I'm usually not against remakes, but this one is tough for me. I find that K-Drama's tend to have higher quality production value, and as a result I can see it being more visually appealing. However, the biggest attraction to the TW version imo is the acting and chemistry, demonstrated in particular by the ML. I also feel like remakes make more sense if they're done further in the future, as a way to introduce fresh content. Anyways, I'll decide when time comes if I want to watch it or not.
I cannot believe this is her first?! Wild. I'd say that she accomplished what Record of Youth was trying to go for (for the record, I still enjoyed Record of Youth). Fantastic detail, witty, and great dialogue. Excited for her future work!
I think Reply 1988 did a decent job of trying to do that
100%. I had to rewatch it to catch everything I missed. But I definitely had no idea until the end. Similar to how I felt in Dream High. But anything that women writes has gone into my favorites.
the way this episode ended made it feel like there's a season 2. however, cast have all moved on to doing other…
Given that Love Alarm 2 is coming out 2 years after the first season, I wouldn't take it off the table! lol (As in, they could go off and do other things, then come back and film)
I really liked this drama, but I do accept the fact that there were some hefty plot-holes. Especially surrounding the "rules" of the worlds. I also found the last couple episodes to go on a lot longer than it needed to, and might have really ruined the setup of the entire first half. But, I still think it was a good drama, and a worthy watch. I think given the flaws, most people would at the very least find it enjoyable to watch.
I wish I watched this back in the day, it's really really hard to appreciate it the same way today. That said, I'm glad I watched it nonetheless. I think its important to watch the classics and understand the references, as well as get a reminder of how far the k-drama world has come.

I understand it is the whole point, but other than validation from another man liking her, there hasn't been much validation elsewhere let alone from herself. She's still considers herself ugly, she doesn't want others seeing her, and continues to run away from herself.
This is the main reason why I stopped watching Korean dramas for over 2 months, I just can't with all the beauty…
I agree with everything you said here - what I'm holding out for, is that we're going to get some lessons in the end about loving who you are, and also that you are beautiful with or without makeup. Beauty is how you feel about yourself, and that nobody should ever be made to feel like they're not beautiful.
I understand that Kang Soo Jin's hand washing comes from a place of anxiety and mental health issues, so I don't mean this with any ill intent, but all I can think abt when I see her wash her hands so diligently is that she's doing it so well, no way she's getting covid.
Just finished binging the drama. I'll admit there were a few scenes I found a little too dramatic / could have been done better, but overall, a very well thought out drama. They did a really good job of helping the watcher keep track of time, and didn't allow you to figure out what really happened until the end. I especially enjoyed the message of the last episode. I did fall for the relationship aspect, so that was a huge bonus. Overall, a worthy watch.
is Start-Up worth watching? I see everyone with 2nd lead syndrome for Seonho. I hate frustrating love lines
I honestly think watching for Seon Ho + Hae Sook was the highlight for me. Until the very end, their characters and plot were what kept me coming back for more. I didn't care much for the rest.
I've been out of the TW dramas for so long, that I wasn't sure which drama to watch to get back into it. But, looks like I may have found one! Someday or One Day it is!
I'm kind of confused what changed between the time Su Ho kind of chewed her out thinking he's not worthy cause SJ said so, to now going for it. I'm not mad about it, just inconsistent.
If Su Ho was unsuccessful in confessing by the end of ep 8 though, I might have lost my marbles. That was frustrating as heck! Oh to be young and in love though.
That said, i'm REAL excited for my leads to be friends next episode! The bromance I've been waiting for.
