a vet office all day?), stare at each other with insincere smiles under a soft-focus lens for the whole scene, or behave like people in a bad fairy tale rather than like real people in love.
Also throwing up on someone then kissing is about the best way I can think of to kill chemisty. I needed to watch him brush his teeth first and they both needed to change their clothes.

So this series was awful. Poor Cooper.
Cooper & Pond would be interesting, but they both have that bad-boy energy. It could work for enemies to lovers.
