It's just OK. I don't feel a lot of chemistry, although Ji Woong scrapes some together, although it has more of an older male relative vibe than a lover even though the actors are only a year apart in age.
The production quality is good, but the series is let down by its coventionality and how heavily it leans on cliches and tropes. Like the memory-erasing drinking (sigh.), uke cutting himself on anything remotely sharp, and this episode on the wide eyes in the surprise kiss. That works in Manga but is so artificial and ridiculous in live-action that it totally takes me out of the story.
The long scene of Jae Yoon talking to himself about Ho Joon was a low point - that should have been portrayed by memories and acting as this is a visual medium.
What does this series have to say? It's basically the same thing we've seen a thousand times. The negative comparison to the much more charming Rak Dao that this copies doesn't help.
Anyway, I like it a little better after the latest ep. I like the portrayal of a psyhopath - almost all of them are banal like Seug Seok, manipulative and selfish, and the only way to deal with them is to steer clear of them. His cowardice was a nice touch.
this forum is dominated by thai BL fans.. they would rate all non thai shows very low all the time but will give…
I don't know - maybe, but I don't think so. Vice Versa is inexplicable to me, and I think maybe a weird outlier - I don't see how it's possible that got an 8.3, which is equal to I Told Sunset About You, which is like comparing Unforgotten Night to The Godfather, but the fact that ITSAY is rated low supports my theory that MDL punishes shorter dramas. It doesn't matter how sublime something is - if it has less than twelve 45-minute episodes, it gets rated down.
I just don't think this series is very good. The chemistry is not there, it's full of tropes and cliches, and the story isn't very appealing. It's not a disaster, but 7.7 isn't really that low. Check Out has a 5.7 and Unforgotten Night is a 6.8.
Those were really good love scenes - very natural, with the awkwardness mixed with aggression. I thought that was age-appropriate and guy-appropriate, although I'm really, really, really sick of ukes who hate sex. I don't know about everyone else, but I wouldn't be able to take my hands off Pluem, especially when he's wearing a muscle shirt. Or no shirt.
I like the music in this - the main theme is very retro, and the incidental music is very Sixth Sense. The story is a tad on the slow side, but it doesn't bother me too much, although if I'm watching it at night it can be a bit challenging to stay awake.
I wish I had a good guess for this one, too. 🤷🏽 There are a lot of twists and turns in these last two episodes.…
Well it was clearly Pluem's father who crashed into the family (or the other way around). It would be odd if Kevin's friend from the US is around - didn't he die across the world? What ghost is in Kevin's room? I don't remember there being one, but I watch this at night and get a bit sleepy because i's slow (not in a bad way, but when I'm tired...)
This is like Meow Ears Up if Meow Ears Up were good. The writing on this is really good and funny, and I love how the cat & dog act like a cat and a dog.
I'm sorry they aren't a thruple, but I would pick Choco for Jung Woo, so I'm not too heartbroken. I love the massive size difference, and there ain't no chance I'd push Choco off me if he climbed into bed, that's for sure.
I like Milk's cat-like standoffishness with his future love interest.
Anyway, I want to not watch this until it's over and then binge it, but there's no chance I have the self control to do that.
Also, 7.7? Really? The only thing airing right now that I'd put in the same class as this is My Tooth Your Love, which also has a 7.7 because apparently people are insane.
I'm not sure which was worse. Check Out seemed worse because I had expectations based on Ep 0, which was excellent,…
Sunshine Night is certainly a strong contender - I wouldn't have said so before the helicopter crash, but absolutely nothing happened from that point until the end.
My theory was that the kid's mother took him back because he was now old enough to operate a vacuum cleaner. Probably not very well, but it's better than having to do the vacuuming herself.
This was actually good...There are many other series which I am not even able to complete and left them hanging…
I checked, and you're the only person who liked it. Which is fine - I'm quite happy that you did. But I don't think it's very efficient to make an entire series to please just one person. They would have to make millions of crappy series to make everyone happy if they continue like that, when they could just make one good one that everyone likes. Then they'd have money left over to make millions of good ones that everyone likes and the world would be a better place.
When I thought Physical Therapy was the worst, they gave us Check Out
I'm not sure which was worse. Check Out seemed worse because I had expectations based on Ep 0, which was excellent, so there was a much greater expecation-to-delivery gap. Physical Therapy might be more objectively bad, but there's such a strong "WTF Effect" that it somehow entertained me. The random having a kid thing really did it for me.
