Five Children was also an excellent family drama and I'm enjoying Once Again which is currently airing and is about halfway thru. I loved What Happens to My Family, and Rascal Sons also. Family dramas are a commitment! LOL! Sometimes they are worth it and sometimes they aren't - but I never feel guilty about dropping one if they aren't keeping my interest. The Last Empress also turned out to be kind of long and it was a wild trippy ride - the most makjang, cliché drama I've ever watched AND enjoyed. :)
I still have the last episode left to watch, but I almost feel like writing a review would be pointless because you've said so many things that I've been thinking - and probably much better than I will be able to do! (Maybe I'll just write mine and say "Read Jeana's review - ditto!" LOL!!
Right?! Who would have thought a drama about guys in prison would have been so good? I was reluctant to watch it when it first came out also, and ended up seeing it after it was complete. It was so so good! :)
I think what you felt when things changed was due to the fact that the screen writers had to change things in the drama as to not give away the plot of the manga which was not yet finished at the time the drama came out. I remember it being a big deal at the time. I was confused about how I felt about the drama the first time I watched it too, but then at the same time there was something really good about it that kept me thinking on it and I ended up re-watching it about a year or so after the first time and I liked it better the second go-around. (except for that open ending...I really don't like open endings! LOL). Great review! :)
Sung Dong Il is in ALL of the Reply series as the dad. Plus Prison Playbook and Hospital Playlist. :) Kim Won Hae is an actor that seems to be in EVERYTHING! I swear one year I saw him in like 7 or 8 dramas back to back! LOL!
Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one that felt this way in this sea of 10's. I enjoyed it, but I wasn't in love with it. You hit the nail on the head here for me.
Thank you even if it is a joke. I was debating not to add that last sentence which caused me to warn people there…
I just took a peek to see if you had some more reviews - I look forward to reading more of them. It looks like you put a lot of thought into them. Thanks for the apology! It's easy to misunderstand thru text. No hard feelings! :)
I agree with you Kate- I always read several for a balanced idea of what it's really like. I discount reviews that just gush like "omg I love it and it's the best drama ever." That tells me nothing about the show and why I would or wouldn't want to watch it. I also don't read reviews that are written before a drama is complete - and yes, they usually get downvoted into oblivion once real reviews start coming in after the show is complete (I think some people just have this weird drive to be "first").
Thank you for letting me be a part of your article! I enjoyed participating and also reading every else's responses! You did a great job with it and I can't wait to read more new articles from you! :)

I agree with you - I wanted to like this show a lot too, and I did at the beginning but it didn't wow me - it was just "ok".
