I think this slowly but surely is becoming my favourite drama after Nirvana in Fire. So far I have no single complain,…
People keep referencing NiF as their fav. I know it has more than one season, does the original have a true ending point or does it feel like there is too many things to tie up ... with so many positive comments, i think I need to give it a shot.

I am not saying SWL was terrible. I'm not sure how to say this. He was a little too subdued. Not sure if I could believe him as the Woodcutter of whatever the name was lake. I could believe Dylan as the Woodcutter based on his performance in MG. On the flip side of that, I am not sure if he could come across as likable as CFY does while chopping peoples heads off though. It would be hard to say if I would like his look for it, until I see him with long hair. If he does get the role, I hope they ask him to bulk up for the part.

I love Dylan Wang. I think he has a great on screen presence but he has such a slender build. Not sure if I like him for that role. Leo Wu is adorable and charismatic but I am afraid he might not come off serious enough. Based on Song Wei Long's character in UL, I don't think he would be my first choice for Ning Que.

I can't speak for others, so this is my personal opinion. Let me say in the beginning that I'd also still watch…
What? Why is he leaving? Just when I decided I liked him in the role. That sucks. Will there be a part 2? If so, will they be able to find anyone that will be able to pull the role off after everyone is already used to that guy? I have seen actors pull off coming in as the replacement, but it is rare and it is usually only successful when the replacement has star power to begin with.

Am I the only one who disliked the way, Long Qing got treated at the banquet in eps. 18/19?
Yes and No. In the beginning, I thought they are a bit harsh. However, there were catty remarks coming from both sides. LQ's side was doing most of the provoking. Here is my take on why NQ did what he did: I think NQ only stood up, after the priest suggested it was rude of the princess to mention SS in the same sentence as LQ. LQ did not disagree, having declined to even respond to the princess' challenge to match drink for drink with SS. Earlier he said "people who are good at battle are worthy to battle with and people who are good at drinking are worthy to drink with. Since we don't have a war and we have nothing to drink for..." Him ignoring it is the same as him insulting SS. I get that there are class distinctions and this may have seemed like a slight by the princess in LQ's perspective. Still, it is clear, despite him calling SS his maid, that NQ doesn't really think of her as a maid nor does he care about the established class system. NQ gives respect to people that earn it, not people who just talk about how fancy and better than everyone they are. Then to top it off, the priest tells him that it would be an honor for him to give SS to LQ. There is also no way that he would ever let anyone take SS away from him. It is clearly a power move to make him realize he is beneath them and they can take anything he values from him. NQ can not just refuse and then go about his day. Since politics are involved here, just saying no would never have been enough to shut LQ down. He had to make him too embarrassed to try to take SS later. Since our guy is always up for a challenge and is not the kind to kneel to anyone, he goes head on and lets LQ know where he stands on this issue.

happy ending?!?!?
Ditto. I would like to know if it is a happy ending? What I mean by happy is: Not tragic (tragic would be the main character dying, the love interest of the main character dying, or anyone else that the audience would be emotionally invested in dying.) Would also like to know if the romance specifically has a happy ending?

Did anyone else notice that our girl Sang Sang's got a slice of pepperoni pizza in her hand in ep 18?
I did notice the pizza but didn't notice the logo on the uniforms in the other comments. I happen to love the Chinese dramas do product placement. I find it funny.

Tbh, idk if I like Ning Que as a character or not and I can't tell if it's because of Arthur Chen's portrayal…
I don't hate it. At first, I thought it seemed odd, with such a young man acting like this, but then I realized that, from a young age, he was with soldiers that he would not have been able to show emotion in front of. It would be natural for him to mimic the behavior he saw, so he would fit in with them. He had a small child he was also responsible for, that he would not have wanted to show any fear in front of. At the very least, he would have been used to putting up a front/had a good poker face. Plus, he was already a legendary figure known as the Wood Cutter of Shobu lake. He has personally killed hundreds without hesitation and is feared. He would be very confident in his skills. He is handsome, so he would be confident that the ladies would like him. If he was more tender and less full of himself, I don't think it would be believable that he lived the life that he has supposedly lived. I wondered about the maid thing too. I thought there must be a reason that would reveal itself later. He was the son of a well to do family before everyone was slaughtered, so maybe Young Master is something he was called before... Even though she does all the chores and he calls her his little maid, he says it in an endearing way. It is clear that he cares about her like family. I thought maybe that is just what they told others that would make people not question their lifestyle/arrangement. Also, maybe it was the best way he knew how to get her to follow his instructions. (I know when I babysat my niece and nephew, I told whatever crazy lie I had to, just to get them to just eat their vegetables, to not run in the street, and go to bed on time.)

I just picked this up because it had been recommended by another viewer who knew I enjoyed Fights Break Sphere. I have marathoned up to ep. 13 and I am loving it. The production quality is much better than FBS, at least, so far. I like the relationships/interaction between the characters better too. I am really rooting for him to have some kind of power and show all these naysayers that have been telling him he can not cultivate.

I finished it. Really enjoyed the interesting characters. The last bit of the drama increasingly had the lead actress making odd choices. I was dissatisfied with the end for some characters but liked how it ended for others. Wish I was in the room for the finale ending to argue about how they would leave some characters. Argh. Still, I think it was worth watching!

Hello, are you counting the kisses? Haha
Lol. I have been complaining that the romantic storyline has been moving too slowly, so I am celebrating that something has finally happened!

Second lead syndrome here.. Pls someone spoil me, actually LanZhi likes YuanAn or MingHui? I know based on MV,…
I don't know. I am speculating it will be to protect her. I think he does like/is interested in Yuan'an romantically, but he doesn't seem very passionate about her. I think he will fall for Ming Hui. Yuan'an seems to have feelings for Lan Zhi, but it is really hard to tell how far gone she is, because she is pretty protective of everyone in her circle.
