This is a little like an accident on the road that you can't look away from. I know the production is trying, but maybe they need to import some specialized talent. Like writers. What exactly is the plot? We're moving in circles. The main Andrei/Sef storyline is just barely watchable, but even then, the most watchable thing about them has his hair obscuring his face all the time in an unflattering way, not to mention the hideous school uniforms. If Sef's character is going to be domineering, it needs to feel like a man taking possession of what's his, not a boy that acts up when other kids play with his toys.
The roommate thing was pretty funny - when the landlady said the room was sized for two I couldn't stop laughing, but it's too cute to see the boys stuffed into that tiny bed, and to be fair, the two of them combined can't weigh more than 100 kg.
Andre's multiple personality disorder when it comes to Sef is tiresome. We know for a fact that Allen can do sexy, but here it's more petulant child. With two beautiful leads the chemistry should take care of itself, but I'm not feeling it - it's still striking poses. The two actors are obviously not attracted to each other, which is problemmatic. They needed workshops.
The secondary storylines are horrifying - misogynist, fat-shaming, transphobic, homophobic, just about every -phobic you can stuff into them. I've started skipping over them and pretending they don't exist so I can pretend to have a clear conscience when I watch Allen's posing. He needs to wear less, BTW.
Technical problems continue to be annoying - sound issues were better, but the editing needs a lot of work.
No bed can be too small if you share it with a guy like Allen.
He can be as obnoxous as he wants, but he needs to ditch the flannel pajamas. In a warm climate like that, there's really no need to wear anything to bed.
It's terrible. If I understand your tastes correctly, you'd loathe it. It's boring, poorly acted, there's no chemistry between the leads, and the female characters are excruciating. The only thing this has going for it is Migo's body, butt shots and all.
Ugh. Why? Why did they feel compelled to ruin this with that line? TBH, it wasn't as bad as usual, because it's at odds with his behavior, like he made it clear he was manipularing Kong into asking him for his LineID, etc. If it were clear that it was just a line, it would have been fine, but as it was, it just didn't fit and felt like someone felt obligated to put it in, to make up for the lack of howling ladyboys, accidental kisses, and engineers, although we do have high school students in a math-science programs, so that's as close as you can get.
Extremely disappointing in what had other than that been a nearly perfect story. It's not a small fault to overlook - it's a rather large bomb. To have ended the first part on a sweet but ambiguous note, and the second on a not sweet ambiguous note with a sour taste is a real pity. Part 1 was a 9.5/10 - this was a 9/10 until the last minute, which was a 1/10, so maybe a 6 overall.
This episode really disappointed me. The kiss was so stupid and formulaic that it had no impact for me. From the ridiculous and so-overused-it's-not-funny triple-shot to the lips only touching, to the uke having his eyes wide open in surprise (which didn't even make sense since it wasn't a surprise), ugh. What a passionless and cartoonish joke. It's like everyone is terrified of being original. This series started out being kind of special, and now suddenly it's become a dreary formula - and there's a fine line berween slow-burn and boring * repetitive. I don't even want to finish watching.
On a minor note, I think there may be polonium in the eggs - they might want to avoid them, although I suppose it's too late - the radiation dosage must have been fatal.
What on earth is going on with this? What happened? S1 was one of the surprises of last year - one of my favorites. This is terrible and pointless, except for Emil in BDSM outfit.
Is it that interview that's got everyone so worked up? There was some other controversy about Title and other…
It's more total nonsense. There's a difference between "joking around with" and "bullying". Boys joke around with each other. If they feel comfortable enough to include a gay guy, that's a good thing. If they feel they need to walk on eggshells around him, that's a bad thing.
My best friend has an extremely conservative family - after college I spent a year teaching English in Poland - the first thing his dad asked me when I got back was "did you get any Polish sausage?" That was funny, not bullying.
Anyway, I generally like this series - it needs the energy turned up a couple of notches - not the worst problem a BL has ever had.
1. Acting. 2. Writing. This feels like it was written as a screenplay - too many BLs are adapted from meandering…
That's true in real life, but not BL. They boy in question has usually lived a happy and totally straight life, then suddenly his sexuality does a 180 because he catches someone who trips. That's my problem with it - it's simply not true to life at all. And it's usually explicit - "I'm not gay. I only like__________", i.e. he's straight, but somehow Boy X has caused his feelings to transcend gender so that he could be in love with another guy. I know a lot of people find that somehow romantic, but I find it stupid and insulting to people who have had to struggle with their sexuality and sociatal acceptance thereof.
exactly, to tell the truth it was starting beeter and now as I wrote there are things that you can not mix together,…
I was just watching Given, and it's funny that everyone is mindlessly imitating Yaoi from 30-40 years ago and actual Japanese BL is decades ahead - Given is so fresh and creative. Like you said the Philippines started out so innovative and exciting, and now they're bargain-basement Thai. I still think Stuck On You is not bad, but it could have been better if they'd trusted what they were doing and not fallen back on tired cliches.
Honestly that's what i'm afraid of too that Da On doesn't like TK as anything more than a friend but he has been…
But we had no idea about all that in the first couple of eps - it just seemed like he didn't like Tae for the bottle incident and his general weirdness. But we still wanted them together - isn't that "trope conditioning"?
You taped a photo of a guy you had a crush on to a page in your notebook you'd written a love song on, then crashed…
I was just teasing. It almost never ends up happily in real life - that's one of the reasons we like BL and why unhappy endings make people want to burn things down.
