OK, I went back & finished it, and it does get more bearable, but the main guy is too creepy. Also, giving a cute guy terrible hair and silly glasses is very 1980s. And he's not a cute guy, or moderately attractive, he's f#@$ing gorgeous.
The humor is a bit broad for my taste, but I will say I like that the women aren't horrible, which is a refreshing change.
I think it's past time we moved on from this obsession to label a person's sexuality. In many ancient Asian cultures,…
The question is, though, is BL representing the female gaze? I would say it's not, since the producers, directors, and cinematographers are overwhelmingly men. There needs to be more female directors.
One of the few I can think of is Hong-Kong-based ADiamond Lee, whose work is a whole lot more adventurous than Thai BL.
I feel like this was trying too hard - not very interesting, and a little cringey. Although I feel like we should support it just because it's from mainland China.
I wouldn't consider Theo a "shit" person mainly because that's how you'd usually treat your best friends. I do…
I didn't mean Theo is a shit person, I mean he doesn't treat Akk well (like shit). He's not even nice to him. I have no problem with the actor, if he's trying to portray Theo as a jerk, he's doing a great job.
Finally got around to watching this and boy is it dumb. It’s always a warning sign when the “lore” of the…
It's the same problem that the Twilight series - why is a centuries-old guy in high school? The only answer is "creepy old guy cruising for underage sex". Or blood , but that's not any better.
I dont mind the acting like some have mentioned…in fact thats the least of my concerns with this series. I just…
The acting is fine except for Theo. If his character is supposed to be unappealing, then I take that back, because mission accomplished. It's hard to get too invested when I think the main character is a jerk and doesn't deserve Akk.
The problem with this series is that Theo is so unappealing - he treats Akk like shit. He doesn't even treat him like a friend, let alone a romantic interest. Akk is 10 times more attractive in every way, and he should end up with Saifah. Or Natee.
Anyway, this is not bad, but I wish they'd cast Force as Theo and maybe Fluke as Akk.
The characters aren't fleshed out - who are they, and what motivates them? It's not as important for Phap because he's a care-free live-in-the-moment artist, but Maze desperately needed a motivation . Nueng provides it at the very end, but if we had known that earlier on, Maze might have been a tad more sympathetic (like a 2 on a scale ot 1-10 rather than a zero).
Nueng & Tharn could have been entirely left out and it would have made no difference. How did they meet? Why do they like each other? Who were they? Nueng has a plot purpose, but unfortunately it makes no sense. I didn't care at all about them except insofar as Yacht is cute and I want him to be happy. They only seem to exist as a formula they had to throw in with an archetypical uke and seme since the main couple don't follow that pattern (which is one of the strong suits of the series).
The biggest mistake was the drama in Ep 9, which broke the series and there was no fixing it at that point. Besides Phap behaving wildly out of character, Maze reversed all his character development up to that point, which just left him an asshole and I could care less if they got together, and it flet unearned when it happened. They compounded the problem by introducing Bruce, who is basically a nice Maze, so I instantly wanted Phap to end up with him, but that's not how things work. Heck, the old Japanese guy would have been better - he really understood and appreciated Phap, even if the age difference is a tad extreme.
I would love to watch the full episodes, but for some reason I can't seem to sign up to ch3 because it says I…
You're really not missing anything - I have access to the full version and I watch the cut version instead - it's better. I just scan the full version afterwards for missing scenes, because uncut Ep 3 was really tedious, but flowed really well in the cut version.
I really liked the first 3 episodes (cut version) It has story, good chemistry and acting is okay. So why this…
The cut version is generally better - Ep 1 was the only one where the full version added anything of use - the other eps have only cut long, boring scenes that just grind the pace to a halt.
All ghost stories do this - it's inevitable. Actually Phob said he can touch things when he concentrates, and…
I don't have a problem with the way they're writing this, but Phob manipulates lots of things without concentrating - he visibly concentrated to pick up a pencil but not at all for much larger objects. It's nearly impossible to film a series without the ghost touching and moving things - it's easier when it's a film or something short, but you'd have to do millions of takes to avoid it.
The writing mistake was to say he has to concentrate. In that case he should have to concentrate to sit down or he'd fall through the chair, or for that matter, to walk - the ground is a thing, so he should sink through it to the center of the earth.
It's a fantasy, and ghosts don't exist - it doesn't need to be realistic.
This is just OK for me. Yoon Seo Bin is totally adorable, but the shortness is just too much - 8 min isn't enough to engage a viewer, especially when the scenes are paced for a much longer work.
Also, they're getting too silly with the vampire stuff. Now it needs to be a true blood at the instant he falls in love with the vampire. Next we'll be told "the instant he falls in love, but kimchee cannot have crossed his lips since the last sundown and he must be wearing orchids in his hair."
It's not a discrepancy so much as it's the fact that the pronunciation of Jill sounds like "Jew" in Thai. So when…
Very interestiing. Is it closer to "j" or "ch"? There is actually a hard & soft J in English too, right? Judge has two hard J sounds whereas Jewel is soft.
There are also hard and soft "ch" - Children (hard), rich (soft).
