Woah! Yang Zi and Deng Wei BTS of both the kiss scene and the scene in the plum blossom garden are explosive. The final cuts are good but only deliver about a fifth of the emotions.

Yeah she saved him many times, he saved her once but I think the blood he gave back was with interest (potential a lot more than what she gave him)

How I see it, they all owe their chosen ending to each other.
- Yao Jing got the HE for XL’s life saves
- CX got the throne for Jing’s and Yao’s and other’s support
- XL got to die like a hero on the battlefield instead of a dark corner alley from Jing’s help (deflected him from CX’s man) and Yao’s help (offering her blood and bed as refuge when he’s wounded and hunted down multiple times)

Not sure if it’s a love confession or choosing words to “reject as politely as possible” so he doesn’t get super mad.

Yeah, this was in the novel, the reasons she accepted his teaching offer were:
- She wanted to understand her brother’s enemy more, and was curious about this guy that looked like XL
- She wanted to learn to “kill enemies” knowing how rough CX’s route would be
- She knew that elite society was a small world and the news would soon get to TSJ

Overtime, she did gain a soft spot for him, but I don’t think she was toying with his feelings as he was the one suggesting that she paid him back by hanging out. While hanging out, she kept her manner and distance , he was the one holding/touching her for “teaching”.

“I don’t care if you are my only angel investor, I will hunt you down, and I will kill you!!!”

Because the beginning was redubbed to pass censorship but they couldn’t be bothered changing later details. XY was CX’s cousin, it’s normal for cousin to marry back in the day.

I was so sure that the cutest thing in this series is either XL’s pet bird or Jing’s pet fox. After today’s ep, I finally realised it’s actually Feng Long. The guy is so clueless it’s hilarious.

Please don’t feel unfair for XL, he had his priorities and got to live to the top priority that his heart (and heads) desired. Not many people can say that for themselves.

By the way, without the emotionally charged “I love you way more than you’ll ever know”, how can we get to observe those mesmerising eyes of TJC. He’s now on my list of actors who look better and better the more they suffer (Cheng Yi, Luo Yun Xi)

Yes, without actual power, he can’t even keep the throne if the king give it to him. CX understands this, thus he is building his own connections and power.

I don’t think Jing said “it wasn’t me in your eyes back there”, he said “I was not in your eyes back there”, I read it as she was in more of a playful mode instead of thinking about him, caring for his well being mode

I don’t think it’s true, maybe a fanfic? I have read the novel and I don’t think there is such a scene.

Yes, Shi Qi (Qing) was a living proof to Xiao Yao that people can be betrayed and tortured and could still keep a warm, forgiving and opening heart. Xiao Yao heart was closed off from the outer world, afraid of getting hurt, until Jing bared it all before her and not only told her but showed her he would always be there for her.

I think the uncles all have sons, but none are grandson of the King’s noble wife. They (the surviving uncles and their sons) are all from the other wife of the King.

I guess the difference is because it’s FFB with a woman in the brothel, she saw them and still happily go out with him after.

Had it been Jing, she would either be mad, or hiding from him for a month, or whining for the next few years about who that is more beautiful, or who washed your hair: this maid or that maid?

If you mean like a brother and family member then yes XY loves CX more than life itself at this point.

I started to empathise more and more with CX, he didn’t have a choice, and ZWY portrayed his struggle beautifully. Gosh, this cast is so good!

I guess I observing the involuntary bodily reactions that she got from Jing and not anyone else.

If I were in her shoes I would blush to death when someone as hot as XL sucked my neck. :P She was thinking “I am so bored, when are you going to be done”

It doesn’t help viewers that she has better on screen chemistry with XL’s actor, so viewers are confused. I am confused myself sometimes.

No, I agree, I think XY put Xuan above herself, that’s how much she values family.

XY talked to Jing again because of Xuan yes, but that’s her conscious decision. I am talking about subconscious, involuntary decision like blushing or getting jealous. XY is extremely rational, so she doesn’t slip often, she only seem to do so when with Jing.

Personally I wouldn’t be able to help myself against XL, for example, if such a hot devil is sucking my neck, I would blush from top to toe.

Some folks said Xiao Yao chose TSJ because of safety but I didn’t think that’s the case.

Jing has been the only person she couldn’t help herself around:
She couldn’t help but blushed, got jealous, got whiny, said she didn’t want to see him but then dressed up girly for him.

Other folks she loved but she could help herself. I am interested but:
- You are just a brother to me
- You are not suitable to enter a girl’s dream.
- I promised to do one thing for that guy so I couldn’t marry you.

The heart wants what it wants. When you really love someone, no matter how flawed the person is, you always find valid reasons to go forward. When the love is not enough, you have excuses.
