I smiled from ear to ear whenever Jun Hyung and Do Hyun flirted with their eyes or tried to find a middle ground…
I think its one of the better Korean series in a while - I'm really enjoying it. I love the way the characters interact - I loved their hostile phase - the look on their faces when KH made JY leave the restaurant was priceless - and I love how KH has slowly softened to JY - in the end they both have a profound love of good food in common, That can be enough. I have friends who have stayed married for 25 years even though they don't like each other, but they both love food and drink and it works for them.
I’ve always had a little thing for Mike. Funny and handsome. Great combo.
I like it when he's a bit stern like this. And he's got to be the most comically talented of all the BL actors. He's got subtlety, which can be rare in Thai comedy.
There's a point that someone can be so good-looking that it doesn't really matter what the story is about. This is one of those situations. I thought Force was sort of cute in Enchante, but OMG. How is it even possible?
And even beyond that I like the series - it's cute without being cloying, and the acting is good. Mike gets hotter every series, too.
force is so damn attractive most of the i cant focus whats going on bcs of his looks tbh
Same. He's so beautiful it leaves me on the verge of tears all episode. It actually hurts when he smiles. He was OK if Enchante, but his acting in this is really good - and what a difference a year can make for someone's looks at that age.
Victorian virgin! LOL. Maybe they’ll really push the envelope and they’ll be vers. Wouldn’t that be mind…
It would. I suspect there would be a debate and a coin toss to see who goes first. Someday a BL will protray bottoming as perfectly OK and enjoyable instead of a distateful sacrifice the consumptive virgin has to make in exchange for a strong man to guide and protect him.
Both lead characters are introverts. (I like that too.)Unlike Ki Tae, Wan has a lot of anxiety and seems to lack…
There's a bit of a thin line between a test and bullying. You could see that the CEO was uncomfortable with what was happening. What exactly was he testing for? He must have known Wan would be shocked that he was there - if he's an introvert he should know Wan needs time to process what happened. In fact, his behavior almost seemed designed to induce him to run away - that didn't make emotional sense to me. And isn't it unprofessional to insert personal business into an interview like that? It's not necessarily a deal-killer as far as my apprecation of the series, but it did take me out of the story and confused me as to what was going on.
i disagree with everything you said but oh well good for u ! no one asked to watch so just don't
Nobody asked you for a childish post like this, so good for you! But if you can't stand opinions that are different from yours, a discussion forum is probably not the best place for you.
I'm not seeing anyone on MDL calling that rape. They aint even done anything. He just passed out on the table.…
My department (facilities & real estate) was responsible both for getting Koreans home safe after "business dinners" and for cleanup (read: tons of quality soju in my cabinet - plus they usually had sushi with plenty of leftovers).
I think as a general statement, when you're in college or similarly young, the object is to get as drunk as quickly as possible as cheaply as possible, whereas as you get older you drift toward quality and the experience. I think younger viewers are likely to tend toward a more negative view of drinking based on experience in high school and college, and I'm pretty sure I felt that way too. After uncounted shots of Cuervo, the later discovery that tequila is a miracle erased the queasy feeling I got just thinking about it.
Plus, when you get older, the digestive benefits of alcohol and other fermented consumables is a bit of a miracle as well - and that too may be less appreciated in our youth.
Anyway, Ji Yu did drink too much and for the wrong reasons in Ep 1, but since then he's just been a foodie. That a character requires an arc shouldn't be viewed as a negative - I think a series about a bunch of happy well-adjusted people with no problems might be a bit dull, regardless of how ripped their abs are.

Not on this show - I mean in general (regarding alcohol & rape). But it seems inevitable that when these two finally go at it alcohol will be involved and I can already hear the condemnation.
I haven't lived in Korea, but I worked at Samsung and only in Ep 1 did Ji Yu drink more than typical. They discussed the reason why, he was depressed over being dumped.
He's a foodie, and good food goes with alcohol. There have been 4 episodes, and in none of the other three has drinking had the central focus it had in ep 1. It's always, without exception, in conjunction with eating - it's never about drinking to drink. Ki Hoon eventually decided to drink because he needed to taste the soju to know how to pair it to the menu.
It seems to me that the series is painting the opposite picture - that Ki Hoon is the one that has an alcohol problem.
Are schools pulling a reefer madness routine on alcohol lately or something? When I'm here I feel like I'm in a different world. Someone has a beer and then has sex and everyone cries the "r" word, and there are so many comments about Ji Yu's drinking. He's not an alcoholic, he's an adult. And a Korean adult, so I'd say his volume of drinking is below average.
Anyway, I really enjoy this series - it has quirkly but well-drawn and flawed characters who show developmnent despite the short run time, the dialog is clever and funny, the acting is good, and the production is quality. All the comments below sound like people who really like the show but feel like they shouldn't for some reason and are hesitant to say so.
"This is problemmatic and not very good except for the acting, writing, pacing, dialog, and characters."
another atrocious concept and script from a kbl.. I only gave this one a try for Roshin cause the trailer was…
That's funny - I guess tastes are different. I can't get through an episode of a JBL (except My Beautiful Man) and I love this one. I think Japan has lost its mojo in a huge way.
Didn't have high hopes because of the title and I may be the odd one out but I'm really enjoying this series so…
I'm with you on all that.
I don't understand why all these dramas feel compelled to come up with bad English titles. The original Korean title is "No alcoholic beverages", which is much better.
I liked it but didn't love it. I get bored by past connection series and otherwise this felt like a low-energy version of Semantic Error. It didn't make sense that Ti Kae bullied Lee Wan at the interview - that rang false and made it a bit hard to get into this. Why would he do that? He's fortunate he didn't chase him off for another 7 years.
But the acting was good and I liked that we finally get a "normal" introvert.
In theory I should dislike this, but I'm really looking forward to it. I don't like they way the stern boss is always so ridiculous and OTT, but in this case he seems like a normal person. Plus, the size difference is cute but they didn't make the uke useless and frail, so thumbs up.
I just realized what that title is supposed to be - sorry, but that's a big fail. That spelling makes the second word pronounced like "singer" but with an e. They were trying to make a play on words with it sounding like 'passenger'. I don't know why they can't just use the original titles.
And even beyond that I like the series - it's cute without being cloying, and the acting is good. Mike gets hotter every series, too.
They probably should have titled it "A Boss and a Brat".
