Woo Hyun did the right choice by portraying Crown Prince Lee Sung. He is amazing in this sageuk since the beginning, and I loved his acting even more in the last two episodes. I hope this role will bring him the recognition he deserves and more main roles in the future.

The whole cast (except Chani, I think his acting is really terrible) is actually very good and I'm impressed by many actors portraying their characters in this one.

The last two episodes were very good. Something I like since the beginning is that they film many scenes slowly, with long shots and focus on the characters, not multiplying viewing angles, something we don't see often nowadays. It slows the pace and add a lot of emotional depth to the scenes, I really like that.

It would have been even better if they didn't mixed many contemporary references that were not necessary (as usual) in this historical settings in the previous episodes. But the mature side of the story is something they did really good here, because it serves deeper meanings than just showing great bodies and sexual intercourses.

I am really looking forward to the finale next week.

Well, I don't think there is any misunderstanding, based on your answer. There is just a big difference on education and how writing should be when expressing an opinion I guess.

Well, despite the history, in that case, he just expressed his opinion about episode one, and you're attacking him right away for it, so in my opinion you're at fault here. You could have just avoid his comment if you disagree with it and know he would not answer you nicely. People need to stop attacking others for having a different opinion. There is a difference between a disagreement and dismissing others opinions.

The problem with comment like this one is not that you give your opinion, is that you judge that the person expressing his in the first place is wrong and you deny his right to have his own opinion about it. Rewrite your entire comment by adding subjectivity and it would be okay, but you can't write something like "The story has depth, the adaptation is faithful, and the acting is delivering exactly what it needs to." as something that everybody must believe and agree with, it's only YOUR opinion, and it can be shared or not. So you should start to write like you express a personal opinion and not like your are stating facts that everybody should agree with. This arrogant way to write what others should believe is quite annoying.

Why do they do that seriously ? I don't like when they mix so different tones in the same drama. In one episode of 30 minutes it goes to overly dramatic to overly funny so many times, I really dislike that. And it seems they choose to follow the path of men/women romances by putting all the tropes and clichés possible. Too bad, the plot looked interesting and the actors promising, but so far it's quite boring (but I guess they carefully targeted their audience and it will work for teenage girls and young women full of fantasies with men romances).

I finally saw "Demon Force" in cinema today. I was glad I could see the second instalment of the trilogy on the big screen.

I liked it overall, but I think this part is weaker than the first one, even if it's still a good entertainment. Of course, there is not the effect of discovering this story like I had for the first part, but I also find this one a bit rushed at times, kind of inconsistent through the story development (some parts should have been more developed in my opinion). I don't know exactly the original story it is based of but some developments were weird to me. The CGIs too. If some are of very good quality (Yang Jian's elemental teleportations, the Qilin that Commander Wen Zhong mounts), some were disappointing for me (the battles scenes with the Mo generals, the flying parts, Yin Jiao...). So kind of mixed feelings about that. However, I fell in love with Ji Fa once again, and Yu Shi too. It's no surprise this role was a true revelation for the public as a new actor. I think he really couldn't dream of a better first role as an actor. The character is amazing and Yu Shi delivers a great performance portraying Ji Fa.

Based on the credits scenes at the end, the last part should be interested, but I guess I will find it too much for some parts too. I'm still very looking forward to it.

Such a good news. Nana is a great actress, I can't wait to see her portray Madam Suk. And I'm even more excited to see her play with Chang Wook, especially knowing the dynamic and relationship between their two characters.
I wasn't too thrilled by this remake of an adaptation, but now I'm really looking forward to it, they can give amazing performances portraying these characters.

Despite some flaws (typical fusion sageuk that mixes contemporary days references and elements with an historical settings) and some story developments that I don't like (which doesn't mean it's bad, just not what I wished), it's a very interesting sageuk for it's profound reflection on the conditions and aspirations of the characters, behind the main sexual side of the story.

Chang Ryul is a real revelation for me in this drama. He is portraying his character amazingly and I like the chemistry they have together with Go A Ra.

Son Woo Hyun, despite the development of his character's story that I don't really like, even if there is a completely understandable reasoning behind his actions, delivers a very good performance in this sageuk. And that body ! Truth be told, his handsome face is enough ^^, but his muscles are amazing.

And special mention to Bae Yun Kyu (who has a great body too ^^). I'm really looking forward to the next episodes.

