That was the most fucking awful piece of shit I've seen all year. What a colossal fucking disaster. Who the fuck writes this bullshit? Fuck.
I want to track down whoever wrote this and sent them a hate letter, and suggest they take up a career as a latrine cleaner which is a much more suitable job for someone who can only shovel shit.
This is the second time this director has taken a perfectly good story and totally destroyed it with a ridiculous cliche like this. Be Loved In House was totally consumed by the ex that dropped out of the sky, and this with a stupid totally unmotivated breakup.
I had given this an 8.5, but I'm demoting it to a 2.
This would have been wonderful if Meng Meng had died horribly in the first 5 minutes. With her polluting the whole thing with her ridiculous fetishizing, it's only pretty good. Who comes up with characters that supernaturally irritating? I mean, she's not just an obnixous child, she's a vicious, selfish little creature. You don't mess with people's lives like that. She could have destroyed their relationship and shattered a family. She should be killed. It may not be coming across, but I don't really care much for her.
I love Edison Song - he's so awkward and cute. Other than the abovementioned issue, this was a really cute and pleasant story.
I thought the ending was fine, but I don't get everyone's gushing. Maybe I felt like that because the rest of the episode was so dull that I didn't even care anymore. I think I was never really convinced by their relationship, so it didn't have the resonance that it could have. And on the beach (not at the very end), when that power ballad started up I cracked up laughing. It sounded like a 1980s coffee commercial. "IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE ARE MADE FOR TASTER'S CHOICE".
I would have either given more attention to Kheeta & Natee or just left it out entirely - I was more into that couple than the main one, but in the end it was just... meh. Kheeta's turnaround wasn't set up at all - he just never said anything whenever Natee was raving, and then suddently, there he is.
All-in-all, it wasn't terrible, but it was solidly mediocre.
Like I mentioned above, I'm more concerned he's dealing with homophobia in the industry. I live in CA, and in one of the most liberal areas of the state, but I still have to deal with it - I can't even imagine what it's like in a conservative country in an industry controlled by straight men that often explicity says "no gays need apply."
He certainly has a youthful look, but there's a point where it fades and no amount of makeup and soft-focus filter can hide it. At that point, he can't offer youth or any demonstrated diversity in acting ability (which I'm sure he has) and will have to either self-produce or find something else to do. No studio is going to hire a 30-year old who is probably quite savvy in the field (and thus more expensive) over some 18-year old they can pay almost nothing and exploit, hoping for the next best thing.
Entertainment is a brutal industry for actors, and it's even worse for aging ones.
We already know he's had to deal with a lot of homophobia. Being sidelined into stereotypical roles is a red flag for discrimination, and his social media shows his interests are all adult - for example fashion. He likes to look good (and does), which nobody can in a high school uniform with Korean schoolboy bangs from 2015.
Someone especially creative and artistic like him doesn't thrive on doing the same thing over and over - that goes against what an artist is.
I've never even heard of an actor that enjoys being typecasts in a narrow role. I think it's just the result of the conservative lack of imagination of Thai production companies. I love Santa, but this looks really dull. High school kds, check, piggy-back ride, check...
Well in this drama the ex-girlfriend trope works. Tin is an adult who has been working as a doctor in residency…
That's not what I'm saying, though. I'm saying there's no reason why either Mai or the ex need to be female instead of male.
So far the ex hasn't done anything particularly villainous, but she is a major plot obstacle - her presence already upset Tol and made him leave and refuse to return, and she was so insistent on talking to Tin tht he felt he had to, when he really didn't have time because he needs to save Tol. If a doctor says "I don't have time right now" then you accept that and move on, you don't bully him into abandoning his shift.
Aren't you settinh the bar for acceptable behavior low? So these are not 'villain' behavior: 1) a) targting someone to be your bf because you want his money AND b) staying with your other boyfriend and being a cheater. If she had broken up with her old bf before getting with Tol, it might be forgivable, but she didn't - she's selfish and horrible.
2) Re: the friend at school - Revenge posting (for something that SHE did wrong, not Tol - i.e. she does't take responsibility for her actions (evil), and Tol had already told her he didn't want anything to do with their cheating. And her actions have already had deadly effect. And remember, she's angry because she thought Tol should have let them frame Tol's friend and let him fail out of school. Whether or not she shares blame with someone else is irrelevant. If you pair up with a friend to murder someone, you're not half as bad as a murderer, you're both fully murderers. In her case she was the instigator, and she's the one who took and used the photo. The other guy is not culpable at all other than not attempting to talk her out of it.
But anyway, the problem with the ex being female is that it's just not credible that Tin has decided to get Tol to fall in love with him as a plan. Why would that ever occur to him? If you have a friend in an abusive relationship, would your first thought be "I'm going to turn her into a lesbian to get her away from him!" If Mai and the ex were men, then it would make sense - if he and Tol are gay (or at least bi), then the motivation is there - Tin is attracted to Tol, and feels the attraction back, so he goes with it.
We're used to BL pretending that sexuality isn't a thing (which it is), but it's leading to repetitive use of tropes that are both homophobic and sexist, and they serve no purpose.
Yes. But it is nice that the entire series rating is climbing - that's unusual. and maybe it means people are starting to see how good this is.
I think maybe because Tol has been a little hostile (I really don't understand why people are so put off by his caution when he's being followed around by a weirdo stalker), and Tae is old (by BL standards), it's been underrated.
But anyone that didn't think Tae was hot AF in the nightmare scene when he was conforting Tol must be deceased, and Tol is so huggable when he's vulnerable - and I think seeing this side of them is reflcted in the rising score.
Plus I like how unafraid of getting physical they are - Tae was really wrapped around Tee - none of that hugging with a meter of void space between their nether regions and only touching their upper chests togther-type hug.
Just watched the first 8 eps in one day and now I need a serious stress reliever. Ep 8 made me so frustrated ughh…
I would literally die if I tried to watch 8 episodes in a binge. It takes me 3 hours to watch one ep a week - way too stressful. You must have a healthy constitution.
"Why do all the characters have to be straight(ish)? "[Disclamer : No attack meant towards any fan, actor or character.]This,…
The backlash actors face if they say anything that can remotely be construed as homophobic (usually it's not), or if it gets out that they have a girlfriend, which is even worse, tells me that nobody really cares if the actors are available to them - they just want to make sure they're not available to any OTHER woman. It's fine if they're into guys. Well, into ONE guy.
That makes the girlfriend thing in BL stories totally unnecessary and regressive. I think the audience would likely much prefer if there were no ex-gfs or wannabe gfs at all.
It's not even necessarily desired that actors be straight-acting anymore. Fluke Natouch isn't exactly flaming or anything, but he's certainly not out chopping lumber all day, and not many people would assume Earth Katsamonnat is straight as an arrow - and nobody cares. I don't think the audience would be too receptive to a flaming seme, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
You're right about 2moons, but that was 5 years ago. I think we can move to the next stage now.

But yes, only into one guy, forever and ever, Amen.
