I didn't know that, but I am whatever the total opposite of "surprised" is. If you told me that all BL is based on fanfic written by a single author I wouldn't be shocked. Or that some computer algorithym spits it out randomly based on "trip/fall/stare", "gay only for you", "engineer" and "toxic female", I would still not be surprised.

I can't stand when men wear their hair up, so I barely recognized Keam, who looks so sexy with it down.

I'm not sure I can slog through another episode of this - even Kaownah is bad in this, which makes me think the director must be awful because K usually stands out in everything he does.

Jin and Bbomb are so cute when they're together, but they're mired in some of the most bleak and uninspired writing I've seen in a BL, and I sat through the entirety of Amore.

This is not even bad - it's just dull, formulaic, and repetitive. If it were a trainwreck like So Much In Love it would at least be entertaining.

Can they stop adapting mediocre-fanfic-quality novels and hire real screenwriters?

Also, was that all we get of Boss (Kao from Oxygen)? For f#$%'s sake, I've been waiting for him - what a disappointment.

What sex partners does Keam have? I haven't seen him do anything at all except give sad yet ambiguous looks all the time.

I think the story should just feature a guy with a bat that walks around bashing people in the knees so we don't have to watch interminable football scenes where either Jin or Bbomb is going to be injured - every single time anyone goes near a field.

Jin and Bbomb are adorable together, but it doesn't make up for what I can only describe as supernatural formulaicity. I don't think I've ever used the word formulaicity before, but then I haven't had BL in my life. Not only is everything in this series totally lacking in originality, it lacks originality from episode to episode as the same three things keep happe\ning over and over.

I don't think Som Som is toxic, though - she merely has a crush that Jin has selfishly encouraged - it's not her fault.

I know everyone come to terms with their sexuality in their individual way, but it still has to make emotional sense. Jin is aware that he has feelings for Bbomb and doesn't seem to feel uncomfortable with that, he's just uncomfortable with the idea of being with him which he "doesn't know how to do". That's stupid, and bad writing.

I'm confused. Is this set 10 years ago, or was it just written then and filmed recently? How can anyone in 2021 not know how he can be together with a guy? What is there to know? Does me mean he doesn't know how to have gay sex? It's pretty much self-explanatory, or failing that there's the internet.

Once again, I'm convinced there's only one BL writer and she's being held prisoner somewhere and forced to write the same thing over and over. "More annoying trans characters and fujoshis! More trip/catch/stare! Make all the characters straight guys who are only gay for each other! More 1980's-era sexual confusion! MORE ENGINEERS!!!"

The problem with this story is that I hate Jin and have no respect for Bbomb for subjecting himself to this torture. If he were to state that he's an extreme masochists and he gets off on being treated like this, maybe I could accept it.

That's a great point. I don't mind enemies to lovers, which is usually based on some misunderstanding rather than horrendous character flaws, but in a case like this where they two mains both need serious therapy before they're ready for relationships, you're left with a WTF? feeling, especially when it's only a two-hour story and there's no emotional logic or context behind a sudden and 180-degree change of heart. "Hey, 5 minutes ago I was totally in love with a sweet husband-material guy, but then I suddenly realized after your vicious and loathesome behavior at dinner that you're The One."

I agree - I could understand his overreaction to Oh because he's in love with him and dependent on him - but he was horrible to Khim. I can see having a bad immediate reaction, but it shouldn't take more than looking at her face to see how wrong you are and apoligize immediately.

Tthe level of misogyny in BL is really strange, givens it's a genre aimed at a female audience based on stories almost entirely written by women.

I'm not sure I can remember having sex when NOT drunk. I thought that's what alcohol is for. I'm shy, so I need it or I'll just sit quietly in a corner.

I do like the guy who likes Phob's orange sweater, although in the winter the temperature drops from 34 degrees to 33 degrees and I get hot just looking at all the sweaters. Not to mention the humidity.

The orange sweater is one of the things I actually like.

I remember Lukmo because it was a plot point. Other than that it's Phob, the guy with the orange sweater, the other guy, the other guy's mom, the copy guy, the copy guy customer, the pointless gay couple, the high school kid with the comically dramatic entrance. the HR director, and the sexual harasser.

The fake girfriend thing is excruciating - I have to skip it. Who thought that was a good idea? That plus another checklist of tired tropes. Fall/catch/stare? Check. Wipe food off corner of mouth? Check. This story has hardly moved for 9 episodes. I'm actually tempted to drop the series. What a disappointment.

True. But the theme was change and Teh's inability to deal with it. The moon is also unreachable and belongs to no one, so you can't promise it to anyone. I'm being a little dark and negative today. I probably need some sleep.

That's a good point - I guess it's progress that nobody got run over by a truck. It's hard to watch anything gay-related from Korea from just a few years ago - if the main character wasn't beaten to death it was a minor miracle.

I haven't had a chance to properly stalk him yet, so I haven't seen it. I will probably watch it though, and I'll let you know.

I think the Mon story was worse than this, and all of the stories are made worse by his being in them so much, but this was near the bottom for me.
