I think if I had watched this when I first started watching k-drama/movies, I would have loved this and ate it all up. But watching this now, I just felt like it was really lacking. There were a couple of time jumps that I didn't really understand, and the ending felt a little rushed. But regardless, I'm glad I watched it. I always want to watch drama's that carry significance and are referenced in drama's years later.
Here are my questions: 1. How did yoyo boy and Gang Shin Jae meet up in that alley? 2. I don't understand the timeline anymore. Are there many timelines? Has this timeline happened before but we just saw a different timeline from the beginning episode? Or one timeline that's changed altogether? 3. How is LG keeping track of time in the multi-dimension? Assuming his half of the flute didn't disappear (which they didn't make very clear), how can he even tell how much time is passing? 4. Is the time that he has to wait for time to unfreeze going in and out of that portal super long now? Doesn't he have to wait like hours? 5. Am I to assume that the first time this whole scenario played out (ie. killing of LG's dad), that Lee Lim didn't kill himself? So he made a different decision this time based on what this Lee Lim of 2020 said? 6. How did Jo Young not freak out when he realized that LG didn't come back? Why didn't Jang Ta Eul tell him?
I just keep throwing myself for a loop. If it went like this originally, Lee Lim tries to kill LG/Dad, but LG lives, so Lee Lim tries to go back in time the first time to tell himself to kill LG, but then he doesn't listen to himself, LG lives again, 3rd time's the charm, this time Lee Lim kills his future self, but that never really explains how LG ever figures out that he needs to save himself. I dunno I'm confused. I interested to see how they're going to end this series. I'm more watching now just for comical relief.
My complaints are likely the same as everyone else's. I had to laugh some parts off otherwise I would have probably bashed my head into a wall.
I am SO confused. I don't even know where to begin. This just goes beyond all the brain power I have to understand. Maybe I'm missing everything, but honestly all I can muster is what? What? What is happening?!
I really liked it overall, but I think they should have spent more time on the growth of Seung Min. I would have liked to see his character have an actual epiphany and come to terms with the mistakes from his youth. I took his final visit to his mom and him fixing the door as his way of coming to terms with it, but I felt that it wasn't clear enough. To me, it seemed like he was the exact same coward and insecure man from when he was a teenager, and I saw no room for redemption. From being unable to protect/confess his love, to cheating on his fiancee with that final kiss, and even potentially giving Seo Yeon hope at the end there... I'm fine if they didn't end up together, but if the intention was to make me absolutely detest the male lead, it worked.
I think the final "conflict" was unnecessary (and did we ever figure out if she got together with her boss?) but I still think it was a really good watch. I think it really is a coming of age story at the end of the day. The part that made it really relatable to me though is when she wrote that email about how her life was not where she wanted it to be and she felt like a loser. Every decision was one she made but why was her life like that. I felt that. That one hit hard.
I told myself I was going to drop this drama but alas, here I am. So, mess of story-line aside, the biggest thing I'm curious about is how in the heck LG goes back to save himself? How does he know he needs to save himself? I just can't wrap my head around it. I feel like it's just an endless loop. Also, what happens to the current worlds after he's gone back in time and messed with it? Argh I'm so confused. I'm also so disappointed they direction they took Jang Eun Chae. I felt like she had the opportunity to be a badass and then they just made her a traitor and enemy. Also, I don't understand how LG in episode 11/12 knew that KGE was in his world. Like why did he all of a sudden send out this massive search party? What tipped him off? Final also, how did LG & KGE NOT anticipate that KGE's doppleganger was in The Republic of Korea?! Ugh anyways my rant is over. I just want to see how this is going to end, hopefully my questions will all be answered. Though I highly doubt it.
@pabokisu ,actually he pays attention to her all the time.the writer and the director gave us small hints here…
I think the writer did a really good job of trying to deceive the viewers. I remember each of those scenes you mentioned, and you're right they were so subtle that by the end when everything came to a head I was initially pretty surprised, but had to remember that all those signs pointed to one thing.
I wished the ending was a little more elaborated in terms of where the heck Joon Young went. How does a kid literally disappear for a year without anything? How did he live? I also wish they told us what happened to Hyun Seo. I guess after that betrayal there was nothing more to say. Still, she almost died cause of TO. Otherwise, I think everything was fantastic. I'm so happy that Ye Rim left her husband, and I'm really proud of Sun Woo and even Da Kyung for trying to move forward.
I understand you perfectly well.Even better, I had negative expectations, I was ready to be disappointed! And I…
haha - okay i've caught up. I'll admit that I really had to concentrate on what was happening to follow along especially as the plot continues to scatter. By the end of episode 8 though I've completely lost track of which world anyone except the leads are in, and there are so many freaking side characters I have no idea who I should be concentrating on. I honestly just find a lot of what is ridiculous to be funny. I am not of the opinion that there isn't chemistry between the leads, though the romance itself was really random and out of the blue, but fine. Ultimately, I think that it's still worth watching, and still of the mindset that it's not as horrible as I originally thought. Though, there is still plenty of time for everything to completely unravel. So, i'll hang tight.
I'm two episodes in - but I came in with absolutely zero expectations from hearing so much negativity/backlash regarding it. I'll be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised. Not sure if it was because I was expecting worse ... but It's a lot better than I thought. Let's see if it gets worse haha
