can someone tell me the reason why hwajeong actually broke up with yeongguk? i know it showed around ep 12 I think…
He wasnt married to her because of love. She saw him care about her father and decided to Marry him and took care of him like crazy, but he never actually acted like he loved her. And finally she heard the conversation he had at the Caffe saying how marriage wasn't about love and the next day the sock thing just triggered everything.
I care a lot about the ending, and Im reading different opinions about it here. Can somebody spoilertag me about the leads that end up together? Was there some other pairing making more sense and they switched it at the end? Or what is the controversy I read? I would hate seeing a couple making sense during the show for them to change at the end.
I see, thanks for the explanation. I'm glad it wasn't true, but honestly I don't really mind. I know nothing about actors private live. I like or dislike their acting and that's all I care about :)
Finished it. Amazing FL, both the actress and the character. Loved her. Terrible ML. At least the character. Not sure about the actor because his character was so terrible and unlikeable that maybe it wasnt the actors fault. For me both leads have no chemistry at all, mostly because theres no reason she likes him besides them beeing friends 20 years ago. He has a sad uninterested face all the time, no remarkable qualities, avoids her all the time and doesnt even help her many times she would have needed it. Show is worth mostly because FL is awesome. The story isnt great but good enough. ML makes it worse but well, still good. I give it an 82/100
4 episodes into it and.... does the ML start not being pathetic any time soon? I mean... something, anything. He doesnt need to be cool or something, but at least... I dont know, help her or do something... The only thing he does is look sad at everything and not help, not solve anything, nothing at all. WTF Most unlikeable "good" character Ive seen in a show.
While officially it would be called a happy ending. No, I dont call that a happy ending at all. SPOLER BELOW:
She dies, but the last minutes of the show show 400 years into the future how she is reincarnated (without memories ofc, its a new her) and he meets her as the credits roll. Thats just trying to cover it with a happy ending, but it isnt.
I am surprised that this show was a disappointment for me. And I say surprised because it had all the things it needs to have to be of my likeing. I liked the premise of it all, I liked the beginning, I liked most of the humor, and even the over the top scenes and effects. But the romance was a disappointment. I cant even say for sure why. It also had most of the things I like, a happy ending, some hurdles that werent too dramatic, some moments which tried to be satisfying (but somehow werent)....
Ive watched a ton of romances lately. Some I liked more and some less, but in 99% of them, the moments where they try to make a satisfying romance moment, be it the time where one of them realizes he likes the other, the confession, the first date, the make up after a hurdle... those moments always make me "feel warm" inside and be satisfied. Even in shows I dont like because of other motives. This show has those moments, or tries to, but somehow it doesnt manage to make me feel warm inside.
Im not sure why. A reason may be that she never really seems to like him or care about him at all. Sure, the script "makes her" a few times answer I love you too, or something similar. But those moments feel forced. They dont manage to make you really feel that she loves him. If they do something together its always because he almost forces her to. Even after they are together. The show never really shows how much she wants to be with him, its always him doing that. And most times in a pretty pathetic way. Overall, what needed to happen happened, but they didnt manage to make you feel awesome about it.
I still gave the show an 8. Like I said at the start, I liked the humor for the most part, the over the top moments, the acting, the visual effects. The story about her strength is cool, but the "thriller" part is pretty uninteresting.
Also, this show has many similarities to Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, but I loved that show, and the romance moments on that one, even when they took long to start, were awesome.
At Episode 2FL is a total bitch.....He saved her and that bitch didn't even thanked him....So happy she is still…
I just finished episode 2, and it doesnt look that bad. It really looks like she thought he pushed him. I mean, if she thought she was telling the truth, it's not that bad. Like I said, maybe they show more later that makes her look worse, but up to episode 2, she doesnt look so bad
Beautiful. Loved it. Enjoyed it a lot. It was hard to convince me to watch this show. Even when I started the first episode, after seeing the first scene, I paused it to think again if I should watch it. Why? Well because I couldnt care less about weightlifting. Why the hell would I watch a drama about a weightlifter. And indeed its a very important part of the show, not just a background. Well, if you are thinking the same, watch the show. It is amazing. It's not that it will make you like weightlifting, it's that it doesnt matter that you dont like it, you will love the show. The 3 last episodes may be the most satisfying of any kdrama romance Ive watched.
Like I said above, I loved the show. But there is one thing I think is pretty bad: the one sided "romance" with MLs brother lasted far far far too long. The idea is good, but come on, it lasted until like episode 11 of 16. WTF totally over the board. Should have lasted less than half the episodes it did. I dont mean I wanted the show to be shorter. But they could have added something else and made that semi-romance a lot shorter
I enjoyed City Hunter, I dont regret watching it. But up to episode 14 I was going to give it a 9 and after finishing it I gave it an 8. And it's not a bad ending, just... unsatisfying.
I would hate seeing a couple making sense during the show for them to change at the end.
To anybody discouraged because there's a love triangle (I hate them), just dont worry, it never gets important.
