You can’t have a bl without at least one of the main characters being filthy rich
True. But there was no staff and Bbomb's mother was cleaning the kitchen herself. If you were a gazillionaire living in a gigantic palace, would you even know where the kitchen was? I'm never bothered by fantasy elements, like everyone being rich - but within the rules they set, it needs to make sense or you're sitting there thinking "it must take her an entire day just to vacuum that place."

Ep 4 was better yes, but still they aim to perfection that it is too polish ,too much make up is one of the sides,…
Someone else told me about it - I don't remember the name - it's a game where you have to get to be friends with a new guy, which is why all the popular boys in the school inexplicably want to be friends with Tae.

I couldn't find Mind Trio - is it called something else?

I also like that Pinoy BLs don't exist in a fantasy world where everyone is fantastically super-rich and all live in palaces - we actually get some class difference and exploration of issues related to this.

Hello! I didn't catch that they had spiked his drink with viagara, but I guess that makes sense. Still totally…
I agree about the spiking - it's not as bad as a DRD, but that's like saying "he didn't rape her, he only sexually assaulted her."

I don't think BL writers give much thought at all to what makes sense from a sexuality POV. BL main characters are straight. They only go gay for one guy, ever. But it's forever. Gay characters are all like the fundashi - loud, flamboyant, and ridiculous. Because real men can't be gay. Sorry, I sound bitter, and that's not always the case - like in He's Coming to Me, Ohm is explicitly gay. But Nitiman decided to go for every regressive trait it could get its hands on.

Thinking about it, you're right, by the time he was with Aim, he was already far enough along with his feelings for Bbomb that he should not have used her like that.

If I could go back in time and drop it when you did, I would go back further in time and drop it earlier. So you definitely made the right decision.

Review Nitiman
Later on Noh does demonstrate acting ability including some fairly strong and subtle expressions of emotion, so I think it's bad directing and writing more than him - I was pretty critical of him at first too.

I don't mind drunk kissing - if both chracters are drunk, not just one. Drunk kissing between people who got drunk together is something they decided to do together. A sober guy showing up later and kissing a drunk guy is a little creepy unless they're already boyfriends. And no matter what the situation, kissing a guy who threw up before he thoroughly brushes his teeth is completely disgusing - it's almost as bad as watching someone eat poo.

BTW, it didn't get better after Ep 4. It got much worse. Absolutely nothing happened.

Your review title is much better than mine - it made me laugh. I agree on just about everything with what you wrote. Spiking his drink with Viagra is fairly mild, but that can still be dangerous if you have certain conditions or its mixed with other drugs you might be taking and should be prescribed by a doctor. But it's just another element of the completely incoherent and totally counterproductive "plan" the frisnds had. As if Jin & Bbomb didn't aleady suffer from nearly psychotic jealousy issues, the friends thought it would be a good idea to exacerbate them?

If a guy is sexually confused, he's not deliberately using the woman. I'm gay and I had girlfriends - I didn't know I was gay, I just thought there was something wrong with me that girls didn't do anything for me, so I can forgive that part, especially since Jin felt really bad about it and apologized and talked it out. But everything else about this series still sucked.

LOL, yes. I did say he's a good actor. But he has an adult confidence underlined by his looks.'

BTW, I'm a lot older than he is - you never stop treating your mom that way. They usually won't let you.

Totally with you!"Lifeless mess" LMAO, that's the perfect way to, in short, describe this series.
It's especially frustrating that they had everything they needed for a really good series and they wasted it! Such a talented and attractive cast! In the case of Top Secret Together the cast is too big and there's not enough time to give them all the attention they need, but at least they're moving the storylines forward. But here there was plenty of time to do Keam & Ball and Turbo and Kaownah, but they didn't! They just had everyone run in circles for 10 eps!

I agree. It's grown on me since the first ep, but it's hard to take too seriously a series that's based on a video game.

It is not 100% it was beer. As far as I know in the Philippines spirit and liqueur are often put into bottles…
That's a good point, but one of them had his memory wiped and was still vomiting the next day, while the other was barely affected. People have different tolerances but but not THAT different. If felt out of place. But it's not even the extent of drunkeness, it's the unrealistic depiction that took me out of the story. Memory loss is a comedy trope, and it detracted from the realism of the story so far.

Again, it's not a huge thing - but it did take this ep a couple of notches down for me compared to the others. I still rate this as the best thing I'm watching at the moment.

I had an Asian BF - his tolerance was not great. He didn't suffer from day-long projectile vomiting and memory erasure, but he stayed drunk longer than me and got there more easily.

The Philippines are way ahead in both representation and innovation in BL - Thai BLs are slick and well-made, but very formulaic. There are times where I'm writing a comment and someone points out I'm talking about the wrong series because I've confused them. Filipino BLs also have more LGBTQ+ involvement in all aspects of the production and so they have a more realistic sensibility, whereas Thai BL is written by women and aimed at women. There's nothing wrong with that, but I'm a gay man, so it helps me connect more with the Filipino series as they feel much more true to life to me. I don't think the trans represenation is great in this particular series, but there have been really excellent characters in others, like Stranger's Kiss.

Aww, thanks! Your theory is more interesting and would lead to better drama - it would give Lukmo reason to be sympathetic and supportive.

Someday, somehow, there will be drinking in a BL and nobody will vomit all over the place. They had like four beers each. Barely enough for a buzz, let alone still throwing up the next day. The drunk scenes in general were not great. It's completely impossible to have sex and forget. Even today I can still remember sex from 20 years ago when I was totally blasted. I don't even know how I managed. To be fair we're not dealing with someone very experienced here, but still, he has a brain. And it's also more or less impossible to forget a shower. At least not unless you've had enough to border on needing hospitalization.

This was the least good episode so far, but it hasn't greatly diminished my love for this series. I love the pace, the economical writing, the intelligence, the characters and acting - it's my favorite at the moment.

What the f#$%ety f#$% was that? What the hell exactly was the "plan" the friends had? To continuously sabotage Jin & Bbomb until they liked each other? This was the stupidest and worst-written thing I've ever seen! Was there a plot? What was it?

I just watched Don't Say No, and more happened in a single 30-min episode than in this entire series, and it made way, way more sense! I thought at least the finale would tie everything together, but again, absolutely nothing happened! The relationship between Jin & Bbomb isn't just reset every episode, it's reset several times PER episode. And every single plot point, and I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE is jealousy. The writer must be the most psychotically jealous human being that has ever lived because she's completely unable to conceive of any human emotion other than jealousy. Bbomb in this ep was jealous not only of Mark, who it turns out was just acting, for absolutely no purpose I can think of, but also jealous of his own cousin!

Do you remember where you've seen Jack before? Yeah, he was that smoking hot brooding guy in Manner of Death. And Mark? You know exactly where you've seen him. How did they take this many good actors and come up with a lifeless mess like this? (BTW, one thing this ep did change my mind about is Noh - I think he's wasted on this non-character, but he had some pretty powerful subtle moments.)

And is Bbomb the King of Thailand? How gigantic a palace does a 2-person family need? How does his mother even keep it clean?
