Just curious, which countries are that? According to my understanding barring some primitives cultures each and every culture has some concept of commitment like marriage. And breaking this commitment is regarded wrong.
I thought it was some fantasy serial where ML had magical powers. I almost dropped it in the middle of first episode. Glad I didn't. It was my second drama 2 years back. Now, I've watched 150+ of them. Thanks Goblin makers.
The ahjumma who is playing Ma Tan's mom is one of the funniest character in this show. These 2 dialogues in of itself don't excite much. But, the way she delivered them was outstanding.

Yeah, high ratings are mostly because of popularity of ML (disclaimer: I also think ML is a great actor). Most won't accept this opinion even if they feel it.
