BTW, you accidentally said "exaperation date" instead of "expiration date", but DO NOT change it - that should be a required term in describing a BL - it's amazing how so many pairings have an exasperation date. In Bite Me I got there around Ep 4, Ep 1 for Leo & Fiat, and for these guys, their first scene.

It's not nearly as well-done as BB - but Tae elevates if for me. I think Yoon is supposed to be creepy, so he's doing a good job, right? I try not to say it to avoid being lynched, but Singto is one of the least capable actor in BL. He's better in this role than in Baker Boys where he thought being a gay conqueror meant acting like a small child pretending to be a cat. He has a great body and perfect butt - all he needs to do is wear tight pants and take his shirt off and not talk and it would work perfectly.

You can't really hav a 27-year old actor play a 12-year old - it just makes the character annoying.

The next time a grown man is eating and gets food stuck at the cornr of his mouth that he somehow doesn't notice and then doesn't punch in the face anyone who's not his mother that reaches over and wipes his lip with their hand, I'm going to burn something down.

I think you have to be a virgin cat lady who's never experienced normal day-today life in order to write a BL.That's the only explanation I can think of for the presence of athletic adult men who can't sucessfully walk without tripping, be in the same room as a sharp object withou cutting themselves, or eating without smearing food all over their face.

I think there's a cultural element to perceptions of step-siblings that I'm just missing. Here the general attitude is that sibling aversion is considered to be a thing caused by being raised together (and there's strong evidence that's the case), and both the social and evolutionary pressure against sibling relations is based on maintaining genetic diversity and avoiding birth defects - since neither is a problem with steps (and especially same-sex steps), I guess no social aversion ever really emerged here, but then it was fairly ordinary for cousins to marry until recently.

A large percentage of BL couples are creepy to me beacuse they're forced into an artificial seme-uke model which isn't really 100% consensual in many cases, especially in the older BLs. And ukes are often so useless. helpless, and without agency that it doesn't really feel like they are capable of consent any more than a child is. That;s why the step thing seems minor to me, comparatively.

In any case, I would agree that the relationship between Maze and Neung seems to have plenty of room to be creepy.

I like Tae so much that this series is near the top for me of everything I'm watching. You can't really beat Bad Buddy for couple chemistry, but the plot is so ordinary and formulaic- engineers again. TBH, BB has declined for me while this has grown on me. When I woke up today I had a greater urge to watch Paint WL.

Singto isn't as strong as Tae in acting, but he did a good job in today's episode - I got how lonely and isolated he is, and you could tell he felt bad and went to Phap's to make it up to him - I think that's why he felt so hurt by what Phap said - I don't blame Phap, because he's been fairly patient and understanding about the way Maze is, but Maze went too far in this ep and showed no respect for the creative process, and it's hurtful to be threatened constantly by someone you care about.

I'm looking forward to the Pooky-Phueak smackdown next ep.

I can't figure out why that bothers so many people - usually I can see why something might bother some people even if it doesn't bother me, but not this one. I get that in History 4 it's disturbing because they grew up together, but when it's something like Brothers and they just met, I can't see the objection, especially if the parents are OK with it. It's just two people in love - how can that be bad? I'm not criticising, I'm asking.

"Tetas"? That's not an English word, although it means "tits" in Spanish. I looked it up to see if it means something in any other language. It also means "tits" in Portuguese and "to hatch" in Malay.

Got it. This end of the year BL dump has got me confused - it was a virtual desert just a couple of weeks ago, and now the dams are bursting.

Hmm. Well, most of what's in the lists above should be OK - but dramas can't really have people behaving perfectly or there's no drama. You might be put off by Utsukushii Kare, which I think was one of the best BLs of all time, but it does have some uncomfortable aspects. We Best Love S2 too, and Color Rush has some dark themes. Everything else is mostly cute boys being cute to each other - I find them boring and formulaic, but a lot of people like them.

I think that's it - I hope I didn't forget anything "toxic" in the above lists. If you don't have a problem with stepbrothers who didn't grow up together (i.e. boys suddenly thrown together because their parents married), Brothers has a particularly wholesome interaction between the main couple, where they talk about things and behave very respectfully to each other.

I'm confused. Are they moving 55:15 to that timeslot? It's already half over, isn't it?

I second all these. Utsukushii Kare was my favorite BL of the year.

Well, Punn's final monlogue was about finding the girl in the pink dress, not getting it on with Weir - I don't think that was ambiguous at all. I thought maybe you ff'd through that speech because it was a bit boring.

If I could go back in time and not watch this, I would do it. Of all the stories written, I'm at a loss to explain why this was adapted to a series not once, not twice, but THREE times. Why? It's a mess of a story, there's no romance, and a ton of disturbing child kidnapping, torture, and murder. If you really hate children you might like this - its not often you get to see child corpses in light drama.

If you're going to do this for the third time, there at least needs to be something done to freshen it. Why not put in some BL, since it was cynically cast with actors who would draw a BL audience anyway? Or maybe deemphasize the child murders?

TBH, whoever wrote this is a poor writer. It's tonally inconsistent, like the murder is cartoonishly evil who identifies his/herself (see how I avoided spoiling?) as "the child murderer" - who does that? You can't then turn around and make them a victim who we should feel sorry for. Tonally nothing in this makes sense - it's like the author wanted to write five stories and couldn't choose so she stuffed everything into one.

The only bright spots are Pluem and Lee, who are very charming and delightful to watch. Pluem should be endlessly cast as a male lead - he's very talented and beautiful.

You said "good" BL, so I'm not sure I agree with a lot of the below - particularly all the 2 moons & 2gether stuff, but they're popular so it may be just me. Try I Told Sunset About You, and if you're OK with non-Thai, Gaya Sa Pelikula ("Like In the Movies"). Bad Buddy is good but not over yet - It's been great so far, though. If you get tired of watching the same tropes over and over (like when a guy trips and another guy catches him and they stare at each other for several hours), then watch A Man Who Defied the World of BL, which is a really funny parody.

If you like no BL and lots of very creepy child kidnapping and murder, then yes.

It was just you. Nothing is ever going to happen with those two. Krathing looks like he's going to get some romance, though.

I'm with you on this. There's been no progress on the subbing since yesterday and I'm not going to wait anymore. I'm not sure why I'm paying for Viki if I can't ever watch anything on it.

They obviously can't pay a lot for subbers, but almost everyone who would be willing to do it is likely young and would do it for really cheap. I'm really good about supporting shows by watching them legally, but Viki is the only service that makes you wait this long for subs. I'm canceling my subscription - it's just not worth the money as I only have it for BLs.
