That was really good - I think it's more what it's advertised as (an LGBTQ+ film) than a BL - it's way too realistic to be a BL. The way boys interact and speak was very natural, and can so totally identify with the main character - life sucks for gay boys at that age.
I hope they make Mon shave that unfortunate attempt at a mustache before Country Boy 2...
And I thought this was going to be some simple "Boy meets Ghost" story - who knew we were going to be in for this…
I wasn't expecting anything from the acting, either with Nut in it after Oxygen, but this is one of the best-acted BLs. Green is the standout for me, but everyone in this is good.
And I'm not sure I can remember a plot that's this well-written and sophisticated.
Interesting episode, it was good learning about Phob's past. Guess Ben and him weren't that serious after all.…
The full ep makes it look like Ben and Phob were pretty close. Phat's jealousy in this is the best I've ever seen in a BL - it's at a reasonable level provoked by something real. He's not wildly overacting like usual in most series and not letting it control him.
I agree, there's somthing about Luck - there's no purpose for his character unless he has something to do with Phob's death, although I think Big is hot and a good actor, so I'm always happy to see him.
OMG, Green is amazing in this - that's Bruce-level acting. I can't believe Nut is the guy from Oxygen, and Plan is really good too - this is a great episode. Evil landlady was good in this too - and Big has a couple of good scenes, although they're mostly cut (and not important to the plot).
However, a gigantic amount of it was cut - the full episode is 1:16:45 - that's almost as long as a full film. Some of it isn't important, but some of it makes the ep flow much better, and there are some criminal deletions of Ben scenes, including both his dances in the play. Whenever you get access to the full version, I strongly recommend rewatching this ep and probably Ep 5. The previous 4 eps don't really have anything much in them that's needed.
I've added the missing scene descriptions - there are TEN.
Sandee was and always has been a master manipulator. Why on earth does he make it his job to insert himself in…
But if he didn't insert himself and cause trouble, absolutely nothing at all would have happened this season - everyone would just sit around staring at each other.
Oh and the pool scene, like, get a room! Oh wait, they do, only it's two separate rooms cause staying in one room…
They could at least have gotten rooms with bathrooms in them - who wants their tub right by the bed? No wonder Wayu can't sleep with the light off. I thought he was being clever with that old trick, but judging by the scenes from next week he really is just scared of lights and not making the moves on Thanu.
BL really likes Christian funerals. I guess they're more sad than Buddhist ceremonies and easier to film. But why did they just dump the coffin on the grass? I don't think Pha's mother loved him. First, she didn't bother to make sure he was dead, then she didn't attend his funeral, and didn't even cough up the funds to dig a hole for the coffin. Animals will figure out how to get in there, you know.
Was Thanu trying to hypnotize Wayu with the necklace? He held it in front of his face for 20 minutes. "You will have sex with me. You will have sex with me." It almost worked, but it looks from the scenes from next episode like Wayu reverts to being a Victorian 12-year old. Who goes on a romantic getaway and gets separate rooms? And I thought they were rich - couldn't they afford rooms with bathrooms?
They spent more time on Mark buttoning his cuffs than all the things in this I care about combined. Although to be fair, since all that's left on that list is Sandee, that's not saying much.
Also, I really do appreciate subtitles. but I wasn't watching this on my phone so it felt like a public service announcement was screaming at me the whole episode. SMOKING KILLS. But can you die of boredom?
Also, that was a creepy kiss. Does Thanu move that slowly because he's afraid Wayu will have a heart attack if anyone makes any sudden moves around him? He does seem scared of everything. The dark, lights that flicker, sexual contact of any kind...
So just from seeing the spoilers…..you’re telling me that Kits BEST FRIEND just DIED and he and Mark are STILL…
Not only that, but he died twice. Although his mother may have just been mistaken, although you'd hope your own mother would check to make sure.
Also, couldn't Mark have at least consoled Wayu? Or Pha's mother? Oh wait, she didn't attend. She probaby announced he was already buried and let everyone else deal with it.
It just hit me there are two episodes left and Mark/Kit have been in the room together like 4 times....What a…
It almost makes me think that the actors are sick of each other and can't stand to be in the same room. But I'm sure it's just terrible writing. If there actually IS any writing. I wonder if they just told the actors to wander around doing whatever and this is what resulted.
I hope they make Mon shave that unfortunate attempt at a mustache before Country Boy 2...

The lengths of the eps so far have been:
1 - 1:05:06
2 - 1:04:14
3 - 1:11:01
4 - 1:03:03
5 - 53:44
6 - 1:16:45