"XIII: Nakarai to Hagiwara

I guess that's the problem I have with this one. Which is stupid because, of course, BL dramas are not done for my kind. But still.

Well, unfortunately, as I expected after the last two episodes, the last one was very lame. For me, this BL started very good but sinked to an average cliché BL in the end. Too bad.

I thought the dynamics between the characters were good until the end of episode 4.

Adding this love triangle in the next episodes isn't something I am looking for. Chang Ryul is a discovery for me in this sageuk, he is so charming playing his character Choi Hwan, I love it. The cat and dog game between Princess Hwa Ri and Choi Hwan is nice and fun since the beginning, adding a potentiel serious love interest for the character Jang Won will seriously diminish my interest and liking for this sageuk I believe. I find Chani's acting very plain and boring. We will see how it goes this week, but as it is a real fun watch (even though it is total gibberish when it comes to historical accuracy) I hope it will not disappoint halfway through.

Watching Son Woo Hyun playing the Crown Prince is a real delight, he is marvellous. I want to see him more in main roles and in another sageuk after this.

I do agree that an adaptation doesn't have to follow the source material in details and can also use it only as a starting point for something very different. Of course, for people who enjoyed the original material, it will be either frustrating, disappointing or refreshing, interesting, etc. But that's another story.

As you pointed out, I think the issue here with "Futtara Doshaburi" is that what the screenwriter & director intended is either not understood (or understandable) by the audience and in this case it's only a bad written and filmed scenario, or it is deliberately vague and ambiguous to voluntarily confuse the audience, and in this case the heated debates here should be more respectful (I don't see the point of insulting someone who just have a different opinion about the story of a BL drama...), because nobody is wrong or right but only interpreted what he saw based on his own understanding of it.

I sincerely do think that anything can be forgivable if the person who did that bad act sincerely show remorse, ask for forgiveness and go to the right path for the rest of his life. Not an easy feat to achieve but I truly believe it's possible. ;)

Yes, I think Matsumoto Hiroki is doing really good here too. Having seen Ito Asahi in other projects, I don't like his acting and don't think he is a really good actor, but that's very subjective and personal. Even if the character is indeed complex to portrayt, I don't think he is on the level of others here unfortunately, and someone else would have pull off the character Nakarai Sei much better I believe (I have Beppu Yurai from "Happy of the end" in mind for example).

I saw a lot of comments after episode 6 going on with the usual "you don't understand anything, in the original book, blablabla". I don't really care about the debate regarding the rape/sexual intercourse between Nakarai and Fujisawa, if it's real or not, if there is consent or not, that's not my point here. I think the simple fact that there is a debate over this here just show that either they left it unclear purposely or it was poorly written or/and acted.

But people who write these type of comments need to stop for a moment and use their brain for a minute, because writing comments like this is quite stupid.

When an adaptation is made, a lot of people who don't know the original material will watch it, so the viewers need to understand what is going on, or deduced things, solely with what is shown in the the adaptation. Of course, those who know the original material will make comparisons and have another point of view on the story, but for the others the adaptation is the same as an original story. So coming after and saying that things are obvious because you have knowledge of the original material is pointless (and really a lack of intelligence for me), because obviously the people who haven't read or seen the original story won't have this knowledge, and thus shouldn't need it to understand the adaptation. An adaptation can't relate on people knowledge of the original work for things to be understand, or at least deduce by all the viewers, or a big disclaimer is needed at the start if this knowledge is mandatory to understand.

I don't know the intentions of the director and the screennwriter in this case (maybe it's done like this on purpose), but objectively, it seems like a bad written scenario or/and bad acting and production of the scene, if what is so clear for people who have read the novel is interpreted so variously by the watchers of the adaptation.

Because I am not the type of person who will drop a TV series once I start watching them, or I do it from the first episode. I liked the first couple of episodes, so it's always interesting to watch until the end. After all, surprises can still happen. And as I wrote, I like the acting of Muto Jun a lot so for that only I will watch until the end, even if I aml not satisfied with the story and characters developments.

Well, the disappointment continues this week. At first I thought we had a clever and original story here, but in the end it's just a very predictable and cliché BL. Another one. Whatever happens in the last episode doesn't really matter at this point.
The only good thing about it for me is Muto Jun. I hope to see him soon in another role, he is a good actor and I want to see him in something different.
