The first episode was okay, not really have much things to comment on, but the way they editing is not really…
All the way through it I was thinking the editor needed the death penalty for this monstrosity. It was difficult to tell what was going on. Did Punn and Ashi know each other in high school, or was that a fantasy? If they knew each other in high school, which would have been four years ago, what is the point of the series? Punn can just ask him on a date.

am I the only one who skipped a big chunk of it?
I hit the +10 seconds button a lot. It helped me stay awake.

That was bizarre and all over the place.
I was too bored to keep track of what was happening. Except the second couple's scene. That didn't bore me.

Who is running the sound department??? And who approved this??? No one was like "ehm that sounds bad"???
There were a lot of basic technical problems that you usually don't see in maintstream Thai shows.

Anyone else getting Secret Crush On You cringe vibes?
Yes, totally. Except there was a spark to Secret Crush On You that this lacks. The lead couple were much better actors, for one thing. Also, SCOY's cringe was intentional - this isn't.

Shower scenes are never unnecessary in a BL. 😉
But he's really bad at it.

I'm the opposite. I had to skip all of LeonPob scenes in Don't Say No. They were cute but that's it. JaFirst owned…
I thought they were unwatchable - First crying constantly in exactly the same way, formulaic love scenes, and Fiat suddenly turned into a useless idiot with no agency. Leon & Pob totally saved that series.

It seems like comedy isn't your thing. This is a rom-com. Also, Ja is a huge goofball in real life, so it's kind…
But it doesn't.

I couldn’t get past the first 15 minutes of ep 1. Felt too chaotic but somehow still boring.
The first 15 minutes were the worst. It went downhill from there.
On Be Mine SuperStar Jul 4, 2023
It wasn't terrible or anything, but man was that boring.

99% of BL writers are women, right? So why do they hate all their female characters so much? And if they hate them, why should we want to watch them? The whole story was chewed up by a conflict I don't care about between two characters I don't care about.

Ja was a bit cringey trying to play a dork. He just has too much physical self-confidence that he can't turn off and he's too good-looking in a movie-star way. That awful bowl haircut isn't fooling anyone - when his hair was wet in the shower he looked like a superstar himself.

Anyway, I didn't hate it - but I doubt I'll remember to watch it unless there's an ad showing Ja taking another shower.

If you think JaFirst are boring why did you even watch? This is literally their series.
I didn't watch this expecting them to be boring. They just were. But the secondary couple lept me awake.

I agree with you about Pat, but then again, Tai is the idiot who set this all in motion with his lying and ambivalent…
LOL, I was thinking that Tai has become the world's worst high school girfriend, with a variation on the discussion

"What's wrong?!?"

"If I have to tell you, that's the problem."

It happens, but not every single time you're doing something that could be misinterpreted, like in BL. First, Tai would have to be stupid enough to go on a date with Lomfon near his boyfriend's workplace. Second, he'd have to run into the coworkers, who are taking a stroll through a park on the way to work for some reason instead of driving - third, Tai would have to be doing something that looked shady, which only happened for about 2 seconds when they were looking at photos, then they'd have to be moved to interfere, recording someone and sending it their BF, which is frankly loathesome - especially when it's out of context.

I'm from a smallish town in N. Cal (San Ramon, near Walnut Creek) and I've never run into anyone. Maybe I don't get out enough.

Ep 10 Pure DramaI see comments with ideas completely contrary to mine, and I wonder if we watched the same episode?…
I'm mostly with you. Nothing anyone did is 1% as terrible as Patt's violence. I found it a bit disgusting that severely beating Lomfon left not so much as a hair out of place, which I think was to minimize how awfuk Patts is. If he'd been laying in a puddle of blood and had to be hospitalized, Patts would be unforgivable, and that's not where the author wants to ho.

Tai was wrong to lie to Patts, but subsequent events do support his assertion that he thought Patts would overreact. But anyone who takes Patts' side in this may be doomed to an abusive relationship, because that anger could easily have - and should have - been aimed at Tai.

