'Taking the law into your own hands and hurting people through pre-meditated violence is no better than being…
It feels like YOU are being nuanced but I don't see the show doing it - on the contrary it's blatantly romanticising vigilantism. Your response and those of everyone else above make me wish you were writing the story, but you're not defending it from the material that's been presented in the show. White originally thought he was doing something wrong, but nobody else does, and he seems to be becoming Black and accepting his new role. He won the contest to decide what their next mission would be, and instead of picking something that would minimize violence, he endorsed Sean's plan to do something even more radical than arson, which almost killed several people last time.

Again, it's too early to judge and I don't think it will be clear for quite some time, but the screenwriter/director has in her past projects emphasized dramatic plot twists, not so much complex social commentary. All the above is why I'm 100% certain that Tod is as evil as evil gets. He's rich, therefore he's evil. Likewise, I'm sure we can all guess what Sean's connection to his target is.

MLK died, but if he had taken a violent revolutionary route, he would have died a lot quicker and he would have set back civil rights by decades. Violent solutions almost always lead to results that were just as bad as the problem they were trying to solve or worse - except on TV.

It's not "insultingly simplistic", it just doesn't align with your political stance and that's why it rubs you…
I can only think of one or two BL characters who has self-indentified as bisexual. (like Fiat in My Gear and Your Gown). They almost always identify as straight, which is a long-standing trope with a long history in BL's Yaoi roots. And a guy who's into men and women isn't necessarily bisexual, either - that's another black and white assertion.

And nothing has anything to do with my political stance, which I haven't discussed. Rich=evil is simply simplistic.

And what on earth are you arguing? That bloody coups are OK if they work? I said Ghandi and MLK had it right because they took the morally correct route - it most certaintly wasn't the quickest.

I don't have a problem with the greyness of the characters - I actually prefer that. My problem is the lack of shading so far in the themes the series is purporting to examine.

If you watched episode two you should remember how horrified white was when he found out their plan was to burn…
I agree that there are distinctions between privilege and wealth, and it's complicated, which is exactly my point. This series is not approaching this with any nuance - it's a very shallow social commentary and thus not useful. Much like Manner of Death, anyone with any money or power is evil, period (e,g, I thought the judge in MoD would be a symbol of the good in government, but nope, he had power, so he was evil). Tod appears to be very wealthy, and I can guarantee he'll turn out to be very evil (but very sexy and evil), and I'm willing to bet money he's behind what happened to Black.

White was against the arson, but he still went, and he just approved Sean's plan for a more aggressive attack - which means more aggressive than arson, so we're not talking about graffiti here.

Speaking of which, Grafitti isn't really acceptable - it usually damages personal property, and usually that of people who can't afford to clean it up - even when it's public property, it's tax money that has to be used to clean it, which is a burden on lower-income people. In some US cities spaces are allocted for it, which is in many places accepted as a legitimate art form. In Europe too.

As for romance, it's fast enough, I'm just not sure it will be that important to the story - I hope it is. And it's not the speed that's irritating me, it's once again the tired trope of straight guys falling in love, which is so regressive that nobody should accept it at this point. But my point is that if it's not going to lean on romance and is going to go heavily for social commentary, then that commentary needs to be meaningful, and so far it's not.

It's too early in the series to pass any final judgments on it, so it's a little strange to hear people in this forum praising to high heaven. It may be great, and it may crash and burn. BB is almost over, and it's delievered. I don't know why everyone says they're not comparable - they're very comparable. You can compare just about anything, but it's not a rivalry, and I'm not sure why so many people insist on viewing it that way - it's kind of ridiciulous to make yourself dislike something because you view it as a rival of something you like.

I'm not really feeling the social commentary here. First of all, it's way too on-the-nose. That rap song was so literal that I'm not sure it counts as music or art - it was just a political speech. Also, the binary poor=good and rich=evil is insultingly simplistic. There are plenty of good rich people and evil poor people. Taking the law into your own hands and hurting people through pre-meditated violence is no better than being exploitative and manipulating the system. In fact it's worse, because it always causes the power structure to tighten its grip and become more oppressive and hurt more innocent people. Ghandi & MLK had it right.

Second, I'm kind of over romances between straight guys. I guess that means I'm tired of BL, but there it is.

This is a really high-quality production and I like the two couples - Off in particular is showing more range than I've seen from him before, but if it doesn't start to focus on the BL interaction soon I'll lose interest.

I do like that White is behaving like an intelligent person now and cleverly sidestepping discussions that could cause problems. But if he can't see that Tod is the Big Bad of the series, he's an idiot. Does Tod need to get a hairless cat before White gets it?

