In theory I should hate this. I still resent the 9 hours of Enchante I sat through, the story is full of cliches, and it's an extreme seme-uke story.
But I would murder a hobo for 5 minutes with Force, and even Book's acting is pretty good in this - at least he's playing a consistent and well-drawn character.
Force is just ridiculous. Everything about him works for me - just his voice is enough. Anyway, I'm really enjoying this. While it's not original and a bit cliched, it's well-constructed, with no exposition, it shows instead of tells, there are things we don't know that are gradually unveiled, and it feels like it was written by someone who knows how to write, which is a rarity for Thai BL.
What really works is that they are drawing together due to external cliches thrown at us like Cher tripping and Gun catching him. They have the dabbing a minor wound cliche, twice even, but it's not the reason for them drawing together - Gun was there to dab Cher's wound because he was the person Cher felt safe showing vulnerability to, not because he was the nearest seme after Cher got hit in the head with a basketball.
Just because you like something doesn't mean everyone else has to, and this is a discussion forum, where people…
My response was because I couldn't see anything negative - this series seems to be getting an overwhelmingly positive response - but I'm told there's a lot of snowregrets going on, so now I understand you.
Whoh - that's a little strong. As you know, even having a healthy live baby can cause a severe depression that's…
I would recommend Japan. To be fair to Korea, they don't have the same level of exposure to non-natives as many other indistrialized societies, and much of that exposure has been historically negative. Also, Korea has faced 70 years of proximity to an existential threat that has required a degree of militarization that most other countries don't have to face. All of Seoul is in artillery range of North Korea...
You'll face sexism and racism anywhere, but in my experience Japan is easier.
I lived in NYC from 2001-2009, mostly in Brookyln (Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and Fort Greene). Now I'm in St. Paul, so I keep ending up in less favorable climates than my native California. It's freezing here and it's late March. Enough already.
What’s with the disgusting comments, I get that you people are not liking this but still continue to come back…
Just because you like something doesn't mean everyone else has to, and this is a discussion forum, where people are intended to express their opinions about things. I want to read both positive and negative impressions so that I can make decisions about how to spend my limited leisure time.
I don't even know what negative comments you're talking about - I scanned down and couldn't find a single one - in fact, the most "negative" one I could find was my own, where I said this is a 9 out of 10 and is prevented from being a 10 by overreliance on cliches, which is a very mild criticism.
If you're seeing personal attacks, then I would agree with that (e.g. someone mentioned that there were people complaining actors took these roles to advance their careers, which is a bizarre argument, as if actors aren't entitled to care about their careers) - but most personal attacks are against other posters, by people that don't seem to understand that attacking an actual human being is several thousands of times worse than criticising aspects of a work of fiction.
If you're specifically referring to snow regrets, then just block him - his only desire is to demand attention like a psychopathic toddler, and as he never has anything interesting to say, there's no point having anything he writes appear on your screen.
this drama is really good. I mean it's not a masterpiece but given everything it has not disappointed me so far…
I don't understand comments like that - who doesn't do things to advance their careers? Does everyone expect their BL actors to only take on roles for charitable purposes? The overwhelming mass of the BL audience is female, and so should be regretably familiar with the concept of objectification and exploitation - but how many people are watching pirated copies of BLs while complaining that actors want to get paid? It's remarkable.
I can tell you I'm not sitting in a cubicle procrastinating from carrying out petty bureaucratic tasks for the personal pleasure of my boss. I do want to please him, but only for self-interest.

I had a female employee who was Korean-American, and she refused to speak Korean at work - I asked her why, as I thought it would be an advantage, but she said if she spoke Korean, they would treat her like a Korean woman, which is the last thing she wanted. It's hard to describe - I really like individual Koreans, but I'm not a big fan of the culture (except the food). Another female employee was subjected to harassment and it took a Game of Thrones-complexity scheme to get rid of him. We needed to hire a receptionist and the senior execs wanted photos, and were quite upset that I refused. It's so disgusting. They really don't understand what's wrong with discrimination - why on earth would you hire an unattractive receptionist or any black people or Filipinos when there Asians and white people everywhere?
Whoh - that's a little strong. As you know, even having a healthy live baby can cause a severe depression that's…
Yes - once at a meeting someone started screaming at me and as we were in California, I thought he had gone insane and was wondering how to discretely call an ambulence to take him away, but it was apparently totally normal. Later, he asked to meet with me, I presumed for him to apologize, as were had equal positions although he had more seniority and was Korean - but it was to explain to me what changes I needed to make to my personality so that he wouldn't have to scream at me again.
