TSJ health weakened as time went and soon he would die. XL decided to force woke XY up so she could come back to help TSJ. XL negotiated with CX to exchange XY to one mountain in Shennong moutain range.
XY woke up and XL had already left, she headed back to town and heard that TSJ was close to death. He was refusing medicine and deteriorating quickly. She rushed to FL resident and found TSJ frail and unconscious, his maid was crying because she couldn’t feed him medicine.
XY took over and feed TSJ medicine using her mouth, she begged him to stay for her. He took all the medicine and slowly got better. A few days after, he woke up. He told XY he had been too greedy that he wanted to be her official husband, hence needed to be TSJ, he now realised he only wanted to be 17, being her servant is ok, as long as he could spend his life with her.
CX and FL had been having a hard time as TSJ was unconscious, they were in dire need for resource and money for their troops. TSJ promised to do all to help, and asked CX for his approval to stay with XY forever. FL got mad now that he knew TSJ loved XY, and was unconscious because of her. He was in disbelief because he couldn’t think of such a powerful man being ready to give up everything for a woman.
TSJ got back to QingQiu to solve CX money problem. He found that his grandma took a special bug to live extra years, keeping TuShan clan afloat waiting for him to come back. The price to pay for the extra years was an excruciatingly painful dead, which she was starting now, one year of absolute pain of bugs eating her intestine from inside. Grandma told Jing she did everything for the clan, now it’s his turn.
XiaoYao came to help relief grandma of her pain, she felt a lot better and finally understood why Jing didn’t want to marry Yi Ying. She told Jing that even without YY, she wouldn’t let Jing married such a woman, because she is on CX side, a new political force that could easily ruin TuShan clan as a whole. TuShan clan never marry people from political families for this reason. Grandma thought she needed to do something, so something she did. She drugged TSJ when he was least expected and YY pulled him onto her bed. He woke up seeing YY next to him, he remembered seeing XY last night, but unsure if he has done anything to that woman he thought was XY.
The second time XiaoYao came to QingQiu to help grandma, TSJ looked like he had some thing to say but he couldn’t say it, he kept calling her name. When XY was checking on grandma, YY went in and she fainted. XY checked her pulse and said: “Congratulations, you are pregnant”. Grandma was over the moon and decided the day of the wedding then and there. XY broke up with Jing. She pretended to look normal but as soon as he was back home, she spitted blood on CX.
CX money problem was solved and his army was stronger than ever, his granddad, the king visited Central Plain, scaring everyone. He invited CX over and asked him and his uncle a theoretical question about how they would treat different clans if they were king. They gave different answers, the uncle was to give preferential treatment to ensure longevity of their clan, CX said he would treat all clans equally as his citizen.
On the way back, CX got assassinated by very powerful people, he fought back hard but was in grave danger when XY pulled out her bow and arrow and shot at the enemy. She only scratched them, but the arrow was poisonous so she saved both herself and CX.
Jing then got hold of XY to explain about being drugged, she was relieved but she knew that with the child, it was over for them, so she told him there was no way back. Heart broken, Jing left and was forced married with YY shortly after.
CX then got married with a woman in one of the Central Plain families, reinforcing his political power. The day of a large ceremony led by his uncle, requested by the King had arrived. CX got ready with his troops to defend himself and take over the throne but kept everyone in check, not acting yet. On the ceremony where everyone expected the king to announce his next in line, he didn’t. He said: I am not announcing my next in line, I am giving up the throne today, leaving it with CX.
Everyone was shocked, including CX, he got what he wanted without a shed of blood, the king said he now powerful enough to keep the throne, so he could happily retire. He wanted a place next to CX where he could retire as a gardener, growing plants, living a peaceful rest of life.
CX then ascended to the throne, I think this made the end of ep 39.
Am I the only YaoJing now......seems like everyone is now a YaoLiu shipper 😅
There are more YaoJing in China and more YaoLiu for international fans. I love both Jing and Liu characters but it’s hard to see some fans’ logic sometimes.
