I can not believe you wrote this nonsense, Do you realy think that good looking people like only people in their…
If you re-read what I wrote, I actually didn't say anything about anyone being in anyone's league - I thought the pairing was fine. I was just commenting that I thought the tall lead was super-good looking. But his looks weren't enough for me to care about the story. I generally don't care at all about looks - that's one of the worst things about Thai BL - they cast people for looks instead of acting ability (and that's not even getting into their horrible bias in favor of actors with light skin).
My issue was simply that this story had nothing to say and offered nothing original - just a checklist of worn-out BL tropes.
I would be angry too if someone wrote what you thought I wrote, so don't worry, we're still on the same page about most things. :)
But i am confused about Seme/uke thing in this ep. Like who is seme and who is uke here. First Mesa told Kaew…
Kim is the uke, but Met misunderstood a situation and thought Kim was the seme. They're making fun of the dynamic, which is one of the worst things about BL - relationships aren't like that. Sometimes there is no top or bottom, and sometimes (maybe even usually) the bottom is the boss. I was in a relationship like that.
They did the same thing as with Brothers - they cut out THE crucial scene that we slogged through 12 episodes for and made the show totally meaningless. The cut scene makes this BL. Without it it's really more of a bromance.
The secondary storyline resolution is also cut, which is also bizarre as it's needed. It's nice to see that Voice broke It - it's cute.
What are they thinking? Brothers had the actual romantic resolution scene cut, which made the last episode incomprehensible.
Your basis is just because of COVID situation. Well, having a season actor to play the role, it's just exciting…
The production values seem higher in this - the production issues in Quaranthings didn't really bother me much because Royce Cabrera was on my screen (just kidding. But not really.) and the writing & acting were good.
The only thing in this post that I agree with is 'crying scenes are good' and 'Kaeng is very pretty'. Everything…
Wow, that was a much better explanation than I was expecting to get. I guess for me there was nothing really striking about the chemistry and Kaeng was so awful at dinner that the situation as irredeemable to me. This was by far the most unpleasant pairing to watch for me except for Mon's - and it doesn't help that they keep putting him in every story. Does he have 10 of those outfits or is he wearing the same one every single day?

I meant I blame COVID for my spending so much time watching BL, not that I blame it for affecting production - I think everyone's done their best to adapt to a difficult situation.
Is it the same people who did Quaranthings? If so, then I'm sure it will be good, but they need to work on their trailers because this one made the series look really unappealing.
Why did you all like this? It was virtually unwatchable. The acting is not great (although the understated crying scenes were very good - which makes me think the director is bad rather than the actors), and I wanted to punch Kaeng so badly everytime he was onscreen (if it was supposed to be that way, then I take it back - First is a genius). The emotions made no sense in this - Puth's motivations were inscrutable. One moment he felt one way, and then the next, like the flip of a light switch, he was totally different. I would rate this one of the worst stories in the series. I had to take breaks every minute or tow because it was so excruciating to watch.
There is no chance I would ever consider dating a ridiculous, vicious, issue-riddled person like Kaeng. Ugh, he's so oily.I actively despise him, and Puth isn't much better - as selfish and awful person who I wouln't trust in a relationship under any circumstances.
Seriously, what did you all like? I don't get it. Are you giving Kaeng a pass because he's very pretty? Because that's his only positive characteristic. What is the message of the story? If you stsalk and sexually assault someone enough times they'll love you?
And is Mon going to wear that same f@#$ing outfit every day for the rest of his life?
The only positive thing I can say is that they're trying new things, which I appreciate.
I really couldn't watch more than 30 seconds at a time without taking a break. I feel so bad for the other guy. I don't feel bad for Puth, because he wants his cake and to eat it too and he should have firmly drawn a line.
I give Puth & Kaeng 3 months at best. Probably less.
I tried to watch it, but it's so unpleasant I have to take breaks every couple of minutes and so I gave up. Kaeng deserves to be made to cry for his terrible behavior at dinner. He has no class and I would never give him a chance after that.
I'm excited for this series - it's one of the few that explored new ground in BL - in fact, it was so free of silly tropes and formulas that I'm not sure it even counts as BL. Which is a good thing.
I can sketch out the entire plot based on that trailer. That's how predictable BL has become. I know nothing about the story other than what the trailer showed, and I've never read the book or seen any spoilers, but I'll bet money Sib is behind everything. Yawn.
I thought it was totally unoriginal and had nothing to say and was a waste of my time, other than that the tall lead was so incredibly good-looking that it's hard to believe he was a real person and not figmment of my imagination projected by my subconscious to represent my ultimate fantasy man.
I still think there's really only one BL writer and that we need to free her from the basement she's chained in, being forced to write accidental kisses, trip/fall/catch, loud ladyboys, wide-open eyed rubber lips-barely touching kisses, and engineers. Slight progress has been made lately because now medical students are allowed, but lately they've become the new engineers.
The kiss in this was terrible. Stop trying to recreate a manga!
It's getting to the point that I'm not really excited about any BL anymore, because I've already seen it all.
The trailer is not great. It looks like the same old story yet again. It contributes to my theory that there's actually only one BL writer and they have her chained in a basement somewhere forcing her at gunpoint to add accidental kisses and making the seme more tsundere.
It's disturbing that I even know how to write a sentence like that and know what it means. I blame COVID.
Anyway, the seme is such a total dick in the trailer that it looks like it would be unpleasant to watch, so I probably won't, but I'll do the normal check here to see if everyone loves it and then give it a try if they do.
I was hoping for some technical improvement over Stranger's Kiss, but there isn't. Sound is particularly bad - I can forgive the ambient sound issues trying to film on a low budget in a busy urban area, but the editing is harder to excuse, with the music so loud at times that the all the dialog is drowned out.
This was also really slow, with almost nothing happening except for a theft so predictable that I didn't need to watch it. Also, illogical - like anyone would rob a hovel with the occupant in it, who is known to be fierce. There was too much "tell" and not enough "show", and I still don't have any sense of who Nico is. If I had to describe him in a word, it would be "uke", which is all we really get, whereas Prince is a fully realized character - he's generous, protective, short-tempered, etc.
Anyway, this still has the passion behind it that made Stranger's Kiss appealing, and LJ Russell still has "it". One thing I appreciate about Filipino BL is that the actors are natural and not the usual Thai chiseled mannequins. Prince is not muscle-bound and 100% fat-free but is a lot sexier than 99% of BL actors.
I'm hoping this picks up the pace a little moving forward.
I asked a neighbour about it, a Filipina nurse working at a nearby hospital, and she said that cockfighting (and…
OMG, that's right, I remember that. I thought it was comic too - hunh. I'll have to go back and rewatch that ep.
At first I thought it was soft porn, but then it surprised me by being deep and insightful. And soft porn. Best of both worlds. The second season of that is coming up.
