Yasss. I see the comments and I'm like this is so relatable. Yes it's can be infuriating/some said fake, but no it's exactly how you said it. And I feel like when it comes to parenting one parent has to be the bad guy. I'm on episode 10 where NN just got a huge butt whooping and the dad was trying to egg the mom onto being a bad guy, and she really did end up being the bad guy! It breaks my heart because the mom really does care.
