Person Xing En
How could anyone NOT know she was a woman? She looks like one even in men's clothes. She looked familiar so I…
I have gone back and forth thinking the actor is a female and thinking eh, maybe it is a guy... I had to look it up to see if the actor was female or male. She is at least androgynous enough that I was not sure. So I would say she is pulling it off.
... I have seen a lot of women dressing as men in dramas, and this is the first time I wasn't immediately sure that it was a girl.

Wow, reading through the comments, so much hate for this drama.... I'm only on ep 4, and I'm already loving this!…
If you eliminate the people complaining about it being slow... because they just don't like slice of life style dramas. (That happens. Some people are only into dramas that cliffhanger every episode and have constant action. Not everyone can watch every genre and judge it fairly)Then eliminate all the people complaining about the leads because they started watching as fans of the actors playing the second leads. (Fangirls/boys are biased and unreasonable by design). Eliminate people that do not like aspects that are historically and period accurate/specific because they do like period pieces/ancient Chinese culture/political /feminist. You are mostly left with comments praising this drama, so far. I haven't read through all of the comments, but I don't think I have seen any saying the acting, writing, or anything about the production quality being bad. ... In the end, all that really matters is if you love it yourself. If you love it, watch it and comment on what you love about it.
IMO: There are plenty of great dramas in every genre to watch. Life is too short to spend hours watching or commenting on a drama you are not enjoying.

Title The Story of Ming Lan Spoiler
In ep 23, In the conversation between Ming Lan and Gu Ting Ye. He talks about marriage did he propose or talk…
I was wondering the same thing too, if he was not hinting he could be a second option? But he is good friends with that guy so... I wasn’t sure. He may have still been think of her as a younger sister type, at this point.

Title The Story of Ming Lan Spoiler
Although ep 19 and 20 were really sad for male lead. I enjoyed it since he has come out of the shell it's time…
I thought that argument they had was pretty cute. He threatened to ask for her in marriage and she said she would become various types of nuns or work a farm before choosing to enter a marriage with him. lol.

Omg, what about this cliffhanger at the end of ep. 22. I will definitely not be waiting for subs to watch ep. 23
Really wish I could find this novel translated somewhere. The furthest I have found is chapter 25... and the events in that chapter have already happened in the drama.

Good Call. I do know they commonly dub Cdramas, but I didn't realize that one had been dubbed. I did look up some youtube videos of him singing and talking... seems like he might have a little deeper voice than I thought. There is some hope..

Anyone know if it's official about Dylan Wang taking over Ning Que's role? Is he any good at acting?Edit: damn,…
I am curious if it is just a rumor or if it has been confirmed also. Even if the actor is amazing, it is hard to come in and take a role that was previously filled by someone that was well liked.
I did watch the new Meteor Garden with Dylan Wang. It is kind of unfair to say Dylan Wang would be a bad NQ based on his role in MG because it is such a different character and such a different type of drama. The character he is playing is supposed to be a little goofy, so if he comes off goofy, it is hard to say if he would come off that way no matter what role he is in or if he was delivering what the director asked for. There were moments in MG that I was personally impressed by DW because I believed the emotion. My concerns are more about his appearance and his voice. I think he is noticably more slender than AC and I think his voice isn't as deep/more nasal.
- that said, the no. 1 complaint about season 1 was the "lack of chemistry" that NQ had with SS. If whomever the replacement is can deliver believable on screen chemistry between NQ and SS, it would go a long way in convincing fans to accept the new actor.

Lmao people voting are probably mostly ashes of love fans ???? ???? I mean it's literally ridiculous for Ashes…
Yes. Wow. Is Deng Lun really that popular? I did notice that he was cast in a couple dramas one after another. I watched Ashes of Love and it was good, but didn't expect them to get soooo many votes.

I'm low key surprised by the underwhelming amount of votes for The Rise of the Phoenixes? anyone agree?
Totally agree. I think the lead male character was so magnetic. The story stayed interesting. I do wish it had ended better but it was still an amazing production.

I Need Romance 1, 2, and 3 are Sex-in-the-city-like. If you really want to see something like sex in the city and haven't watched the I Need Romance dramas I recommend them... The 2nd was my least fav. and it had kind of a melancholy, but the 1st and the 3rd are pretty good.
A spot on remake I would like to see is Gossip Girl. And please don't tell me Heirs is like Gossip Girl, because imo, it is not close enough.

Title Ever Night Spoiler
This story did not occur in ancient China, and their world is not earth. We can gain some interesting insights…
A harem for NQ in this story makes zero sense. The whole point is that he and SangSang are born to be on opposite sides, but their strong love for each other will keep them from being enemies. The other ladies are likely there to show in comparison how important Sang Sang is to him. Plus, They have always been together, their relationship has not turn romantic yet. The other girls will likely be used as a catalyst to reveal NQ & SS’s true feelings for each other.
