I can't. I just can't. The first episode was a hard pill to swallow, but just halfway through the 2nd episode…
If it means anything, Andre had a quick turnaround once he saw how horrible and difficult everyone's lives were - not having grown up around poverty, he really didn't get it. He was actually quite upset when it hit him. Now he even helps with the farming.
I appreciate the ambition of this production, but there are only 10 episodes, and we don't have to cover every single social issue in the entire world. It's starting to feel ridiculous and amateurish. Besides, diluting focus on that many issues make none of it effective. If at least the episodes were compact and a lot was happening, that might be one thing, but most of this episode was flashbacks to events in previous episodes that served no purpose.
The acting from the lead pair is good - everyone else is uneven, but they're having to spout a lot of unnatural lines. What is this series about? 90% of the cast is trans, so you would think that's important, but not really. Is it about poverty? That seems to play prominently, but what is the show trying to tell us about it? To tackle these issues a degree of realism is needed, and that's difficult to take seriously when the entire population of the village is LGBTQ+. Sometimes it's a wonderful escape when that's the case in a BL, like Brothers, but here it jars.
There's a lot that's good about this series, and I'm sticking with it, but it's starting to try my patience a little. I've been anxious for this episode to air, and nothing really happened, except now we also have lookism thrown into the mix. I don't even know who that character was.
i dont see Pi being an asshole. How can you say he’s awful and rude?? He was always getting bullied. Are you…
True. He is in college, though, so he's not a kid anymore - like I said, I don't blame him at all for thinking Mork set him up, but he's making a lot of very ungenerous assumptions about a really nice person. I'm not even bothered by that, but I think the show went a little overboard - we still have to believe Mork could like Pi, and it's hard to imagine why he wouldn't give up and go after someone less hateful to him. Often our crushes are on what we imagine the subject of the crush is like - it's not hard to that balloon to be popped when you discover what they're really like.
On the other hand, this is a BL, so I assume Mork has known Pi longer than it seems. That is apparently a requirement in situations like this.
The kiss was so soft, tender and sweet. omg. I had it on replay. Just beautifully done! I don't think straight…
He also had Call Me By Your Name and The Way He Looks (if you haven't see this, it's the sweetest movie)
Sky did grab Paper tightly by the neck, which I thought was just the right amount of aggression to maximize hotness. The way they were breathing too... needed to fan myself.
It becomes clearer and clearer that Yong Ji is just a normal person with just a few personal quirks. His diary…
When it was best for Xing Si to move out, Yong Jie made it happen, despite the fact that it was the last thing he wanted for himself. This is not someone who does things for selfish reasons - I think he really believes he's the best choice for XS, which might be self-delusion to justify getting what he wants, but he believes it. And so does XS - he just hasn't reconciled it in his mind yet as something that's possible.
Yong Jie could also have easily arranged to be in the same room as Xing Si, but he could see that made him uncomfortable, so he decided to use the situation to help Li Cheng take Mu Ren out of the equation instead.
The original hotel scene was necessary in order for him to be the bad guy when confronting dad, who would otherwise entirely blame Xing Si. Just the journals wouldn't be enough - that could be interpreted as a very loving brother, and Dad would still feel Xing Si coerced him. There's no easy way around Yong Jie being 20 and Xing Si 30.
the fujoshi hasn't done anything remotely big other than being a "fujoshi" and doting on licheng and muren's relationship.…
Doesn't it depend on the fujoshi? The one in this story is cute - she's encouraging love that she believes is there. But Fujoshis like in Oxygen which hound a straight guy so badly that he begins to question his sexuality, and causes people serious problems for him and people around him by posting about him as part of a m/m couple when he's not, is different. People are very sensitive about forced outing (too sensitive sometimes).
It is tiresome when a fujoshi is only a fujoshi and has no depth of character or relevance to the plot, especially if she's OTT and just a cartoon.
Most of the objections I've seen about female characters is that they're sexist portrayals, in may cases downright misogynist (like the evil gf trope), and/or lack agency - same for trans characters.

