Yes, I think we all have PTSD from that one. It's led to a recurring joke about The White Van of Death. For some reason it's always a white van that runs people over in BL. El camion blanco de la muerte. Much better in Spanish.
This is pleasant to watch, but is pointless. What is this story about? Why even bother with the mind-reading? Would anyone on the entire planet earth react that calmly to having a telepathic boyfriend? Wouldn't you at least want to fly to NYC to use it for untraceable insider trading?
Instead we're left with whinging over a fantastic career opportunity with a brief separation. It's pleasant, but forgetable.
I do like the consistency of the characters, though - nobody is behaving like a different person to support arbitrary plot points. I still think Sing is MVP in this drama - he needs a leading role.
Are people comparing CC and Cherry magic!! They are on completly different levels. CC ruined Offgun for me i've…
I'm watching the latest episode right now and took a small break to look up how far Nakhon Si Thammarat is (1 hr 15 min flight, about $75 on short notice).
I think TayNew are a better couple, but they are a little dull, and they're written a little like they're a man and a woman (actually a boy and a girl) rather than two men, although that's much worse with OffGun, where Gun barely even has any agency. The way Tay & New interact is a little saccharine and most guys would start to find it icky - like the thing with the cherries. (Kudos to the writers though, for making it not work because Achi couldn't understand what he was saying.)
Without any tension, the pairing lacks energy and fire - they didn't even use the mind-reading for drama, which nobody on the entire planet would take that calmly. At the least I would be thinking "We should go touch Elon Musk and see what he's plotting" or something. As a result, we're left with the dramatic limp noodle of dealing with a one-month separation as the source of drama, which is so feeble and such a small issue that you start to lose any respect for Achi, who is 30, not 16.
The kissing scene was cute though. But I wonder if it was painful to bend their bodies that much to keep their lower bodies so far apart.
While I think this series is cute, I'm doubtful that an AI-powered robot can actually experience emotions.
This is scifi and seems to take place in the future. AI can't have emotions now, but would you be willing to bed that will still be the case in 20 years? AI today isn't truly AI yet.
I think it's excellent. I don't get the lukewarm attitude here - it feels like a narrative gathered steam and is hard to change. I suspect some people are a little freaked out that one of them is a robot. Nobody seems to mind a 1,000 year old vampire with a high-school student, or if one of them is a ghost, but somehow a sentient robot is crossing a line?
How graphic is the part about dislocating his hand? I'm very sensitive to gore
I don't even remember it, so it can't be graphic - I'm not even sure if it was onscreen. There was definitely no gore. So far this is definitely rated G - except maybe a hair-washing scene which was starting to get a little PG.
Stay By My Side - Drop it, although I heard good comments about it, but I couldn't continue. You Are Mine - I love…
The Ramen boss is the hotest thing I've seen in a long time, but even he couldn't make it worth enduring the other ML.
I liked Stay By My Side - I think it was worth it. It did sag in the middle, though.
Anti-Reset - I don't understand - at all - any of the criticism. The acting is good, the writing is good, the situation is not your typical BL and has a lot of interesting moral questions that can be examined...
I think a lot of people are just prudish and can't deal with a guy f#$%ing a robot. Although it would be interesting if it's the other way around.
I'm sticking with my original comment after episodes 1 and 2 premiered last week. The actors are doing a decent…
I think it's probably necessary to set up the emotional bond between them to give dramatic weight to the scifi elements that are to follow. The existential dread that Ever 9 will be reset hangs over the series - his memory box was not exactly subtle foreshadowing.
All that may be true, but we still need to see the repressed longing. A character because of his past and who…
Don't get me wrong, I like the series and I love the cast - it's just the writing I have some issues with because I'm not seeing any character development. That's absolutely not a fault in the acting, which is excellent all around. (My favorites are Heng and Gap, but not by a wide margin).
I guess it depends on what Babe is trying to convey with his acting. If it's love for Phaya, I'm not really feeling…
I should clarify that I think Babe is a good actor - I just think the writing hasn't focused enough on character and development. Who the characters are has been static, and I think main characters need a development arc. I think it's clear now that they're together that Babe can definitely do love - how could he not with those huge dark eyes. And he can certainly do a love scene!
1. He dies, possibly with the help of some deus ex machina, because I can't see either Phaya or Tharn becoming…
There are a few other options - one involving the sister who hasn't shown up since that discussion with Phaya, but I'm betting on #1. Is Chalothorn really that powerful? He disappeared for a while to recover from a fight, and a Monk has been able to successfully stop him from a distance. Even that mythical battle wasn't one-sided, and that was 1 on 1, not 2 on 1.
On the other hand, in Asian dramas there isn't the same focus on commeuppance that there is in Western dramas. Things get forgiven a lot easier.
I am getting tired of repeating myself but here we go againIt's about time viewers stop putting some expectations…
All that may be true, but we still need to see the repressed longing. A character because of his past and who he is may not be able to take down his walls easily, but we still need to see what's behind the walls. I don't think anyone should blame the actor - he does what he does well, but it's not coming through - I think it's mostly due to the writing, which has him getting angry at Phaya constantly for often small things or ungenerous interpretations of events. I don't think the story has had enough focus on characters and their development.
The NC scenes were excellent - I think some of the best we've ever gotten - but they aren't built up to and I don't think they have the emotional impact that they could and should.

Anyway, I recommend it.

Also, there's something wrong with the world if this is only a 7.8. Come on.
I thought Ever 9 was going to hear something confusing when he listened at the door, but they kept it G-rated. Well, there was the hair-washing scene.
