I’m gonna be honest I feel ep11 is my least favorite ep. That whole scene though where Fah says he doesn’t…
Fah wasn't talking behind his back, he was discussing his feelings with a friend after being brutally rejected repeatedly by Thorn - who, don't forget, moved out without telling him and then refused to communicate with him at all. Why isn't he allowed any human feelings but Thorn is?

Thorn basically told him he doesn't want to be with him if he's busy being a basketball player, and it's perfectly reasonable for Fah to question whether or not Thorn is right for him on that basis. Everyone had a career, and they all keep everyone busy - if Fah were an attorney instead it would be the same - but it wasn't about neglect, it was about envy. It was specific to basketball, because the injury prevented Thorn from pursuing his goals and he was jealous that Fah could. I don't think he's a bad person because of that - it's a relatable human feeling, but I don't see what Fah did wrong.

Episode 11 was actually very beautiful. It focuses on FahTorn and their relationship. Their progression and love…
That was a good scene, but for me the most spectacular moment was when they passed on the staircase - that's what I want in live action - a scene where thousands of words of meaning were depicted purely visually with no dialog at all.

So what was Fah supposed to do? Not pratice and give up basketball? He wanted to choose Thorn and the team, but Thorn insisted he pursue his dreams. Fah was that busy for a limited period of time for a few weeks preparing for tryouts. And in any case, Thorn wasn't upset at being neglected, it was jealousy.

How was Fah a shitty lover? He was busy for a limited period of time when he was preparing for tryouts, and he did everything he could to repair the situation. Thorn moved out without even telling him and thn wouldn't speak to him. Thorn wasn't upset at being neglected, he was jealous because Fah could pursue his aspirations and he couldn't. If he hadn't been injured he would have been just as busy as Fah. Fah understood all that and tried to support him, and being rejected several times, all he could do is wait for Thorn, which he did.

Episode 11y'all it's been a hot second but the last few episodes have been quite the ride and i didn't think the…
That's more balanced than most people have been, but I think you're a little hard on the team. These are teenagers and Thorn was a huge, massive backstabbing dick to them, and it's not like they're his childhood friends or owe him so much that they need overlook his horrible behavior and flock to support him. As for Fah, it was Thorn who left Fah, who tried more than once to fix things, and in the end he waited for Thorn, which was all he could really do.

Even Chain was just trying to push things to a head - a bit misguided, but not evil.

In any case, I love that all the characters are complex, flawed, and relatable. Too many people expect moral perfection in their BL characters, which is to me is really boring. If I want to watch cute things being cute to each other I'll get some puppies.
On You're My Sky Mar 26, 2022
Can we talk about what a masterpiece the staircase scene was (Ep 11 @26:00)? That is how to shoot a scene.

This discussion section is nuts, and I can't help but think that 90% of the people here completely misunderstand this story if you think this is matter of taking sides. The best thing about this series is that the characters are flawed and complex like real people, but so many people want to stuff them in boxes, and make someone the bad guy. Not even Tuan is a villain - in a lesser series, he'd have a hairless cat and cackle madly whenever things went his way.

Dome is not a bad person because he's confused. If you have no idea what it's like to live in a heteronormative world when that's not who you are, and the overwhelming pressure that bears on you to conform to an idea of self that you yourself hold deeply, then fucking don't judge. because it's miserable and painful and really, really hard to get through. Dome did nothing wrong except need time to figure out who he was and what he felt. Once he did, he did that right thing and broke up with Pan. What else did you want him to do, be perfect? It's not like Vee is Mr. Moral Perfection in this. He was lusting after his own sister's boyfriend and it was he that started the whole thing.

As for Fah and Thorn, yes, Thorn was clearly the huge asshole in this, but the reasons are human and relatable, and very well-written and executed. As for the team, he stabbed them in the back and treated them like shit - what responsibility do you think they have to him? They forgave him - that's a lot more than they needed to. And as for Fah, Thorn abandoned Fah, not the other way around, but Fah waited for him and was there for him when Thorn was ready to accept him. If there's anyone in Ep 11 who did nothing wrong at all, it's him.

Thorn's issues with Fah being busy were about jealousy, not neglect. Fah was practicing for critical tryouts and Thorn knew that and had pushed him on that path - remember that Fah was going to choose the team and Thorn over his own aspirations.

Anyway, this is the first episode where I was engaged with the main couple and didn't really mind the secondaries not being in it. TBH, I don't really care about Vee and Dome anymore - that time jump killed that storyline, and they'll never get that fire back into their story.

