He's been in the industry for almost 20 years, yet only landed a few main roles?! This is almost criminal... he's quite a handsome and manly lad. Wishing him the best of luck!
These two have so much chemistry, I hope they can be recasted in a softer, cuter drama with a happier ending.…
Yes! Their chemistry is fire, I want more lovey-dovey scenes from them… imagine how amazing they would be in a cute romcom. Thing is, recasting as couple is very rare in Jdrama land (T^T)…
I feel Micchan's pain when he said there would be no two 'number ones' for him. For someone like Micchan, it must have been so difficult to open his heart to Koichi and be loved for who he is. What's so magical about Micchan and Koichi's relationship is how much they accept one another. My favorite scenes about them are in the first episode when Koichi suggests they eat lunch together in silence. Micchan is an extreme introvert who is also a little bit emotionally stunted by the lack of affection in his family. He wields up a shell and stays hidden within it until Koichi comes along, breaking down everything along the way. Those scenes of the two of them sitting side by side, just enjoying the company without words, are so powerful. For Micchan to lose Koichi like this must be so devastating. Episode 6 broke me... Micchan's grief is so palpable. Koichi's soul lingers because he knows how much pain Micchan will be in without him. Ahh, who is cutting the onions here *sighs*
I’m loving the color grading in this drama, it’s beautiful. Some shots at the beginning of ep 3 remind me of Wong Kar-Wai’s scenes. So far, this drama gives me a bit of melancholy, and plenty of nostalgia. All the young actors are absolutely adorable…
I’m intrigued and curious… so will there be a different case each episode? I had only seen the first episode, but the cast list shows different actors for different episode. First episode was fun. The two young actors have really good chemistry and that’s why I want to see more of them. Thanks so much to aoinousagi for the wonderful subs!
After watching 2 episodes of this drama, I realized how much I’m craving for some cheesy, cute and light romance in my watchlist, lol. It’s so satisfying to have a Jdrama that really focuses on romance without a lot of the overacting and cringy tropes. The two main leads really fit their roles. In short, I want more!
That was a perfect ending, no more, no less... I’m with the team that doesn’t mind the two leads not having a kiss or anything remotely intimate. At first glance, this drama seems all slapstick and silly, but the messages are strong and deep. It’s sincere and full of hearts. It managed to make me shed a few tears here and there and it’s a freaking comedy first and foremost. I would say, this drama depicts a ‘finding yourself’ type of story with some BL elements thrown in very well. One of my fav BLs from Japan for sure.
Finished episode 3, and this drama continues to be very fun! It's like reading a sports manga, seeing characters hyping up and overcoming challenges is super satisfying. That cliffhanger is crazy. I wonder who could have done that to the boys.
Exactly! Tsumugi's love for Minato VS Tsumugi's love for Sou doesn't have to be compared, and it's not fair to…
I get what you mean. That line of dialogue sure was disconcerting. I was like... oh, so there was veerrrry little sexual attraction between you two huh. I can imagine the two of them settling in together and some time down the line, just living like two roommates.
Exactly! Tsumugi's love for Minato VS Tsumugi's love for Sou doesn't have to be compared, and it's not fair to…
Ditto on that! As social creatures, we tend to quantify and compare many things, love included. But we can love different things for different reasons and at different rates, as you said. The issues between Minato and Tsumugi lay in their lack of communication. Minato went into the relationship in fear, which of course would never end well. He let his perceived inadequacy grows in his heart the entire time they were together and stayed in the relationship with the mindset that he didn't deserve Tsumugi. His self-fulfilling prophecy came true. For Tsumugi, this relationship was easy; she was never challenged. Therefore, she took Minato for granted, and never had the chance to really 'fall in love' with Minato, if you know what I mean. In a sense, she was served the 'relationship'... They are both nice people and would not hurt the other, but who knows about many years in the future, would that kind of relationship survive external temptations? If not Sou of now, there could still be potential new threats as long as they both do not resolve their issues.
Yamazaki Kento's features are out of this world *o*The drama is great and I had a great time watching the first…
Lol, I hear ya. I wasn't impressed with his look when I first saw him in Alice in Borderland, but subsequent views of him in other dramas changed my mind. He is indeed very lovely to look at (I love him in the long hair!) He actually suits the bad boy/rebellious image really well.
This will be a fun ride! I can't wait :D
