I don’t know how can anyone like this it’s so cringy i mean as an anime it’s different i watched it and…
Ooo disagree. This is my favorite version. Joe Cheng is by far, my favorite version of this male lead too. I like season 2 even better too, because I feel like to see more about how the male lead feels.
It is just you. lol. It is NOT that they are mediocre, just that you are probably not watching the appropriate…
Someone does sound butthurt however that is not me. Critiques are done by people who know what they are talking about. I don’t feel superior but I am passionate about Asian dramas and have watched enough to know a thing or two about them, like ‘Most’ are not mediocre or overrated... and they do not ‘typically’ drag and get boring. I suggested that you were just not watching the right genre for you but you wanted to argue that most people find kdramas boring. That is not only just ridiculous but does make it clear you are here to hate and not give legitimate critique.
It is just you. lol. It is NOT that they are mediocre, just that you are probably not watching the appropriate…
You haven't even completed a single kdrama yet and you think you know what is 'most' or 'typical'? As someone that has not even completed a single drama, you do not even count as a newbie yet. You have no idea what is mediocre or overrated, if you don't even know what kdramas are about yet. How do you know that the people who are saying it dragged or was boring know what they are talking about? The best drama is the world will still have a few haters. The problem is that a lot of people want to start watching Kdramas because it is popular, and then do not like it because it not enough like Western tv, or they may have issues with the social culture of that country, that come out in the drama. If you hate everything about Kdramas that make them unique from other countries' dramas, then it is obvious, they are just not for you. The popularity of Korean dramas has risen because there are millions of people around the world who do get them and do appreciate everything that makes them unique. Go back to watching American tv, Japanese tv, Anime or whatever it was you were watching before.
Some complain that Tong Nian is a stalker causing them to not like her or want to watch this drama anymore, but…
It is a super cute drama and worth the watch, but there is no doubt, Tong Nian initial did stalk him a little. Stalking behavior: Lied to get him to give his (?) account, then change the name of her account to the internet cafe to find out when he would return to the cafe and chat with him. When he didn't, she sent dozens of fake sales ads and told him he won a fake contest to try to get him respond or come back the the internet cafe. When that did not work, she used his screen name acquired by her cousin/friend from the security cam footage, to approach him in the online game he had been playing. Then, when she saw him at the airport, she did some detective work to find out where he would be and she went there to try to see him. After he sent her off from that misunderstanding, she went out to the next event too, to see if she could see him.
I'm new to K-drama so excuse me if I come off as someone hating on K-drama but is it me or are most K-dramas just…
It is just you. lol. It is NOT that they are mediocre, just that you are probably not watching the appropriate genre for your taste, and or watching a family oriented program. "Even genres like supernatural horror like this one which have no need for romance have romance in them" - Although, the Channel that produced the drama and the time slot they are in can be a factor, in general, kdramas are known for mixing genres and giving you a little bit of everything in every drama. It was quite a shock to me, at first, but I have come to appreciate it. You get more of a full experience, seeing parts of Korean culture and society that you would not if it stuck strictly to one genre. I am someone that loves adorable romance and sci-fi and fantasy, and never chooses to watch something sad, if I can help it(I think I get plenty of reality in my real life). The first few times I watched a romantic comedy and a family member died, I was an emotional wreck. In American romcoms, people do not die. I kept expecting to find out the person faked the death as a joke or they would be saved in the last second or the diagnosis was a mistake..... but nope. My husband came home to me sobbing unattractively in front of the tv more than once, during those first few shows. Once I knew to expect it, it wasn't so bad. Other interesting things, I have seen a ghost possession in a melodrama. It was kind of out of the blue and had nothing to do with the plot, but to be fair, it was around the time of the hungry ghost festival. Comedy and romance being mixed with Sci-fi and fantasy is pretty common. I don't really consider this drama horror, but "fantasy" instead. Same with Lovely Horribly and the Master's Sun. Those are more Fantasy Romance, even though they all have moments that are pretty scary. "And most K-dramas start strong but tend to get boring or mediocre. I think the 16-32 episode format has something to do with this since writers just fill the show with fillers to somehow make the show16-32 episodes long which leads to pacing issues and makes the show drag on. This is a classic case of quantity over quality" - I disagree. I don't think they typically drag. There are some amazing writers that have no trouble planning enough excitement for every episode. I think the issues usually arise when a drama is extended or shortened on short notice. Kdramas often have writing and rewriting being done as the show airs. Filming wise, I think they are only a week or two ahead of the air date. Sometimes something happens to the drama that was planned for the next slot, and they find later that they need to stretch the drama a week or two until the next drama is ready to start airing... When that happens, it is normal to notice some drag, since 2 episodes just became 4 episodes or more... My advice on that is to look for info that suggests the drama was extended and be prepared to do some fast forwarding during those episodes. When you compare Kdramas to Japanese dramas and Taiwanese/Chinese dramas, Kdramas are really the happy medium. Jdramas are typically 12-ish episodes. Kdramas are usually 16-20. C-dramas are usually 22-35 ep... The longer dramas are even worse when they get extended because I have seen a 100 ep. drama get extended to a 120 ep. drama. Try getting an extra 20 episodes, last minute, out of a story that was already 80% aired "If you know any mature dramas which are not filled with that lovey-dubby romance" hahahaha, you clearly look down on happy romance, but it's inclusion does not make a drama immature nor does it's exclusion make a drama "mature". Channel and time slot are a real factor. The public channels and especially during hours that one would expect children to be at home, will not have many "adult" situations or scary stuff, if that is what you are talking about. TVN, which is a cable station, tends to have more edgy stuff, sometimes. In fact, look for dramas that have aired/are airing on cable stations and probably stay away from the public station productions unless someone specifically recommends them to you. Here is a link to the wiki page for South Korean tv stations - so you will know which stations to look for. Good Luck. https://www.koreandrama.org/whats-showing-now/ - This site will show you the time slot a show is airing in... http://asianwiki.com/Main_Page - this site will tell you what show aired before it in that time slot and what show will take it's place(when that is already decided)
It's been a good while since I watched this. Imo, you really find out if a drama was good, if you can rewatch and enjoy as much if not more than the first time through. I gave it an enthusiastic 9 the first time through. Starting to rewatch today.
Just finished it. Anyone watched the special? I watched the series on netflix and I don't see it there. I tend to like romantic comedy, so serious romantic drama already has a strike against it. Romantically I could tell where the story was leading, but I was still rooting for something else, which left me a little unsatisfied at the end. Still, it was worth the watch, just see the relationships between the 4 roommates. How they supported each other, and sometimes tried to knock some sense into each other was heartwarming.
The flashbacks drive me crazy... I’m not here for all this I just want the romance!
Same, so I started to read the web novel... (link is posted below). I will probably go back and read the other web novels that contain the flash back/solo team storylines too though after finishing the stewed squid ???? with honey ????.
The leading man, seems so familiar to me, but I am not sure why. I looked at the list of dramas he has been in, and I haven't watched any of those. Maybe it is his style, and he is just reminding me of another actor? Either way I am already in love with his character. I love the way he struts on by someone looking angry. Very Rockstar.
For me, it wasn't a matter of bad acting. He's portraying a delinquent character of sort. Young, idealism still…
You are way off base. His character is nothing like what you describe and nothing like Baek In Ho. It isn't another facet of his personality you see in the second ep. but a different facet of the story that makes you understand his actions. I won't say more, because I don't want to spoil it...
This is not my usual genre, but on a whim, I clicked on it last night, to give it a 5 min trial. I watched straight through both episodes 1 and 2. Very interesting dynamic. I find all of the characters interesting. I am going to stick with it for now.
