the fujoshi hasn't done anything remotely big other than being a "fujoshi" and doting on licheng and muren's relationship.…
Doesn't it depend on the fujoshi? The one in this story is cute - she's encouraging love that she believes is there. But Fujoshis like in Oxygen which hound a straight guy so badly that he begins to question his sexuality, and causes people serious problems for him and people around him by posting about him as part of a m/m couple when he's not, is different. People are very sensitive about forced outing (too sensitive sometimes).
It is tiresome when a fujoshi is only a fujoshi and has no depth of character or relevance to the plot, especially if she's OTT and just a cartoon.
Most of the objections I've seen about female characters is that they're sexist portrayals, in may cases downright misogynist (like the evil gf trope), and/or lack agency - same for trans characters.

That's not what he was saying - he meant that when people object to there being any expression of sexuality that it's fetishization, he didn't mean BL in general. Does that make sense? I'm not sure I'm explaining well.
You've probably seen posts like "This proves that a story doesn't need to have sex in it!" as if BLs are full of sex. The desire to limit it to cute boys being cute is fetishization - having romantic stories about boys is not.
Hmm.. You're right. I don't want to call what LC did wrong because I like the couple so much, and if I see it…
I don't think YS would kill dad because it would hurt XS so much - he'd have to make it look like an accident, too or XS would disown him. An ex-bf, though... I would hope XS has the sense to send him away if he shows up - like on a plane to the opposite side of the planet. I'm sure YJ has already planned for his dad's rage and how to channel it where he wants it.
Something to keep in mind - YJ wants XS at home more than anything, but he sacrificed that to induce his father to let XS move out because he knew that was best for him. YJ has consistently been willing to sacrifice his own desires and self-interest for XS - and I think we have to ask what he would have done if XS resisted him at the hotel - but I think he was 100% sure XS wanted that, or he wouldn't have set up the whole scenario, because it would hugely backfire if he didn't - and YJ is not stupid, whatever else you want to call him.
I loved the smirk in the rear-view mirror when he knew exactly what was going on with both LC & MR. And you have to admit, he'd make the best wing-man - sometimes you need an evil genius to help you get sh#$ done.
Is Sky openly gay? I don't remember them saying that, but judging by his room, I'd have to say yes.
I was a bit down on this show, but this ep really changed my mind. First, the dialogue is really good, like the banter between Chris and that girl in class.
BTW, the teacher.... "Is there anything I can do for you?" "Yes, but we should probably go somewhere more private first."
And the conclusion of the "birthday party". I did not see that coming, or at least not to that extent! Wow.
The nurse needs to go back to med school. "Are you the family of Mr. Pisut?" "Yes." "Well, he's dead. Have a nice day, buh bye."
lol How very SJW of you. Toxic relationships often make for great drama. It's been that way for thousands of years.
I got a good laugh out of the lack of irony. "I don't give a fuck about what you think. It's just a coincidence that I'm typing several paragraphs about it."
Hmm.. You're right. I don't want to call what LC did wrong because I like the couple so much, and if I see it…
It's OK to like a story even if someone does something bad, isn't it? It's not like I'm perfect of have never done anything wrong - hopefully people learn from their mistakes and become better people. (Mistake meaning coming on to strong - murdering someone is not a mistake you come back from, of course.) If someone is habitually awful, they may just be a bad person - but I think we have to look at motives too. There's the expression "The road to hell is paved with good intentions", and there's something to that, but intentions do matter when judging something.
Li Cheng is well-meaning, he's just immature and a big exuberant puppy that humps your leg when he's excited. If he came on too strong and upset someone, he'd be horrified. Yong Jie has no problem upsetting someone if it's for what he considers the greater good, which is much more problematic. Li Cheng can back off and apologize - Yong Jie could ruin lives with his high-stakes plans.

