That was better than I expected - Ivo Canlas was endearingly annoying and vulnerable. The start was a little slow, and I'm a little over COVID at this point, but it was enough for me to look forward to the rest. I love Royce's goofy smile in that pic.
There are too many people in this series. I was debating with someone about Newyear and Both, but after this ep I think they're facebook pages. You know how people post on facebook to make their lives look perfect? That's all they are. It feels like they're promoting a brand or something, and their advice sounds like it comes out of fortune cookies.
The basketball storyline seems unrelated to anything else and totally extraneous, and I can't stand the copy customer guy - he's so oily and smarmy - it's like the director said "come on so strong that the audience wants to punch you in the face" or something.
I wish it would focus on the main trio and their relationships. As it is, I'm FF'ing though a lot of it. I'm glad the Lukmo-Simai relationship had some movement this ep - Simai is the best thing about this series for me - he's so expressive and adorable. I love Aof, but he's starting to seem wasted on Phob, who is not very appealing. The poor guy is so talented and he doesn't seem to get the meaty roles he deserves.
There's an adorableness factor to this series that's appealing, and I'm not dropping it, but it's like there's a really good show in there partially buried under the debris of uninteresting side stories.
Some of the stories are great, some are awful. It really depends on what you like. Personally, I liked Thurs/Pao and am loving Sat/Choke, and for me, Sun/Nuea, Mon/Team, and Puth/Kaeng were torture to watch. I don't think you can go wrong with Thurs/Pao, so maybe try that and see what you think.
Ep. 11 ain't it bruh. And yeah I get you think their "cute" together. But no, just no.
Huh? What do you mean? That was incredibly cute and their chemistry was off the charts. I assume you have a problem with the extremely mild sexual contact at the end?
While it's dramatically not important in a story, this ep made me realize that it really is nice to see people interact as a couple - that never really happens until the last 30 seconds of a BL series, but here we got a full ep, even if a lot of it was played for comedy. (And let's be honest, a normal 20 year old man would have completely lost control having a Grade A+ hunk like Mork (good God that man is beautiful. Those shoulders, the voice, that face, the porcelain skin...) laying on top of him for 4 hours. Just the friction from his breathing would have been enough for several "finishes".
Anyway, this was a fun ep. I've been getting tired of this series (other than Duean) and this was a happy surprise.
i understand that you are not feeling this series and i get it , its not one of the best series , for me its an…
I'm probably even older than you - and for me there was zero representation when I was young, except for extremely, psychotically bad rep, followed by a long period of LGBTQ+ rep (actually pretty much only gay male) that were completely flawless saintly characters that were so boring and dramatically useless that they were generally written out of series because it was a waste of an actor slot.
Then there was a refreshing period where gay characters were "normalized". Now we're entering a period where utter moral and behavioral perfection is expecting in EVERY character or they're given the horribly overused label "toxic". A lot of people have described Mork that way, which is absolutley absurd.
I get your concern about the predatory thing, but in BL that is limited to "effeminate" characters. FUTS is fairly free of that, but the fundashi is ruthless, if at least (thankfully) not sexually. This is intensely homophobic and misogynist at the same time and is related to the reluctance to have main characters identify as gay - "I'm not gay, I only love______", or the distubing frequency with which the uke or woman needs to be forced - it's less morally wrong to rape someone than it is for a man to desire and pursue bottoming, or a woman to want and pursue sex.
I keep trying to give this show the benefit of the doubt but it keeps disappointing me. Between the offensive…
I don't agree at all (well, mostly - I agree a little. ) Mork is in love with Pi and is pursuing him. Do you think he should have just sent him a nice letter explaining how he felt? When you're in love, you pursue someone. I don't understand why people today feel that EVERYTHING is some sort of violation. I'm afraid to even look at the comments for the latest Y Destiny - I'm sure everyone is screaming that Choke raped Sat.
The think that Mork did that was out of line was the interview with the fujoshis, and he apologized for that. Letting that female friend play his gf was also dickish, but you could see he wasn't into it. Predatory is how I'd describe the way effeminate or trans characters are usually potrayed (thankfully not in FUTS) where they're screeching and pawing at every half-attractive man in sight. Mork has pushed it the limits a bit, but why does everyone always expect perfect behavior from BL characters and are always so unforgiving of any failings? Mork is 20, possibly in love for the first time. Were you a perfect gentleman or lady with your first crush? I was a complete idiot, personally. Probably pretty much habitually until I was 30. Plus, it's obvious to him and everyone else that Pi reciprocates his feelings, which is a strong inducement to continue. Pi never told him to stop, and when he finally did, Mork stopped.
We don't see a lot of what Mork's character outside of pursuing Pi is like because Pi is the POV character (except in the Dueang/Meen subplot). But Mork is sweet and caring - we've seen that he does nice things for Pi anonymously and without taking credit.
The point is that if nobody pushes anything, then nobody will ever get together and the human race will become exinct. You don't just sit around cyberstalking someone and expect it to lead to love.
Is anyone else annoyed with Mork's constant "You like me" to Pi?? Like let the boy explore his own feelings. (…
Yes, it seems desperate or like compliment-fishing. It doesn't make sense, since the other most common thing he says is "I know you like me, just admit it."
Yeah I have the exact same feelings for this series. It's probably been the most interesting BL series this year…
Have you seen the interview with him about this series? With him being serious, dressed like a rock star, and speaking English like a native, I nearly exploded. His voice would get me pregnant if I weren't a guy.
I found it worse every time than the previews made it seem.
I don't mean "worse" as in "lower quality", I mean what happens is worse for our main pair than I thought from the preview. Although now that I've seen it I think you're right, although I'm sure 99% of the audience will think you were extremely wrong.
I had to take several breaks while watching this to decompress, having a feeling where it was going - and I have to say it was unnecessary because it was so well done that I'm smiling afterwards.
I know a lot of people will have a problem with what happened, but I was really impressed with the complexity of emotion and realism.
I'm not sure if Jai is monomaniacal, narcissistic, or a sociopath (or all three), but I'm not getting a "I'm a good guy" vibe from him. He's hot, though...
I hate Oh's hair. There, I said it. It's just too much.
Downrating the episode is pretty silly. You dont have to be happy with how its going, but judging by the meltdowns…
The episode should be downrated because it wasn't about cute boys being cute boys to each other. People who are in love have very simple relationships with no drama or conflict, so if a show depicts a relationship in any other way, it's by definition bad, and . Also, NOT ONE person accidentally kissed in this ep, nobody tripped and was caught by someone for a long mutual stare, and I didn't see a single engineer. Where are all the engineering students? Are we supposed to believe that everyone in sight is an actor or marketing student? It's ridiculous. Nobody even patted anyone else down with a damp towel. How can we take Oh's pain seriously if nobody patted him down with a damp towel?
