It wasn't very surprising on FL's part. She considered ML to be the character in the book referenced during the show - Room 21. She knew ML wouldn't come out of the Room 21 easily, hence the slight manipulation.

It's NOT always disrespectful or inappropriate to call someone "monstrous". It's a trait like handsome, beautiful etc. A lion wouldn't mind being called monstrous. In fact he will appreciate it. @Feng lee only expressed his/her opinion in a respectful way.

It's a good thing this drama is doing good. And I'm a huge fan of NGM. The problem with this and last 2 of his dramas (Awaken, The Veil) is him being shown as larger than life.

The problem with this concept is weaker world-building which makes drama shallow in some way. One more similar drama victim to this phenomenon was Again my Life.
