Including a trans character isn't inclusive if they're a caricalture that is only there to be comedy relief, lascivious, and ridiculous. It's inclusive if the trans character has an important role in the story as a real human being, like in Stranger's Kiss. In fact, it's distinctly negative and perpetuates very negative stereotypes.
I'm not done with One Day yet, so I can't address your point about the message yet - I'm specifically commenting here on production problems. But in terms of messaging, it was hard to get through the four minutes of being lectured at the beginning. This isn't a public service announcement - covering an important issue is legitimate and valuable, but in a visual medium, you have to show what you're trying to say, not tell it by having a static shot and having someone read you something.
The first think you do if you want to improve your abilities is subject your work to criticism. If everyone tells you everything you do is fantastic, then why would you need to improve? People are telling you yoyu're great, so why change a winning formula?
I would argue that in BL, the most important thing is BL, not a positive message, although I think it's nice when there's both. But quality of writing matters - a good message written poorly is not as good as one that's well-integrated into the story. Likewise, quality of production matters - although I think it's important to make allowances for very low budgets and support companies like this that are operating with very little in the way of resources.
That I'm watching it at all is support - if this were a larger studio, I would have jumped ship after the first five minutes. There are enough positive qualities to make me stay, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't point out negative qualities. Otherwise, why are we here in a discussion forum?

Not everything in BL is good, and not everything is going to be positive. The reason that there is so much that's repetitive and formulaic is that nobody expects or asks for more.

If you are creating a series more or less solely to showcase a specific couple, why would you not make the story age-appropriate? Because that's not the formula.
To be fair, producers do have to deal with the issue of getting sponsors, and its harder to get money behind something that's different, and that does provide impetus to repetition.
So far this is terrible, but the production has cleverly put Allen Caguioa on my screen so I can't turn away. The drowning scene was LOL awful, from the poorly-staged collision to drowning in 3 feet of water while the friends just argued with each other about who should save him. The editing is non-existent, the sound is not worse than usual zero-budget production, the acting is bad, and again, gay and trans characters are reduced to pathetic caricatures, while the main pair are, as usual, straight boys. Sigh.

Well, to be fair, BL damp towels do have magical powers. They can remove fevers (usually caused by rain touching anyone's skin), banish hangovers and drunkenness, and probably cure cancer. I don't know if they can stop the White Van of Death, but fortunately that spends most of its time in Taiwan.
Speaking of injuries, I don't understand how Sun can be 100% healed in 24 hours from a knife slash, but only takes 10 seconds to drown in shallow water. It's too bad Sky forgot to bring his damp towel.
Instead of the rainbows & unicorns date, this would have been a good spot for Sun to teach Sky self-defense, which could have involved some cute roughhousing and playing around, plus lots and lots of opportunity to see Boat flexing those muscles. Then a nice long shower scene for Sun, during which the bad guys could strike. I'm sure he would pause to throw on shorts before fighting them, but you can't have everything.
From the messages posted it doesn't look good to me - we've only heard from the writer. I think we should expect it not to happen and then be pleasantly surprised if it does.

IMO the best Korean BL to date, and one of the better ones overall. If you like Golden Blood, you will almost certainly love WYEL. I think it's better than this series, although it's short.
He's not really bad - maybe just mediocre. For me, he's so outclassed by Boat that he seems weaker in comparison. His still probably better than most BL actors.

I think it's what Evan said - moments don't seem to be "earned", i.e. not adequately set up emotionally. Turning on a dime from doing everything he can do to escape from Sun to providing him with a very heteronormative teenaged-girl fantasy day (he was even wearing what looked like women's clothing) was a bit abrupt.
Likewise, we never really saw any emotional journey from Sun. He's been groomed his whole life to protect his father's real son (even provide him with his actual blood) - and that son is a spoiled brat. No resentment to overcome? Frustration at all Sky put him through? Just straight and almost immediately to being stary-eyed in love.
Case in point - when Sun is describing what type of person he likes, the visual cues made it clear he was talking about Sky, but what has Sky ever done to demonstrate any of those qualities before this episode? He's actually been almost the opposite of all that.
It's like we're walking down a corridor glancing at photos, not experiencing what happens in the time between the photos. Somtimes the photo is interesting and makes you wonder about the context. But usually it's just a boring portrait.

I think you're right. Maybe if it were a little less OTT romantic and more active and "guy"-like it might have been more convincing than a fantasy afternoon for a 13-year old girl. It's hard to imagine Sky being the type of person that would put on a production like that, or Sun the type to enjoy it, although he's so in love he'd probably enjoy watching Sky staring at a screen.
Where were the teachers who make their students hug cute guys for 5 minutes in class when I was in high school? (BTW, that was not 5 minutes. We've been cheated.) When he said "I'll be out today - study what we did yesterday" I was expecting everyone to hug for the whole class, but alas.
So Ep 3 happened. It's starting to feel like the series is spinning it's wheels. The two main actors are OK, but the others are quite weak, including the guitarist, who, however, is not hard to look at, although he looked like a douchebag poser with those dark glasses.
I think the production needs to work on improving their technical capabilities. I don't really see any improvement with time, so maybe there are people involved that need to be replaced.
