For me it says "something went wrong" - it happens so often I've learned that even though it says that, nothing went wrong, and you double post if you click 'post' again.
A series for newbie actors to debut in but with a lack of acting skills AGAIN......Meks arrogant attitude comes…
I thought Mek was pretty good - a lot improved from earlier things he's done. He's not trying to find true happiness, he's being punished for drunk driving. Pretty much all dramatic plots have to have something like this - if everyone is perfect and happy from the beginning you get a pretty dull story.
You do not need to at all. The only thing you get is more about why Fah is unhappy - it's only explained here, but shown in Star. Fah's relationship with his brother is really sweet, but that's about all I have to say that's positive about that series.
Also might be a little loss, fah wanted to leave because he thinks prince is mad at him??? But they conversed…
Prince should have apologized, but he couldn't - so he showed his apology by cleaning the clinic. I think Fah was hurt, and didn't think it would work for him to stay if Prince wanted him gone - and he probably assumed Prince would tell the chief he got drunk and was late to work.
Well I'll say it then...Mek from The Player to Mek Star & Sky are 2 physically different people & the superficial…
My sole reason for watching this was the hope that would happen, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this is. I didn't watch The Player - he's usually built like he is in this - was it different styling, or did he gain or lose weight?
Wow. That was.... good. I was not expecting it to be good. After Star In My Mind, I was only watching in the hopes there would be exactly the sort of shirt-off scene that we got, but it had a lot more besides.
First of all - correct me if I'm wrong, but Prince appears to be taller than Fah, which might be the first time in the history of BL that the uke is the tall one. Or maybe they're dumping the whole seme-uke thing - Prince seem like a stronger character than usual for an uke.
Also, I liked that both of them started out with a physical attraction - for Fah love at first sight, for Prince, love at first abs. Because, well, you saw them yourself, so you know.
Anyway, it was actually cute and funny (it helps to have Mike), Prince is way more interesting (and appealing) than he was in the preview, the story setup is solid, and they aren't leaning too hard on tropes (so far). This is a way better pairing - so much more chemistry and more interesting.
im starting to think that i wouldnt really mind it if the volunteer service-village trope thing becomes the new…
They said it's Chiang Mai, but it could be filmed in Chiang Rai, or vice versa with 1,000 Stars. Chiang Mai is surrounded by nature reserves and has more production facilities, so if I were to guess, I'd say there.
i think the village is the same as the 1000 stars?
Probably. Most likely the 1,000 Stars village was chosen for good reasons, like accessibility and nearby locations for other shots. also, the locals would be familiar with what a production is like and probably have usefull skills to help after working on 1,000 Stars.
people are pathetic for criticizing and comparing this to ATOTS! FYI ATOTS is not the first BL series to be in…
The trailer was very deliberately trying to make this look like 1000 Stars, so it's understandable - and it does have a lot of similarities. Comparisons are inevitable, and I don't see what's wrong with that. If people are hating, maybe they haven't watched it yet.
EDIT: Reading down quite a ways, the repsonse to this looks overwhelmingly positive - is this a twitter thing? 8.5 is extremely high - it's early but there are a lot of votes in.
I guess I don't understand how they are trying to develop the character of fah, so far he sounds like a jerk (which…
It's like his friend said - he thought Fah was getting over the breakup, and then he went to his ex's wedding. What has he done that's jerkish except drinking too much? Other than that, he's fairly sweet.
Your conment on how “Natee is 1,000 times hotter than Prakarn” was really mean and uncalled for. People are…
It's not mean or uncalled for in the slightest. I find Prakan almost wholly unappealing, and Natee very appealing. That doesn't mean other people don't have the opposite feeling. And hotness has a lot to do with personality - if you think it's only about physical looks, them maybe you're just shallow.
As for the general consensus, 7.7 is an extremly low score for a BL - something is not working for people - and I think it's how unappealing Prakan is. It's not just the poor acting, it's also the way he's written - he doesn't have enough capacity for moral reasoning to distinguish between escorting a soul to the next world and murdering them, hence the endless loop of getting mad for no reason.
Speaking of moral reasoning, you might consider the difference between criticizing a chraacter in a work of light entertainment and attacking an actual human being - if you're that attached to a fictional character that you get that outraged, you might consider getting help, or finding more meaning in life.
BRAVO. I wrote something like this last week I think when they were going at it hot and heavy in bed and all of…
Yes - I think there's a bit of danger in eliminating degrees. Sure, someone probably shouldn't kiss you while you're sleeping, but you'll live. You might not even need years of therapy.
I'm not sure what the attraction is to all these de-sexed boys - nobody wants them in real life. Even if you won't let them have what they want, you still want them to want it. Otherwise, it's straight to the Friend Zone.

A lot of younger fujoshis are obsessed with the topic of consent and aren't satisfied unless there's a duly witnessed and notarized consent document before a kiss. Otherwise it's rape. So there are squeals of delight when there's a scene like that "can we wait" one because it's so wholesome and non-toxic. Withholding sex is toxic, not being a bit sexually aggressive, which is hot. I mean, Gong Li could have at least given him a hand-job.
Anyway, I've stuck with it because it's somewhat limited the tropes, although in a city of millions, the very second they do anything, Ze Shou's father just happens to be right there? But none of the "I'm not gay, I only like and am only capable of ever liking one particular guy." In fact it's implied Ze Shou is gay in this last episode - both characters being overtly gay is the BL equivalent of storming the Bastille. Also, while the lack of sex is stupid, the actors have definitely committed to non-sexual physical intimacy - when they hug or cuddle, they're really wrapped around each other and not standing a meter apart with just the tops of their chests touching.
I mean, why wouldn't he? In Japan, it's pretty common for people to act "prim and proper" around other people…
Most of my interaction with Japanese people has been in a business context, or with Japanese-Americans, who are usually a bit more open. But they're so indirect that you have to get used to it. Like "It's possible" = "Absolutely not." or "It's difficult" = "There's no fucking chance in hell I'm doing that and you have nerve even asking, you arrogant little prick." So Fukuhara's ranting and raving is probably refreshing and charming to Shinomiya.
I couldn't get through the first ep, but that might be partly the Kim/Copter PTSD I've developed after 2 seasons of Gen Y and That's My Candy. Also, I've always thought Ohm was a mannequin that can somehow speak, but I know a lot of people love that pairing. Fluke is good if anyone will ever let him do something other than crying.
Anyway, did it get better? Is it worth trying? The middle of the week is getting BL-dry.

That's probably what I would do too.

Also, the leads are both hotttt. And I'm shallow.