I don’t understand why Cooper gets cast. He’s pretty terrible. Mark is slightly better but that may be because…
Cooper is bad, but he's naturally sexy to me - I love the way he walks. I'm a bit biased againt Mark for My Gear Your Gown, which was just abyssmal, but he's much better in this. That's not exactly a high bar - kind of like COVID is better than polio, but I like that they're making an effort.
Hmmm. Let’s not decide to judge the mother that harsh. Postpartum depression is a bitch. The grief of losing…
If we answer on phones we will often not see the rest of the thread - once I got home and read it here I saw the greater context and understand your viewpoint better.

Yes, I know. I worked at Samsung an I wanted to suicide everyone there. The pressure for conformity is so horrifying I can't even imagine what it's like for someone with mental issues - they must feel a total lack of hope.
My staff was mostly American and at lunch time we'd notice people standing around on the lawn staring at the ground - we thought there must be some fascinating fungus or bug or something, but we usually got lost in conversation and didn't notice when they left. So one day we decided we were going to watch them until they left to see what the deal was. They were waiting for their boss, because they wouldn't enter the cafeteria before him. So an entire department were standing around in their blue Samsung jackets in the hot sun, quietly waiting for their boss, wasting hours of productivity, just for that - a total lack of agency and a desire to disappear into a sea of conformity.
There's a lot I like about Korean culture - mostly the food and what the men look like - but it's one of the last places on earth I'd want to live as I wouldn't fit in with the whole gay thing. As it was I eventually had to leave my job and that was in the US.
This is terrible. everything about it is half-assed except the actors, who are obviously putting in a lot of effort, which makes it watchable. But the writing is atrocious - it's so bad that it feels like it was written by a 12-year old. And I mean a 12-year old that's really bad at writing, because most of them could do better than this. Heck, most 9-year olds could do better than this.
How many times is Kiew going to fall onto Bamee? It's absolutely the only thing driving their relationship forward - there is nothing else to grab onto because everything that propels them forward together is totally accidental. Why are 99% of Thai writers unable to conceive of people being attracted to each other for any quality other than bumping into them? It's so stupid, cliched, and uninteresting in any way. It's OK for events to throw them together, but not literally!
What a waste of two attractive actors! Not that I'm going to stop watching it or anything - I'm onboard for attractive actors - but with better writing and a more able production crew this could have been really good.
I'd rate this a 9, or maybe an 8.5. What drags it down is the cliches. One of these days I'm going to do a count to determine the actual survival rate of BL mothers - it must be well below 50%. At least it's an important element of the plot and not just contrived drama thrown in because the author has no imagination. But where the author has no imagination is on display with the ole' lock em' in a shed cliche. Are you trying to tell me two strong athetic boys can't get through that flmsy door? Or a window? Who builds sheds with windows that can't open from the inside? And even if they did, glass is notorious for being breakable.
And the water splashing - that was some amazing water fountain - if they installed that in Sudan it would solve all their problems.
Still, though, at least they aren't basketball players, and this is a deeper character study than we normally get from a BL, so I still give it good marks. It's a pity that it isn't a 10 though, because it could have been.
I didn't merely dislike the Aunt, I also disliked the mother. Consider how her adopted son was worried that she…
Whoh - that's a little strong. As you know, even having a healthy live baby can cause a severe depression that's totally out of the mother's control and comes seemingly out of the blue. Imagine dealing with dual PTSD - from the accident and losing a baby as well as the phyiologocal depression due to the loss of the pregnancy. You should direct anger at the sister and husband for leaving her alone and somehow not noticing she was in desperate need of help.
Alright, went down the rabbit hole and the fact that Jeahan is the oldest and the leader, while Yechan is the…
Everything in this paragraph is good English and I'm a native speaker, and I understand absolutely nothing in it. The best I can make out is that you want to join the army of an evil messiah but I'm fairly sure I have that all wrong.
There are three things I've learned here:1. Read your reviews when I'm having bad days.2. More specifically, read…
You are too kind. I DO remember many of the highlights of this series, so there's at least that. Someday I'd like to see a poll for Worst BL Ever - it would be between this, Oh! My Sunshine Night, and Physical Therapy, I think.
I started laughing out loud from the plot twist I won't see coming part 😂 (that's so accurate btw!)And leaving…
Haha - I remember the stupid accidental kiss, and I remember the gist of the debate with the female teacher which I thought was well-written, but that's about it.