He painted Yok holding a torch because they met in the first ep in the house they burned down.

It's OK. The editing is terrible, but it's watchable if you skip a lot and set it on 2x. The actors are really, really hot, which is the saving grace. He's not listed above, but Chin is played by Lepagon Sirabhuvaphong, whose IG is here: https://www.instagram.com/lepagon.r/

BTW, if I were dating someone I gave a goodbye kiss to a ghost that's leaving for the afterlife and he reacted like that, I'd tell the selfish narcissist to go f@#$ himself. Althogh to be fair, he got over it quickly.

They should have paired Allen with LJ - they have way more chemistry. That might be LJ, though, and in all of Allen's scenes with Clark he's pissed off, which is not what he does best.

Also, have you noticed how boys never share anything physical unless it's accidental? That comes from homophobia, wherein it's not OK for men to seek out sex with men. It's a little less gay if they fall on top of each other, not that this has happened to me even once in my... long life. Nor an accidental kiss. Dental bills must be very high for BL characters if they're always mashing their faces together after tripping.

So Much In Love was a glorious disaster - it's one of my favorites. How often do you get a BL with not one, but…
Yes, her son is the nice ghost. When it originally aired the subtitles were so bad it was incomprehensible. With better subtitles it's semi-comprehensible.

Mario's rent for that place is $390 per mo. In California, without exaggeration I can tell you that's just enough for an uncovered parking space. Man, for what my place costs I could get a villa or a giant penthouse in Manila.

Does Arnold get to keep the hair he had at the party, or is he going to snap back to that awful bleached mullet?

They should not have had 3 years pass - that's way too long. No grown adult takes that long to get over someone they barely dated. I could buy one year. It's also too long for Arnold to keep a terrible hair style.

I didn't think anything of the cap in the facetime because it was snowing outside, but when he was still wearing the same cap in the Philippines, either a) he's radically changed his hair for another role (like maybe a solider with a buzz) or b) the other thing, which is unforunately not communicable so he can't take Mario with him.

I don't think the sponsor is going to want their product in a parallel drawn with cancer. But the writing is so bad it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

Although I do have a caveat - if the writer was trying to make us loathe the main character, then he or she is a genius. A super-genius.

Well, one of the two ghost stories is scary, but the other one is a sweet romance. The nice ghost is afraid of the vengeful ghost, but I don't recall them ever being in contact. There are a few really delightful scenes, and the sex scenes are steamy. But the plot is all over the place and a huge mess. It's a "so bad it's good" series.

The main thread is the evil principal (who is the nice ghost's mother) is hell-bent on destroying the school's volleyball team for no apparent reason.

we need vampires, werewolves, historical and fantasy BL's. I am so sick of school themed BLs but the problem is...…
It's not for everyone - but it's a darkly comedic supernatural BL horror. The production quality is OK for what it is, but it has witch-nun hate sex. It's very campy with a perfect ending. You have to be able to take people being horrible to enjoy it, but as it doesn't take itself too seriously it wasn't a problem for me.

There appears to be a cast, but I'm not always the most observant person.
I figured, I was just being a smart-ass. I'd be curious to look up the labor laws in Korea - it might just be too expensive to have lots of extras. In Thailand you can do it for free, but in the US you'd have to pay every one of the extras. But you have to ask why they chose such a large estate for the setting when it's clear one prince and one warrior have no chance of maintaining it on their own. There should have been at least one servant to create an illusion.
On You're My Sky Jan 8, 2022
This is a tough one. Everything about this is fantastic - like first rate - except the story, which is cynically unoriginal (what if we took SOTUS and ITSAY and thew it in a blender?), and the acting is mediocre. It didn't help that the child actors for Tupfah and Thorn were better than the adult actors.

The cinematography, editing, directing, and art design in this are spectacular - seriously ITSAY level, and giving it an odd timeless quality - could you tell what year it was set in? Although part of that was the total absence of phones.

But the plot is so dull and uninteresting that I had to take breaks every few minutes. I have no interest in this - maybe if the actors were more dynamic, or I could feel chemistry. I'll watch next ep for sure, and I'm hoping it will be character focused and not be all about sports.

You can almost feel that the casting call read "no queers need apply" - this feels very 2016 in sensibility to me.

Don't shoot me for saying this, but to me it has an ITSAY vibe that I really like. I already get the sense that…
Hmm. It felt to me like they went to the ITSAY store to buy the cinematography, directing, editing, dialogue, art design, etc. but then ran out of money and bought the story from the Nitiman store. I was stuggling to keep interest and only the visuals held me. I don't get why they devoted that much money and love to a project to tell this story.
