Shao You paid thinking she was Hua Yong 's sister. Hua Yong told Shao You that she was his sister. Meanwhile Hua Yong is using Gao Tu's sister to get closer to Shao You.
Not every scene will land the same way for everyone, but calling it deadpan or dismissing it outright ignores…
One thing to understand about HY is that he is completely obsessed with SSY, his entire world revolves around him. HY is cold and ruthless to everyone else, never taking crap from anyone, but when it comes to SSY, he has a soft spot like no other. So, from what I watched, I didn’t interpret that scene as him not caring about SSY at all.
In the novel, SSY wasn’t unconscious either. After eating, he actually remembered what happened between him and HY, and instead of being indifferent, he blushed and felt embarrassed... They didn't include that part in the series.