That's not what he was saying - he meant that when people object to there being any expression of sexuality that it's fetishization, he didn't mean BL in general. Does that make sense? I'm not sure I'm explaining well.
You've probably seen posts like "This proves that a story doesn't need to have sex in it!" as if BLs are full of sex. The desire to limit it to cute boys being cute is fetishization - having romantic stories about boys is not.
Hmm.. You're right. I don't want to call what LC did wrong because I like the couple so much, and if I see it…
I don't think YS would kill dad because it would hurt XS so much - he'd have to make it look like an accident, too or XS would disown him. An ex-bf, though... I would hope XS has the sense to send him away if he shows up - like on a plane to the opposite side of the planet. I'm sure YJ has already planned for his dad's rage and how to channel it where he wants it.
Something to keep in mind - YJ wants XS at home more than anything, but he sacrificed that to induce his father to let XS move out because he knew that was best for him. YJ has consistently been willing to sacrifice his own desires and self-interest for XS - and I think we have to ask what he would have done if XS resisted him at the hotel - but I think he was 100% sure XS wanted that, or he wouldn't have set up the whole scenario, because it would hugely backfire if he didn't - and YJ is not stupid, whatever else you want to call him.
I loved the smirk in the rear-view mirror when he knew exactly what was going on with both LC & MR. And you have to admit, he'd make the best wing-man - sometimes you need an evil genius to help you get sh#$ done.
Is Sky openly gay? I don't remember them saying that, but judging by his room, I'd have to say yes.
I was a bit down on this show, but this ep really changed my mind. First, the dialogue is really good, like the banter between Chris and that girl in class.
BTW, the teacher.... "Is there anything I can do for you?" "Yes, but we should probably go somewhere more private first."
And the conclusion of the "birthday party". I did not see that coming, or at least not to that extent! Wow.
The nurse needs to go back to med school. "Are you the family of Mr. Pisut?" "Yes." "Well, he's dead. Have a nice day, buh bye."
lol How very SJW of you. Toxic relationships often make for great drama. It's been that way for thousands of years.
I got a good laugh out of the lack of irony. "I don't give a fuck about what you think. It's just a coincidence that I'm typing several paragraphs about it."
Hmm.. You're right. I don't want to call what LC did wrong because I like the couple so much, and if I see it…
It's OK to like a story even if someone does something bad, isn't it? It's not like I'm perfect of have never done anything wrong - hopefully people learn from their mistakes and become better people. (Mistake meaning coming on to strong - murdering someone is not a mistake you come back from, of course.) If someone is habitually awful, they may just be a bad person - but I think we have to look at motives too. There's the expression "The road to hell is paved with good intentions", and there's something to that, but intentions do matter when judging something.
Li Cheng is well-meaning, he's just immature and a big exuberant puppy that humps your leg when he's excited. If he came on too strong and upset someone, he'd be horrified. Yong Jie has no problem upsetting someone if it's for what he considers the greater good, which is much more problematic. Li Cheng can back off and apologize - Yong Jie could ruin lives with his high-stakes plans.

He was not unconscious - how was he having a conversation if he was unconscious? He even grabbed YJ and tried to kiss him. Lowering inhibitions is not force - it's manipulative and wrong, but not the same thing as rape, which is an act of violence (even if not overtly physically violent).
Making a statement like "drunk people cannot give consent" is just not correct and not meaningful. People have drunk sex all the time without there being any rape. There is a difference between being drunk and being incapacitated - you can give consent while inebriated, you cannot while incapacitated. Xing Si was not incapacitated.
It's to the point that it's hard to believe there isn't something weird going on here. I thought you were kidding,…
We live in an era where quantity is quality. If I'm wrong and someone can demonstrate that to me, I'm happy to change my mind, because I'd rather understand something than be right. But since most people just repeat over and over that consent is impossible while drunk, which is not logically supportable, the only option is to get as many people as possible to support their side in the hopes that it gets other people to join the herd instead of thinking for themselves.

You know what? You're absolutely right. I'm putting way to much time into the subject and from now on I'm just going to enjoy the show and the storyline. and only address that topic insofar as it's relevant to the plot moving forward.
tbh the hypocrisy sends me in this whole discours. Everyone hacking on the step brother storyline for how problematic…
I totally agree with that assessment. I actually started to get into the LC/MR story because the bathroom scene made it more interesting than a formulaic comic romance.
I took the line about "If I were a woman, it would be harassment" to be deliberately drawing our attention to the fact that it was sexual harassment - and it's interesting that people really into that ship were unable to pick up on that.