He was not unconscious - how was he having a conversation if he was unconscious? He even grabbed YJ and tried to kiss him. Lowering inhibitions is not force - it's manipulative and wrong, but not the same thing as rape, which is an act of violence (even if not overtly physically violent).
Making a statement like "drunk people cannot give consent" is just not correct and not meaningful. People have drunk sex all the time without there being any rape. There is a difference between being drunk and being incapacitated - you can give consent while inebriated, you cannot while incapacitated. Xing Si was not incapacitated.
It's to the point that it's hard to believe there isn't something weird going on here. I thought you were kidding,…
We live in an era where quantity is quality. If I'm wrong and someone can demonstrate that to me, I'm happy to change my mind, because I'd rather understand something than be right. But since most people just repeat over and over that consent is impossible while drunk, which is not logically supportable, the only option is to get as many people as possible to support their side in the hopes that it gets other people to join the herd instead of thinking for themselves.

You know what? You're absolutely right. I'm putting way to much time into the subject and from now on I'm just going to enjoy the show and the storyline. and only address that topic insofar as it's relevant to the plot moving forward.
tbh the hypocrisy sends me in this whole discours. Everyone hacking on the step brother storyline for how problematic…
I totally agree with that assessment. I actually started to get into the LC/MR story because the bathroom scene made it more interesting than a formulaic comic romance.
I took the line about "If I were a woman, it would be harassment" to be deliberately drawing our attention to the fact that it was sexual harassment - and it's interesting that people really into that ship were unable to pick up on that.
Which product placement? I think I missed it. XD I was laughing the whole time, until Kikuchi entered. I felt…
Well, here they did it on purpose because they're making fun of product placement. I don't even think it was a real placement - he said it was tea, but it was an unmarked water bottle.
RIGHT?? it went from 8.2 to 7.5. This show deserves the best ratings. This is not even a bl, it's an eye opener!
What went wrong later on?
For me, that shower scene in one of the earliest eps of S2 made me laugh out loud - it was a direct rip-off of a love scene from Titanic. Borderline soft porn is fine with me if it's hot and has a place in the story. Or if it's hot. (Sorry, I'm shallow).
Me too. But don't you like Mu Ren and Li Cheng, or was it too creepy with all the sexual harassment?
Li Cheng and Mu Ren are the second couple - the comic relief for the main couple - sorry, I misunderstood you. Li Cheng and Mu Ren don't really "develop", they just happen because they're comic characters. I like them too because the actors are so good, but the story is super-predictable, although if Mu Ren ends up being the "1" and Li Cheng the "0", I'll eat my words.
Amen! I never watch a show illegally unless they make it impossible for me to watch legally.
You can't be perfect - and we're all human. It's not like I haven't been unable to resist watching something instead of waiting a week for it to be legal!
Hmm.. You're right. I don't want to call what LC did wrong because I like the couple so much, and if I see it…
Probably all of the above. I don't think what YJ did is right - I doubt anyone does. But rape is a step below murder - a violent act design to "steal" sex or exert power over someone, and being drunk is not some magical state that robs you of your personality.
All these situations are complex, and sex and love aren't about getting permission for everything you do in a neat little box tied with a bow. I personally don't see anything wrong with Li Cheng being aggressive and pushing propriety - if he was a perfect gentleman he wouldn't be sexy. If Mu Ren weren't a bitchy little grump, he'd have much less appeal too.
But they're fitting into yaoi archetypes, so they're a familiar pattern and Li Cheng's aggressiveness is "standard formula". Yong Jie & Xing Si's relationship is a serious departure from common formulas and a lot of people don't seem to know what to make of it. Yong Jie probably most resembles the villain who the seme has to rescue the uke from, so people plug in malignant motives because they don't know what else to do, and young people these days don't know how to back off a position once they've taken it.
So they're all watching the storyline and seeing Yong Jie in a different light but proclaiming they're skipping the brothers storyline when we know they're not, or they wouldn't feel compelled to announce it every episode.
different brains different hangups, there's no universal switch that makes you either ok with everything or freak…
You are, as usual, right. When I was that age, you had to talk to people in person, and it helped you develop social and communication skills. There was no opportunity to be that rude because unlike when you're being rude online, there are consequences to what you say when it's in person.
It is tiresome when a fujoshi is only a fujoshi and has no depth of character or relevance to the plot, especially if she's OTT and just a cartoon.
