Oooh I will not be watching Goodbye My Princess. As a rule, I don't watch anything tagged Tragedy or Tearjerker. I kind of feel like I am taking a chance with this one tagged Wuxia because, in that genre, lead character deaths are pretty common. I will take a peek at a few episodes of GMP though, so I can see an example of good cgi, make up and dubbing. If you check out my custom lists, you will probably laugh for having recommended a tragedy to me. If you do give my lists a look, warning: Since it seems to be important to you. Bad Cgi and makeup do not = a bad score from me. Bad dubbing will sometimes bother me, but I often just adjust to it after a couple ep. and in the end, the only thing that actually effects the score I give is the characters and story.
I only just started this drama. First impression, I like it better than "The Destiny of White Snake" in terms…
The only thing I noticed cheesy, in this one, is the sick makeup...and even that didn't even make me cringe because I have seen so much worse. lol. I watch a lot of dramas and kind of expect stuff to be a bit ***, you know. This one, I thought was pretty decent in comparison to most. I am curious what Chinese weekly dramas are in your good column for Cgi, makeup, and dubbing?
It's not a historical drama, but go watch Autumn's Concerto. He plays the leading man and his charm comes through…
Thank you for the recommendation. It is so funny you recommended that drama today. It was just recommended to me today by 2 other people on a different forum. Definitely putting it on my plan to watch list. :)
NOOOOOOOO! It used to be available on Drama Fever, but now of course, drama fever is dead. And now, they have blocked it on youtube too. I am going to cry. Someone please let me know where I can buy an english subbed dvd or a site that now has the license to air this. Is there a way to find out who holds the license for a drama? It is pretty old, how much can the license to air it possibly be?
Can anyone tell me if there is a scene similar to the rooftop when jealous DMS punches the wall and tries to kiss Shancai, in the kdrama Boys over flowers version? I don't remember that happening in that one... but it has been several years since I watched it.
I am looking for this on a safe site with english subs. I watched it a little over a year ago on youtube but that has been removed for copyright.... by Channel3 that has it but it is without subs. Thanks
Thanks for the article. Thai Lakorns hardly get any attention. How many times have you thought “Ugh, great. Yet another rich man/poor woman/weak female lead/arrogant male lead”? Um, NEVER! I live for that! I find that I am getting increasingly dissatisfied with Kdramas because they are changing the winning formula that made them so popular to begin with, while trying to incorporate more global values... no wrist grabs(I miss these), more "strong" female lead characters that often come off as unfeeling, unyielding, unsympathetic, unlikable. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate strong female characters. It just feels a little to intentional. Like they are specifically having scripts written to fit this, not like these stories were originally inspired to be that...but I am getting off topic here. I, too have dropped a lot of kdramas lately. I have been thankful for Chinese dramas since the sudden disappearance of Dramafever, and honestly, a little before then. Ever Night and The Story of Ming Lan were both pretty epic. Watching two cute comedies at the moment: I Will Never Let You Go, and My Amazing Boyfriend 2. Like you, I hate tragic endings, so I never really watched historical kdramas to begin with. Unlike you, I prefer spoilers, so I can avoid those sad endings. I did go through a phase of watching Lakorns, maybe a year or two ago. Can't remember what I started with, but I definitely watched Kiss Me and Full House, early on. I am an Itazura Na Kiss super fan. I have watched and loved every version(except Miss in Kiss which was terrible), I could find.(My favorite version is the Taiwanese version It Started with a Kiss/They Kiss again, in case you are wondering. Kiss Me is up there, though. I loved how they changed/added the Thai culture details) I also happen to have loved the orignal version of Full House and I was not at all disappointed with the Thai remake. I am curious where you are watching them. I stopped watching Thai and Japanese dramas because I got a worm on my old laptop. I assume it came from one of those sketchy sites I was watching Thai and Japanese dramas on. Now I try to be happy with what I can find on youtube, and Viki. Please recommend a safe place to watch them, if there is one :) Fav. Thai Lakorns (in order of the ratings I gave them. 1 is highest rating )are: 1 Kiss Me Thailand 2015 10 2 Full House Thailand 2015 10 3 Padiwaradda 9.5 4 Cubic Thailand 9 5 Panyachon Kon Krua Thailand 2012 9 6 Ton Ruk Rim Rua Thailand 2013 8 7 Leh Ratree Thailand 2015 7.5
TL;NR if you watch it on viki (the 73 version), you don't miss anythingthere is supposed to be 3 versions:A) tv…
I am actually trying to build up a small library of dramas to watch when our wifi goes down (which is often). So far, I only have The Boss and Me(Chinese) and A Girl and Three Sweethearts(japanese). I chose both of those, just because they are not available to watch on any reputable sites(at the moment). It feels a little redundant paying for something that I can already watch anytime online. ... But this one I would probably buy despite that.
It was the last episode I think. Both MDL and Viki have updated it and show 73 episodes. Also, the way the episode…
Thank you. I agree, I also thought it seemed like an end. A combo of MDL saying there were more episodes and wishful thinking on my part, since I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters made me have to ask : ) I never could find an episode total, in the drama information, on Viki. Only their current episodes count, that changed daily.
