Compared to the first two episodes which were loaded this one was slower, but still enjoyable. I appreciate how solidly they have set up the plotlines and characters in only three episodes. I think the lightness of this ep may be appreciated once the action picks up again. I can't see where this drama is going to go with everything at this point which is pretty fun!
Episode 3 was again a joy to watch :D Of all the current dramas this is the best for me right now! I'm so excited…
This is the current airing drama I am most looking forward to as well. This episode was even more full of comedy but I don't mind as I think they are balancing the drama with it well, and we will have a lot of angst coming up :)
Kinda regret watching this now cuz I have to wait for 18 more episode!! π The first two eps were so good!!!…
I have a feeling there is more than we know going on with MuDeok and that the Naksu/Mudeok part will get more interesting βΊοΈ Love your prof pic/gif! π

Interesting. Shows getting extended, having second seasons, and such, always makes me hesitant...however this show might actually justify it, with how much is packed in already. I wonder if this means we'll have to wait a while for Part 2? π°
Great questions! It might be them trying to close his gate again will be a conflict, unless I missed something.…
Yes you do seem to be right about that at this point. I am expecting they will throw more things into the plot and we will see what keeps them together (if they do stay together!)
letβs talk about the drama, everyone is so conflicted about opening Jang Ukβs gate to save his life, but canβt…
Great questions! It might be them trying to close his gate again will be a conflict, unless I missed something. But though his gate is open he still is weak and hasn't reached his potential since he has spent his life not able to learn spells. Naksu can train him to be more powerful. I think any other masters would still be afraid to train him just as they were afraid to open his gate. However you're right he technically does not need her anymore...but already I feel he would *want* her to stick around :D
As for your last question, I think we will learn more as the politics come into play π
Just watched the first two episodes and it was so good!!!!!! Now I'm totally regretting starting so soon and having…
How is their chemistry so good already? I don't say that often for a drama! But they're both great aren't they? π Agreed, this drama flew to the top of my faves list. I am most excited for it! π
There was one outfit (very flowy, worn by Jin Cho Yeon [Jinjyowon], when they released the beast to hunt her down)…
There is a translation of a post here from the costume designer Cho Sang Kyung who explains how yes, she was inspired by the different styles of hanbok throughout time.
obviously is not the same as chdrama different cultures, but some similarities, but name me one fantasy Kdrama…
I get your point but as I was saying in my comment I am not talking about the content of the drama so much; I of course see the similarities with the "magic sects" and what not. But what I meant was the overall feeling of the drama, the way it is executed, the way it looks visually, the absence of dubbing, even down to the color filters used on the drama, all these executed elements. The *feeling* of it is very Kdrama! It is hard to explain that though π
Is @mydramalist #mydramalist mydramalist.com is trustworthy?? It's not a joke right?? The ratings in the morning…
Dramas do fluctuate a lot especially at the beginning and even drop low in rating only to balance out later. However this is a very dramatic drop and there doesn't seem to be a bug affecting other dramas, so it's possible people are trying to sabotage the rating on purpose to bring it down π
It might be because I have seen many fantasy Kdramas before but I feel like the only one who doesn't think this feels as much like Cdrama as others. Of course I do see some of the similarities that everyone else is seeing but the style, the way it is shot, the humor, the plot progression...it all still feels like the fantasy and historical Kdramas I have seen, more than it feels like a Cdrama. I wonder if some people who are surprised by this one have never seen fantasy Kdrama before...I know it might not be what the average person thinks of when they think "Kdrama." But Bulgasal, Tale of the Nine Tailed, Lovers of the Red Sky, Arthdal Chronicles, so many more dramas all exist that are not your typical modern day Korean drama. I hope no problems are caused with this one because it is my biggest hope is that good fantasy Kdramas become more popular. I want more!
Wow! Really happy to come here and see so many loved the first episode as much as I did :) I have been hoping for a kdrama like this! Give me episode two!

"anyone who acts opposite him just can't seem to match his looks or talent" What? π In his last project he acted opposite Shin Ha Kyun who got a Baeksang award for his performance. And (ok, I am biased) but IU was amazing in Hotel Del Luna. I think Moon Ga Young is doing just as well as him in this, she is really lovable. What a weird comment, it seems you want to praise him just to drag her down. I hope you'll drop the drama if you're not enjoying it then.
Before I write this, let me preface this: that this show was a masterpiece! I actually loved the ending, it hurt…
This is a really good point! I agree with you that this probably contributed to the coldness people were feeling from older Hee Do which I don't think was the intention from writer/actor/director. I feel bad the actress has gotten a lot of hate!
Maybe you will find my perspective on it helpful, or at least interesting even if you disagree π I don't believe…
Ahaha it's okay! I see where you are coming from for sure. Again I do see it differently. The past is our main story, of course we will be more invested in it since that is where we spend most our time, but I don't see a big separation between the past and present as though the past only serves the present. They are all one story, Hee Do is still our Hee Do, young or old, and for me past and present work together, they reflect each other. It's not that we should care about Min Chae more than our characters from the past, just that she is how we enter the story. Hee Do is the one we care about, but we go on the journey with Min Chae. If it didn't work for you that is very fine though, it's interesting to discuss :)
As for your last question, I think we will learn more as the politics come into play π