I'm siding with Torn. He has the worst team ever! He recruited them, help them train and grow and the minute he…
I'm confused - Thorn is the one who left, not Fah. Fah was busy getting ready for tryouts, which Thorn knew, but he couldn't wait a couple of weeks because he's selfish. And even then Fah felt he was in the wrong and tried to work through it with Thorn who rejected him more than once. And make no mistake, Thorn behaved this way out of jealousy. He refused to even give Fah a chance, and he didn't even consider what a terrible position he put Fah in, so that no matter what he did, he felt guilty - that's really awful.

I think Thorn's feelings are relatable and I like that this series isn't afraid to make a main character into a dick, because we all go through darker times and I like the realism, but Thorn was self-absorbed, abandoned his boyfriend and stabbed his coach and team in the back by going to Tuan, and he treated them all like shit. So Thorn is absolutely the person who owes an apology - he's lucky he was forgiven. And note that Fah never asked for an apology - he was just there for Thorn when Thorn would let him be.

Why does anyone need to take sides? Why does everything have to be zero-sum?

Parts of the episode take place five months in the future - actually that's pretty useful to help distinguish the difference since the acting doesn't.

at one point it had reached 8.0, but it dropped
I agree - the time jump drained all the life out of this. Vee and Dome were the most electric couple I've ever seen in a BL, and after that they were a balloon that you forget about that deflates until it just sadly rolls around on the ground, too limp to even pop.

Why did they cast someone so dreary for Mon? There are so many great ingredients in this series, but Captain Coma makes this difficult to remain awake through. It's only 8 pm where I am and they needed a defibrilator to revive me. So is better, but his character is the "stare blankly and never respond when anyone is talking to him" type.

Whenever Saint appears, it's like I was in an unvented elevator car on a super-hot & humid day, and the doors open to an air-conditioned lobby.

I still keep hoping So and Saint will send kick Mon to the curb and get together, but that's never going to happen, so I'm going to have to learn to live with Debbie Downer.

I'm trying so hard to wait for subs lol
It feels a little like they stopped subtitling. Usually it's a week or so, but Ep 10 is about to come out and Ep8 isn't subbed yet. Maybe they'll drop a bunch of eps at once.

As completely stupid as this is, it's refreshing that the characters actually behave as if they're sexually attracted to each other. It's not graphic or anything, it's just a level of comfort and passion that's put into the way they interact, touch, and kiss. Also, Toh gets hard-ons around Nuea, which is pretty funny.

This episode underscored what a terrible character Theo is. Are we supposed to have the slightest sympathy for his pissy behavior about being lied to, which was done in an attempt to make him happy, when he just spent the entire series lying about Enchante in a childish bid for attention? Akk should beat him to death and go for a real man like Saifa. Sun is quite a dish too - another good option.

I think Cutie Pie is a formulaic, repetitive, poorly written mess. You're My Sky is so far superior in every way…
Both couples have a grim domineering emotionally abusive seme, and the back and forth is the same over and over. The plot is silly and shallow and the characters are stereotypes. It was probably a mistake to squeeze two books into one series - it needed a more contrasting secondary couple.

By contrast, You're My Sky has better-drawn characters and portrays much more realistic relationships, and while Cutie Pie is well-produced, it's a slick product of a BL machine, whereas the direction, set design, and cinematography of YMS is masterful.

I don't actually think there's anything wrong with Cutie Pie - it's just predictable and forgettable. Everyone was gaga over Bad Buddy, but I doubt anyone will really remember it well a year from now, and same with Cutie Pie.

Can i start petition Vee deserve better than Dome?
He did break up with Pan - she came into the room seconds after he said that - he couldnt just dump her in public in a locker room - that would humiliate her.

I didn't like that they did a time jump and didn't show the scene, but he definitely did it.

This really made me LOL - it doesn't help that the soft-focus filter is laid on so heavy that I thought I had devloped cataracts - if the actors have any facial expressions I'm not sure we'd be able to tell.

I think it's a failed model to have totally inexperinced actors in main roles. It doesn't help that the side characters are usually experienced - it just underlines the problem. Bad Buddy was actually fairly poorly written after the first few episodes - in fact I'd argue the second half was worse than this series - but acting ability made it work (sort of). Or think about ITSAY - although all aspects of the production were first-rate, the story itself was very conventional. But the acting was amazing. Here we have a dull story with dull directing and dull performances (which is as much the directing as it is lack of actor experience). It's too bad and not really fair to the actors.

I can't get the sketch scene from Not Me out of my head - to be that physically perfect but display that much crushing vulnerability is really something - that was one of the best moments of all time in BL. He definitely needs to be ML in a series.
