I have nothing against, Kim Tae-Rii, but I wish they casted someone else for the female lead. That said, I love…
Kim Tae Ri is one of the most fascinating things about this show to me. (And this is coming from someone that has loved everything about this show so far!) She is captivating. Her acting is flawless, she is gorgeous to look at, and her voice is lovely. If I were a man, I'd have a new crush on her! I understand that we all have different tastes though! Sorry she's not doing it for you.
I like Dong Mae as a character, he's interesting, a bit creepy, and kind of lost..he likes to appear as if his…
You expressed what I think exactly - I like him as a character and think he's interesting, etc. But I don't see him coupled with Ae Sin. I love Ae Sin with Eugene all the way.
OK, I'm starting to enjoy this drama a little bit more. My least favourite character is Dong Mae. His obsession…
I don't dislike Dong Mae as a character - he's interesting. BUT I have no idea why people 'ship' him with Ae Sin. I have zero second lead syndrome in this at all. If anyone could explain why they want her to end up with Dong Mae as opposed to Eugene, I'd be greatly interested in your perspective. The romantic tension is all with Eugene in my eyes, and Dong Mae *is* kind of a 'historical creep' LOL! (good one!)
I would say yes and no. However, I usually do my best to avoid overly political types of shows - I find them boring. But this show has many things going for it, and I find I am not bored in the slightest. On the contrary, I find myself captivated by every little thing. So, yes there is politics and war, but there is also romance - nearly everything about it says romance - and a bit of humor to keep it from taking itself too seriously.
Your reviews are always such a nice read!Everything you wrote I'm able to agree on despite having the polar opposite…
Weirdly, I feel the same. Normally I would not vote for a review of a show that was dropped or reviewed before completion. And while I had a different reaction also, I have to admit that 3GGG makes valid points that I agree with.
Great review! I love SIG too - I've probably watched him in more dramas than any of my other favorite actors. He always seems to pick good projects! :)
Aw, only 2 episodes left. Will the show treat us to a wedding? Please give us Kim Mi So in a wedding gown.
I want Mi So's and Young Joon's wedding too. I hate it when they give a wedding at the end, and it's a SIDE couple and not the main couple. (and they usually try to fake you out and make you *think* it's the main couple at first.)
I also liked her in GG79 - but it almost seems like she's playing the same teenager in this. I'm having a hard time seeing her as a couple with HSJ's character right now because her acting makes her seem like a teenager rather than a woman in her twenties. That's just my opinion though. I keep hoping that her character will make a transformation into a more confident woman. That would help a lot. Right now, I'm holding on bc I like HSJ and I'm enjoying the Sang Ah/ Jin Kook couple.
Is it really necessary to kill Soo Ji to end their relationship? Can't the writers just make them break up or…
My theory was close - I thought maybe she'd be in the hospital from an accident or something. I didn't think they'd kill her off. I was so sad - My heart broke too! I can't believe they went there. :(
I'll preface this by saying, I *do* like this show, but I have some aggravations about it too -
Not that I'm sad that we haven't seen Dal Hee in a while, but why set her up at all if they were just going to drop her story. She was even going to put her office in Chil Sung's building. They show the hotel guy quite a bit, but it's like Dal Hee never existed. LOL! They couldn't keep their hands off each other in the beginning. (And I know he said he'd give her up if Poong came to work for him...but he didn't, and she'd already disappeared by that time anyway.) Again....I'm glad that she's gone, but they shouldn't have wasted so much time on her in the beginning only to have her disappear.
Same for Buster, the talking horse....although, I *am* a little disappointed he's gone. Why spend so much time on him in the first half only to forget his existence in the back half.
There was really no point to either of these characters. (Or Sae Woo's would-be husband either, honestly) As much as I've enjoyed this drama, this sort of messiness with the story is still kind of annoying. And they've only got this week's episodes to go....are they going to finish up anything with Chil Sung's mom/ Gum Granny either?
It's like they changed direction mid-show. (And I'd like to add that I'm all on-board the hating Sae Woo's mom train. She's horrible!)
Gosh, it has been a while since I watched that drama. I think it gets better around episode 6 or 7. It might have…
That is a great idea! I may have to do that and ff through some parts. I know this was an old review, but your thoughts about the beginning were the same as mine. Thanks for replying! :)
I am really struggling to get through the beginning of this drama. I've been told that it is worth it in the end, just as you have said. But I'm halfway through episode four now (and it had gotten marginally better between the end of 3 and the beginning of 4) and now it's started back up again. I'm having SUCH a hard time watching poor Si Won get misunderstood and treated so horribly that I'm not sure whether or not I can keep going. I get anxiety watching it and, like you, I get angry and frustrated at all the other characters. I would drop it now and be done, but it was recommended to me and I'd really like to be able to finish it since they think so highly of it. How much longer before I can expect it to go on the way it has?
Kim Tae Ri is stunningly gorgeous. This is the first time I've seen her in anything, but I love her character, Ae Shin. This might be the first time the lead female has captivated me more than the lead male! LOL! It's also my first time watching Lee Byung Hun - although I already knew *of* him. I didn't think I would like him that much, but so far he's been fairly charismatic to me (ymmv). And I usually do not care for Yoo Yeon Seok, but he's done a great job so far - so much so that I didn't even recognize him when he first appeared in the story.
So far, this show is a win all the way around for me.
I understand that we all have different tastes though! Sorry she's not doing it for you.
