I am being attacked for asking why they are shading this series. My gash, the level of hate is surreal.
Let's all decide not respond to any poisonous attacks - this forum is friendly and rational. I went over to BL Tea Cafe and it's unbelievable that a place like that exists - you normally have to go to neo-Nazi sites if you want to see people that full of bile.
People take uninformed partisan positions about things that aren't important to anyone put themselves - I don't understand. BL is light entertainment, not a life-or-death struggle. Yeesh!
I don't understand why people shade things they haven't even watched, but nothing about that site made any sense to me. Maybe you should stay out of there for your own sanity? I need a shower after 5 minutes of it.
A couple of weeks ago Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat released a music video that was judged by Jaehyun's fans to be…
You are really horrible. I never really block people, but I think we should all do it because this is a friendly forum, not a childish cesspool like BL Tea Cafe.
give me the discord link...so I can cuss the shit out of their delusional asses
Good lord. That is the most poisonous cesspit I've ever experienced online. I almost feel like abandoning BL entirely after 5 minutes there. Nobody has anything to say - it's all just hit-and-run snide remarks and insults. At least here people generally explain their POV.
Actually, you're the one who is launching personal attacks and providing no evidence to back up your opinion, and instead are marketing the site you're an admin for. That's a little odd.
Bas' story is the one that has more weight for me, TBH, as I couldn't care less about the "shipping" issue. It…
How is it not an ethical issue? BL productions impose unreasonably strict controls over actors and they are more or less forced to give up private lives (or to have secret private lives) in favor of promoting their ships. Take a look at any BL actor's instagram or other social media - you won't see even a hint of a gf in them, even though 99% of them are straight.
And it's an issue you can lay at the feet of fandom because it's considered necessary - productions are promoting the illusioin that their relationship is real in order to maintain interest in the series. If fans weren't like that, actors could have normal(ish) lives.
Indeed but in BL it's extreme, also being forced by the companies, You need to watch it to understand more, to…
Fan-serivce is weird. If people were just taking it as fun, it would be fine, but people lose their minds over it. These are actors doing their jobs - it's almost insulting their skills to assume they're together in RL and what you're seeing onscrean is real instead of acting.
Wow, the plot is starting to move. Prab is surprisingly muscular - his arms didn't look small compared to the muscle bear. BTW, I think maybe the producers are not aware that that term doesn't mean what they think it means. Also, the legs on those twins... yikes.
It feels like the teacher-student story is headed in the direction of false accusations rather than impropriety - I feel like if the teacher were a sexual predator he would have done something by now. He's had plenty of opportunity. On the other hand, teachers don't normally go shopping with students.
My theory is he's afraid the ugly teacher is after Maping - he always has a worried look whenever he shows up. Either that, or he's afraid the ugly teacher will catch him doing something bad. We'll see shortly.
Poor Nick. Normally the Nick-type character would be someone built up for you to dislike, but he's been nothing but a gentleman and you can't help but say "poor Nick" after ever scene he's in. I hope he finds someone who will love him.
i was thinking about starting this series, is it worth it?
Yes, definitelty, if you like people being good to each other.
This has almost nothing dark in it, and where it does, it's treated as a serious issue. While the characters are young, and do immature things, for the most part people are unusually considerate of other people's feelings, and when there are conflicts, they discuss them.
Example: the boys need to go to the hospital for a visit - the guy the older step-bro is dating wants to come. Normally, the younger bro would get upset, sulk, they'd have a fight, cue montage of good times spent together, and two episodes would be burned while they mope. Here, Older bro asks younger bro if bf can come, gets an ambivalent response, and gently disinvites bf. Crisis averted. I couldn't believe it. And it was sweet as f@#$ - you'll find yourself smiling all the time with how cute all this is.
Or in another case, a guy feels insecure in a relationship, gets set off by something, gets angry and storms off, cools down during class, then goes and apologizes for overreacting. Unbelievable! No montage of good times spend together... And it's not boring - it shows that good drama doesn't have to be based on implausible lack of communication.
The actors take a couple of eps to get into their grooves, but then it's pretty good.
Also, the entire student body and all the staff & alumni of the school are gay, which is kind of interesting. I'm still waiting for someone to come out as straight and be bullied for being a breeder.
Dropping after 2 eps. Not bad, but we've seen this story so many times already. There is nothing new or fresh…
Actually, it's much different than anything else. There are none of the usual artificial drama tropes - whenever there's any sort of conflict, people discuss and resolve them, and people are considerate of each other's feelings in ways that you never see. The acting also gets progressively better.
BL is by nature exploitative - the promos are just cute. It's a lot less exploitative than the gratuitous slo-mo shower scenes that all other shows have. This is easily the most non-exploitative BL that has ever been made.
But there's a lot to watch these days, and if this isn't for you, it isn't for you. I think it's one of the more special shows on and is worth the time. It's actually the show I most look forward to.
I like everything with Duean, the Kitty Gang was funny, and Mork is a deam man, but Pi is too unlikeable, although Phuwin does a great job playing him. He's so awful to Mork for no reason that I really don't like him or thing he's worthy of Mork.
It would be nice if he gets rejected hard by Mix for being ugly on the inside and comes to a realization that he needs to be a better person.
All in all, this is so silly and predicatable that it's hard to enjoy too much - I'm hoping there are some twists to the formulaic story. Maybe the secret friend isn't Mork - it feels too obvious now. But then who? The only characters are Duean, Mix, and Mork.
Anyway, it's good for what it is, it just isn't much,
To My Star starred a k-pop idol. Se Jin is a stronger actor than In Soo, but all IS has to do is play the "straight…
Maybe, but it's Thursday, so anything we get seems OK to me. :)
I love Se Jin and I'm looking forward to seeing Jang Eui Soo again - hopefully the rest of the series will be better. It does feel like it needed about 5 minutes more setup - the beginning was really sudden.
Aey is way worse than Nubsib though at least in the novel. If they follow the novel we will see Aey do some pretty…
So was Xing Si's, but because he's part of a ship that people don't approve of, everything Yong Jie does is evil. There's a double standard in BL - when people stick to the formula, they're forgiven everything. If they don't, they're satan. Or in this case, Aey is plugged into the formula villain role, so even if he were seen to spend all his spare time rescuing puppies, everyone would still hate him, because that's what the formula says we're supposed to do.
No means no. Gene said no, so it's no. I'm not bothered by it - human interaction is complicated. But people's double-standards are annoying.

All the BLs airing have links on the site above.