Also, Lomfon knew he crossed the line when he kissed Tai and apologized to him just before Patts tried to murder him. It was an impulse he couldn't control.

Tian probably should have done something, but remember than Patts knocked Tai down and Tian went to help him first - he was probably also in shock. Patts is also so much bigger than him that he wouldn't have been able to do much unless he was willing to be equally violent.

In summary, Patts is so awful that he should be in prison. Tai shouldn't have lied, but that was something to calmly discuss. Patts had a right to be angry, but not THAT angry. Tian should have tried to pull Patts off Lomfon, but went to his brother, and must have been badly hurt to see Lomfon kissing someone - especially his brother. Lomfon did absolutely nothing wrong except kiss Tai, which he apologized for.

So to grade their behavior:

Lomfon: B
Tian: B-
Tai: C
Patts: F and he should be expelled.

I agree with you about Pat, but then again, Tai is the idiot who set this all in motion with his lying and ambivalent…
I agree with your assessment - but I don't think Tai would have accepted Lomfon's invitation - certainly not an all-day outing. You just don't do that - not only from a moral perspective, but at the brand-new shiny stage of a relationship where you're in love, you just wouldn't want to.

I also can't believe Patts would get that violent - but then it was probably written by a teen girl who doesn't realize that a man punching someone as hard as he can in the head repeatedly with severely damage or kill him - although as I said, I suspect there was no scratch on Lomfon because if he were hospitalized or bloody and bruised it would be difficult or impossible to forgive what was essentially attempted murder.

But my problem wasn't how the drama played out - all four actors did a fantastic job and some of the dialog was good (mostly Tian & Lomfon) - I had a problem with how we got to the drama.

In the flashback to Lomfon & Patts' discussion, there is no answer that Lomfon could have given that would have allowed all that drama - and let's not forget on the subject of honesty that Patts didn't tell Tai about the conversation, which is an equally huge ommission.

If Lomfon had said "I'm sorry, but I need to pursue my soulmate", then Patts would have told Tai to stay away from Lomfon, hopefully giving an explanation.

If Lomfon has said, "OK, I won't interfere in your relationship, but I do need to talk to him:", Patts would have agreed but insisted on being there.

The only way for the drama to occur is if Lomfon lied, saying he'll back off and then not backing off, but that's ctotally out of character. Lomfon has never even bent the truth.

It was also dependent on Patts coworkers just happening to be just where Lomfon and Tai were - their path to work takes them past a romantic park? Come on. And if Tai agreed to go on a date where Patts' coworkers hang out, he's either evil or stupid. It was simply lazy writing, and so unnecessary - there are a dozen ways Patts could have found out that would have been consistent with the setup of the story and within character - wouldn't it have worked much better if when it rained Patts heard everything?

Regarding the half-naked guys, just remember that it's 30 degrees in the cold season. This is one of the first series where people dress like normal people instead of wearing layers with sweaters and jackets like Thai BLs - and Thailand is even hotter.

The Kenjie-Thor text convo was cute and well-acted - probably improvised, because dialog in a Xion Lim production can only be good by accident. The female characters are characteristically awful and poorly-acted - and really unnecessary.

I think we've had enough of the homophobic terrorism - that's really unpleasant to watch and really doesn't belong in a BL where the theme isn't going to be adequately covered.

Anyway, this is a guilty pleasure. There's a point where the cast is so hottt that nothing else really matters.

I feel sorry for this series and the actors. Actually it is nearly have a good plot, at certain parts it is close…
Yes, but that's some pretty serious compensation.

The text conversation between Renjie & Thor was funny and well-acted. I wonder if that was improvised.

i dont understand why lomfon not considering pat as his soulmate too? like you can hear him when raining duhh
I'm not sure if he can - he seemed to in that one scene, but that might have just been bad editing.

I just wanna hug Patt and Tien rn. Tai is such a manipulative person. wth kinda gaslighting is that? and don't…
Sorry, but even though Tai lied, he explained it was because he thought Patts would overreact, and Patts should be arrested and charged with attempted murder - he's a psycho. How do you justify his violence?
