Since there are possibilities that the drama ends next week (with the fast track) - I decided to continue with ep 20 today and OMG!!!
Now I realized why there were lots of comments about wanting to slap, 'cursed' Gao (lol). He was so pretentious - that 'innocent' look when he 'innocently' blamed FZJ for changing LX's sister's hotel. He deliberately provoked LX. That son of a *&%#@ LOL.
And the mom... now i understand why there were also lots of 'angry' comments about her. I thought 'how bad could it be' since this 'Parent didn't approve of their children's relationship' plot is nothing new. Then, I saw ep 20-21 and Argh!!! She's 'good'... She even said to ZY 'Can't you see he (LX) is making us fight each other' - and she said it in a soft, rational tone. The impact would have been different if she had said it in an angry voice.
And during the family meeting at ZY's house, how could LX did that to ZY. She thought that LX was trying to make amends with her family so they could be free with their relationship but instead, everything went south. I get it that it was actually LX's plan to get her away from him but still... that was brutal to ZY. The hurt that she felt....
In conclusion: all the actors really acted their best in bringing out their characters. Each one of them successfully invoked all the necessary emotions that they want from the viewers (at least it did for me). LOL.
I actually enjoyed the first half of drama because I felt they both have enough chemistry to pull it off. Then…
Exactly!!! Lol. I actually had similar though but was too frustrated ‘to type it’ lol. And yes, all are good actors - just that the last few eps, I didn’t feel like they were ‘into it’ anymore.
A bit disappointed with the ending because of the execution, editing and the awkwardness of FL/ML towards the last few minutes - specifically when FL pretended to be sick at the hospital. Somehow, the chemistry was gone - and it truly felt like they were 'acting' LOL. Earlier episodes, the chemistry was not too bad but towards the end, seems like everybody were acting just for the sake of finishing the drama (if I make any sense LOL).
I was a bit surprised by myself that throughout the drama, I could still restrain myself not to fast fwd but surprisingly, I did it at the last 2 episodes just for the sake of finishing the drama LOL. Because i just can't bear to watch it as it seems even the actors are no longer invested in 'bringing out' their characters alive. (note: based on my personal opinion, of course lol)
i don’t know how you think it as draggy..bt to me,its pace is great..they even Don't hold the misunderstanding…
I haven’t watch it. I stopped at ep19 waiting for at least up to ep where they are getting back together- trying to avoid the ‘waiting’ time lol. Then i saw few comments saying its a bit draggy now (was so ‘scared’ lol). With your comment- feel relieved now. Will wait for next week before i bring in my popcorn then LOL. Thx
i thought they are back as a couple as at ep27 but now it seems it could be as late as ep 30-ish…? (Though it made more sense since there’s about 9 more eps to go lol)
Sigh… I was trying very hard not to watch ep 20 onward coz i know they’re gonna fight and i thought they’ll be back together at ep27 - cause I cant bear to wait for days before i could actually ‘watch’ them as a couple again lol.
And few comments made it sound that the drama is getting draggy now…? I might as well dive back in and see it for myself before the momentum is off (for me of course) 😂.
Purely for the sake of discussion LOL because I just finished the wedding scene where FE is in the hospital. I…
Never really thought too much about it...
But if she's the SFL, (as at ep 17) similar comment as in I think she should dump him and move on. If either of them are the Second Leads, I think their story would've ended when they broke up.
As Leads, the story plot is necessary where the turning point would be ML chasing the FL.
I've catch up to ep 32 now and the story plot for the Leads were as 'predicted'. I'm actually finding FE's story is more interesting - as they've turned her character around and IMO, she's actually the stronger one - wanting to start a new life after all she's done and been through. And I liked how they portrayed ZM - a villain through and through LOL
I have two rhetorical questions. 1. Given all the conditions of ML here, how would you re-evaluate him? If he…
Purely for the sake of discussion LOL because I just finished the wedding scene where FE is in the hospital. I was finally happy that FE gave the ultimatum to ML about moving back to Wusu.
IMO: FL did fight for ML - that's why she's willing to be the bridesmaid knowing FE is trying to get the ML back (implied - keep your friend close, keep your enemy closer LOL) . She fought to bury her pain in so many situations because she truly loves ML: when she saw what ML's wrote in the capsule, when FE asked for the re-enactment of high school graduation photo shoot (burying her trauma of the actual day), when FE texted about ML getting drunk because people are saying ML was in deep love with FE, when ML went to FE 'immediately' to fix the piano when FE called (in a middle of a date), moved to Hepu for him etc... Even though or maybe because she knew all these were part of ML's business strategy, she stayed and she fought for her man (by burying her pain). Yes, she trust ML but in the actual situations, in the actual moment - it still hurts.
And whenever ML did 'something' that makes FL's unhappy (regardless of what it is) - ML will apologize to FL and then their back to their happy moments. As at ep 17, a new video about ML and FE came out - I guessed FL's has had enough and decided to go back to Wusu. If not, the cycle continues where ML explained about the video then FL will have to forgive him because he loves him.
And back to your rhetorical Q - if ML is the SML - we (at least me lol) would have wanted FL to dump him. LMAO
I'm only at ep 12 - trying to get my mind off L&P LOL. I watched this drama when I stumbled on few clips in YouTube and when I get to this page, the drama intrigues me more with all the comments and healthy 'debate'.
I don't want to change anyone's opinion but want to put in my 2 cents. The drama has its flaw, but each character…
‘We as audience are given access to see their inner thoughts with each revelation. Even if we disagree with their choices, we can understand their decisions. ‘
Its funny to see how we are all in this together! everyone was so happy with their fluff romance and flirts, now…
so true… imo, the drama became much more interesting because there were and still are (obviously) so many comments. And even though i haven’t caught up to ep 20 (purposely of course) - i know what its all about and kinda prepare myself when i do get to watch it. ‘Reading’ the heart wrenching moments doesn’t hurt as much as ‘watching’ it - I’ll only watch it once the reconciliation eps are available bc the wait is too much to bear. LOL
yes,its kind of cliche!but he has no other way!because she loves him too much..
I’m not sure if I’m interpreting your comment correctly but if what you meant was:
“Yes, it IS a cliche in a drama that you have to push the FL away because the ML is actually ‘protecting’ her - but, there are so many other ways to do it rather than hurting the FL emotionally’” If this is what you meant, then I’m with you on this.
There are other ways to do it - how about The Truth. Tell FL that he’s going to jail and maybe his life would be different afterward and FL should also give herself a chance and try to find new ‘life’ abroad. Afterward, if both of them still love each other the same way - there’ll be no regrets and their relationship would be stronger.
Breaking up through ‘tricks’ only hurt each other and a bit unfair especially to the FL because she did not get to decide her own fate.
Disclaimer: These comments are made based on my personal opinion for most of the cliche plot of dramas when it comes to ‘break-ups’. It does not in any way reflects what I think about this drama specifically because, for whatever reasons, whatever ways they broke up - i just wanna see they get back together. LOL
The comments alone is already too heartbreaking for me to handle😭
So, did you watch the eps yet? I still can’t make myself to do it and after reading the comments- i think i did the right thing lol. I know i will not be able to ‘survive’ the weekend if i did 😅

Well said 👍
‘She’s soft but strong’ 👏
