Title Ever Night Spoiler
Am I the only one who disliked the way, Long Qing got treated at the banquet in eps. 18/19?
Yes and No. In the beginning, I thought they are a bit harsh. However, there were catty remarks coming from both sides. LQ's side was doing most of the provoking. Here is my take on why NQ did what he did: I think NQ only stood up, after the priest suggested it was rude of the princess to mention SS in the same sentence as LQ. LQ did not disagree, having declined to even respond to the princess' challenge to match drink for drink with SS. Earlier he said "people who are good at battle are worthy to battle with and people who are good at drinking are worthy to drink with. Since we don't have a war and we have nothing to drink for..." Him ignoring it is the same as him insulting SS. I get that there are class distinctions and this may have seemed like a slight by the princess in LQ's perspective. Still, it is clear, despite him calling SS his maid, that NQ doesn't really think of her as a maid nor does he care about the established class system. NQ gives respect to people that earn it, not people who just talk about how fancy and better than everyone they are. Then to top it off, the priest tells him that it would be an honor for him to give SS to LQ. There is also no way that he would ever let anyone take SS away from him. It is clearly a power move to make him realize he is beneath them and they can take anything he values from him. NQ can not just refuse and then go about his day. Since politics are involved here, just saying no would never have been enough to shut LQ down. He had to make him too embarrassed to try to take SS later. Since our guy is always up for a challenge and is not the kind to kneel to anyone, he goes head on and lets LQ know where he stands on this issue.

happy ending?!?!?
Ditto. I would like to know if it is a happy ending? What I mean by happy is: Not tragic (tragic would be the main character dying, the love interest of the main character dying, or anyone else that the audience would be emotionally invested in dying.) Would also like to know if the romance specifically has a happy ending?

Did anyone else notice that our girl Sang Sang's got a slice of pepperoni pizza in her hand in ep 18?
I did notice the pizza but didn't notice the logo on the uniforms in the other comments. I happen to love the Chinese dramas do product placement. I find it funny.

Tbh, idk if I like Ning Que as a character or not and I can't tell if it's because of Arthur Chen's portrayal…
I don't hate it. At first, I thought it seemed odd, with such a young man acting like this, but then I realized that, from a young age, he was with soldiers that he would not have been able to show emotion in front of. It would be natural for him to mimic the behavior he saw, so he would fit in with them. He had a small child he was also responsible for, that he would not have wanted to show any fear in front of. At the very least, he would have been used to putting up a front/had a good poker face. Plus, he was already a legendary figure known as the Wood Cutter of Shobu lake. He has personally killed hundreds without hesitation and is feared. He would be very confident in his skills. He is handsome, so he would be confident that the ladies would like him. If he was more tender and less full of himself, I don't think it would be believable that he lived the life that he has supposedly lived. I wondered about the maid thing too. I thought there must be a reason that would reveal itself later. He was the son of a well to do family before everyone was slaughtered, so maybe Young Master is something he was called before... Even though she does all the chores and he calls her his little maid, he says it in an endearing way. It is clear that he cares about her like family. I thought maybe that is just what they told others that would make people not question their lifestyle/arrangement. Also, maybe it was the best way he knew how to get her to follow his instructions. (I know when I babysat my niece and nephew, I told whatever crazy lie I had to, just to get them to just eat their vegetables, to not run in the street, and go to bed on time.)

I just picked this up because it had been recommended by another viewer who knew I enjoyed Fights Break Sphere. I have marathoned up to ep. 13 and I am loving it. The production quality is much better than FBS, at least, so far. I like the relationships/interaction between the characters better too. I am really rooting for him to have some kind of power and show all these naysayers that have been telling him he can not cultivate.
On The Rise of Phoenixes Nov 17, 2018
I finished it. Really enjoyed the interesting characters. The last bit of the drama increasingly had the lead actress making odd choices. I was dissatisfied with the end for some characters but liked how it ended for others. Wish I was in the room for the finale ending to argue about how they would leave some characters. Argh. Still, I think it was worth watching!

Hello, are you counting the kisses? Haha
Lol. I have been complaining that the romantic storyline has been moving too slowly, so I am celebrating that something has finally happened!

Second lead syndrome here.. Pls someone spoil me, actually LanZhi likes YuanAn or MingHui? I know based on MV,…
I don't know. I am speculating it will be to protect her. I think he does like/is interested in Yuan'an romantically, but he doesn't seem very passionate about her. I think he will fall for Ming Hui. Yuan'an seems to have feelings for Lan Zhi, but it is really hard to tell how far gone she is, because she is pretty protective of everyone in her circle.

Thanks. Good to know. I am looking forward to it. I agree. I love Janice Wu, but I have been all about Zheng Ye Cheng in this drama.

I'm glad of this. I wish I had spent more time watching dramas on DramaFever while I still had it. My frustration…
Agree about Japanese dramas. I hate that there are very few new Japanese dramas and movies offered on legal sites.

I have watched a fair few of 50 and over episode dramas. Even for this length drama, I still feel like the relationships are moving very slowly. Especially in relation to the progress that you see in the Nine beads story line. I am really rooting for a particular pairing, so I would like to see it start heading there.
On An Oriental Odyssey Nov 4, 2018
I don't mind the investigations/divine bead stuff, but I really wish more was happening with these relationships. 18 ep. in and she still just has a crush on Zhao Lan Zhi and she is still treating our adorable Mu Le as a servant. I really hope something happens soon, even if it between her and Zhao Lan Zhi. It feels like the relationships are still in the same place they have been. She is learning to trust ML a little more, but she still wants him to call her Master/Miss. She is still enamored but at the same time annoyed with the rule following cautious ZLZ. I keep looking forward to the next episodes, but feel like hardly anything new happened after them.

It is hard to say. Is Tvn a station that plays edgier dramas? If it is playing prime time on a reg channel, I think they will go with non-biological siblings... something like, The father may have put one of them on the family register but in reality they were not biological siblings... There is an angel in his drawing, is this something from the original version?

Oh No. I watched episode 10, but stopped right after she told him she knew she wasn't the cop's real sister. I was so traumatized thinking they might be siblings, I forgot to go back and watch the last 7 minutes.

Episode 10 is the episode that made me start thinking they were siblings. I came over here to see if they were siblings in the original? I am hoping they are not....

wait. What did I miss? I don't remember them sleeping together. I know they kissed, but did she leave right after? Then she came in while he was sleeping, but that was in the morning.

I really enjoyed it, despite some of the very cheesy monsters and special effects. The actors were great. The music was on point. Great ending. This is listed as Season 1. Anyone know if there is a season 2 happening? If it is , crossing my fingers that all the lead actors reprise their roles.

I am watching on On Demand Korea, but there are no subs and I do not understand enough Korean to totally know what is going on.

In Episode 7: Can someone tell me what he said the pissed her off after the kiss and then at the interview? why he poured the wine on the table? what did he say to his sister have the wine incident? What did they say right before the kiss at the end of the episode? Did they officially break up to start secretly dating for real?
